Platinum Championship Wrestling--April 5th, 2014--Porterdale,GA

67 people showed up to The Main Event in Porterdale, GA for PCW.  The crowd was down from last time, but they were enthusiastic.  There was a lot about the show to be enthusiastic about.

Match 1: "Hit for Hire" Bobby Moore vs. "Marvelous" Marko Polo vs. "The Revelation" Shane Marx (w/Miss Rachel).
Winner: "Hit for Hire" Bobby Moore

The ladies in the audience squealed when Marko Polo entered and took off his wrap.  What I noticed most is the transformation in Rachel. She carried herself with a different energy. She acted more like a cheerleader than an enemy. Even her hair had bounce and energy instead of the severe beauty she used to possess.  The entire match it was obvious how badly Bobby Moore wanted to get his hands on Shane Marx. Marko knocked Bobby Moore on his butt and then he and Shane Marx double teamed Moore.  Moore circled the ring for a while letting the other two wear each other down.  He attacked Rachel, and Marx came out to defend her.  Moore slammed him into the ringpost.  Marko did a side Russian leg sweep to Moore for a pin attempt. Moore assaulted Marx with elbows.  Marko broke up Moore's pin attempt. Moore attempted to pin Shane again, but he kicked out.  Moore and Marx exchanged blows to the face.  Marko came back with a giant leg drop to Shane, but only managed a two count. Shane punched out Marko, and did the Natural Selection on him, but only managed a two count.  Shane went for Bobby Moore, but Moore evaded, and Marx's spear hit Marko.  Moore knocked Shane out of the ring and stole his pin.  This match did a great job of furthering the feud between Moore and Marx. Moore is really showing the anger he feels over Rachel leaving him to remain Marx's manager, and the feud keeps getting better.

Match 2: De La Vega vs. Adrian Armour (w/Sylar Cross)
Winner: De La Vega

Adrian Armour wasted no time. He attacked De La Vega before he even entered the ring. He was right at my feet when the attack started.  Adrian took his time entering the ring. The referee got all the way to nine before he decided to enter.  Vega made the first pin attempt after an arm drag and two hip tosses, but Armour kicked out.  Armour kicked Vega in the head while he was down.  The whole crowd was behind Vega, and Sylar Cross yelled at us to "Shut up!"  Armour slammed Vega then stomped his head into the mat. He then chopped Vega in the corner.  Sylar choked Vega on the ropes while Adrian Armour cleverly distracted the referee.  Armour threw shots at Vega's midsection. Vega clotheslined Armour, but Armour knocked him back down.  Armour missed a move, and Vega capitalized for a moment, but was unsuccessful in a pin attempt.  Vega countered a suplex attempt from Armour, then he punched Armour in the face.  Armour did a knee from the second rope, but Vega kicked out of the pin at two.  Armour followed this with a sit-out powerbomb, but still only managed a two count.  Armour powerbombed Vega again, but Vega pushed him off at the pin attempt.  Armour climbed up the turnbuckle, but Vega kicked him off. Vega won the match with a top rope scissor kick.  The crowd was solidly behind Vega for the entire match, and Vega stood up to everything that was thrown at him.   He told Adrian Armour it was the third time he's been beaten by the grown ass man, and that it is time for him to get a shot at the PCW championship.  Sylar and Adrian responded to that by beating him up. Dynomite Soul came to his aid. He said that he challenged Chip Day for the championship, and that he was willing to put his career on the line. De La Vega's return to the light side has been handled flawlessly. He no longer behaves as a petulant child, and instead he's handling his business the way a "grown ass man" would.

Match 3: Warhorse "Priceless" vs. "Go Time" Erik Jones
Winner: "Go Time" Erik Jones

As Warhorse "Priceless" entered he talked to a very young girl in the audience. She was not amused by his advances, and she slapped him.  He gestured to other young girls in the audience and beckoned them towards the ring. I'd venture to say this joke was lost upon 90% of the Platinum audience, but they seemed suitably creeped out. To understand the joke, one would have to be a reader of Stephen Platinum's recent Full Disclosure writings. "Go Time" Erik Jones won the match quickly with an elbow.

Match 4: Sylar Cross vs. Jon Williams
Winner: Sylar Cross

Jon dropkicked Sylar, and Sylar left the ring.  Jon followed him.  Sylar tried to submit Jon, but he got out of the hold.  Sylar then did a giant clothesline, but only managed a two count.  Jon got in some punches. Sylar went for another submission, but Jon powered out of it.  Jon sprang off the ropes over Sylar's head, dodged Sylar's blow, and got in some of his own.  Sylar left the ring again, and Jon dived on him.  They both got back in the ring at the nine count. Jon did a splash off the top rope, but Sylar powered out of the pin.  Jon kneed Sylar in the corner. Sylar slammed Jon hard, but Jon powered out of the pin. Jon did a slingshot codebreaker to Sylar, but Sylar kicked out of the pin attempt. Sylar caught Jon's feet and locked in a Texas cloverleaf. Sylar won the match by putting Jon to sleep. Trey Williams had to come out and superkick Sylar in the head to get him to release the hold.

Quasi Mandisco came out and said he's the best thing at PCW. "This masked superhero won't ruin my plans. I'm going to sit right here until he comes out, unmasks, and shows who he is." He sat in the middle of the ring and proceeds to insult the audience. He said to a fan who wore a fake beard to imitate Bray Wyatt, "Hey dumbass. What's going on with the beard? No one loves you. Your parents don't even love you."
He then returned to the task at hand. "I'm waiting. Where are you, Platinum Crusader? Where are you, hero?"  Out came the Platinum Crusader and Quasi continued his rant "You know I'm the reason people come out to the show. You're going down a very dangerous road, messing with a very dangerous man. You remember what happened to him." Quasi pulled out Supernatural's mask. He then told everyone he believed that Johnny Danger was the Platinum Crusader and reminded the crowd of the restraining order against Johnny Danger. He said he'd take good care of Danger's wife while he was in jail. "Take off your mask. Be a good role model. Tell the Truth. All you are is a waste of time and a waste of air. Unmask." The Platinum Crusader grabbed the microphone and into it he screamed "No!" Quasi hit the Platinum Crusader with a chair and tried to rip his mask off. The Platinum Crusader tried to hit him, but Quasi rolled out of the ring.

Main Event: Trey Williams vs. Chip Day for the PCW Heavyweight Title

Chip took a while to get in the ring. He consulted Jeff G. Bailey and walked around drinking gatorade.  Chip stopped right next to me, and I asked him if he was afraid of Trey. He said "No, he looks good tonight, and I want to look at him as much as I can."

The match itself really heated up at the five minute mark. Sylar beat up Trey outside the ring while the referee spent his time making sure Trey's brother didn't interfere in the match. Chip did a big move, and he was so proud of himself that he danced in the ring. Trey did a big kick to Chip and tried to pin him with his foot on his chest, but Chip kicked out at two. Chip kicked out of a second pin attempt.  Chip kicked Trey and followed up with a knee to Trey's head, but Chip only managed a two count.  Trey and Chip exchanged kicks and knocked each other down. Trey punched Chip in the face. Chip dodged Trey's advances and landed a kick to Trey's head. Trey gave everything in this match. Trey pinned Chip, but only managed a 2 count.  Sylar interfered and allowed Chip to capitalize with a slam.  Chip got the pin with Day of the Dead.

Miss Rachel came out after the match and extended a challenge to Chip Day. Jeff G. Bailey pointed out that Shane Marx hadn't earned a title shot. Rachel answered "I don't care about a title shot." Jeff G. Bailey and Chip Day agreed to any challenge Rachel wanted and Jeff threatened Rachel. When PCW returns to Porterdale on April 19th, Shane Marx has a challenge for Chip Day.

Universal Independent Wrestling 5th Anniversary Show--March 29, 2014--Buchanan,GA

300 wrestling fans came to the Haralson County Rec. Center in Buchanan, GA. Some were there to see UIW induct 4 members, Billy Jack, Rob Adonis, "Nightmare" Ted Allen, and "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers, into its initial Hall of Fame Class. The majority, myself included, were attracted by the prospect of seeing Pandora and Nina Monet continue their feud with Smothers Twisted Daughters in a steel cage.

Match 1: Stupid vs. Fry Daddy.
Winner: Fry Daddy

Stupid is one of the best at riling up a crowd for an opening match that I've seen. He typically opens because he has a gift for inciting hatred from the local crowds.  Fry Daddy had great energy from the moment he hit the curtain. The crowd loves Fry Daddy everywhere I've seen him wrestle, so this match worked well because it set the mood for the crowd going forward.  Fry Daddy won the match with a cutter despite Stupid's ringside companion, Tweety's best efforts to distract the referee.

Match 2: Brian Alexander vs. "The Local Scene" Josh Storm
Winner: Josh Storm

Brian Alexander is billed "From a place so dark there is no light." That's kind of cheesy, but he did impress me with the flip off the top turnbuckle at his entrance.  He also did a pretty good back breaker mid match. I'm happy that Josh Storm is back to playing the "local hero" because it's a role that suits him pretty well. Josh won the match with a kick to Alexander's head.  The Mercenary and Brad Lynch came and gave Josh a beatdown after his win.

Match 3: Chip Day vs. Chris Michaels
Winner: Chip Day

Chris Michaels really heeled it up by saying the audience didn't show him the proper respect when he entered.  Michaels slammed Day into the ringpost. Day answered with kicks.  Chris Michaels threw Chip over the rope out of the ring then tossed him into the apron.  Chip got really close to pinning Michaels. He was so close that they nearly rang the bell.  The match was fast paced with lots of action packed exchanges. Chip won the match by rolling Michaels up.  The referee pushed Michaels down presumably in retaliation for earlier problems, and Michaels claimed that he'd never come to the town again because of the disrespect from the referee.

The Smothers Sisters heeled it up during intermission telling the crowd they needed to buy their shirts and their pictures because it was unlikely anyone would see Pandora again.

Match 4: Murder One and AJ Steele vs. Terry Lawler and Billy Knight.
Winners: Murder One and AJ Steele

The match was a no disqualification, falls count anywhere match.  It was chaos.  The action spilled all over the place. It seemed pretty short, and the focus was divided between two separate matches, one that took place near ringside and one that took place on the bleachers and in various places in the crowd.  AJ Steele pinned Terry Lawler in the ring.

Semi Main Event: Brad Lynch vs. Bull Buchanan
Winner: Bull Buchanan

The stipulation for the match was "Last Man Standing".  Bull Buchanan beat Brad Lynch with the aid of loyal So Fine Mafia representative Peanut who turned on Brad and has defected to the side of good.  Rob Adonis handed Bull the belt as he took his place as new champion.

Main Event: Smothers Twisted Daughters (Izza Belle and Jessie Belle) vs. Pain and Pleasure (Pandora and Nina Monet)

The match started violently as Izza Belle slammed the door on Nina Monet and locked her inside the cage with no partner for a good portion of the match.  Pandora tried to climb the cage to get in, but Jessie Belle kept knocking her down.  Izza Belle bit Pandora's fingers to keep her from climbing the walls as well. They told a great story as Pandora tried to get in the cage while her partner was being viciously attacked by the Smothers girls. She finally got over the cage walls and jumped onto both Smothers girls from the top rope and knocked them down.  Pandora pinned Izzabelle after powerbombing her from the rope.  It wasn't over after the pin.  AJ Steele and Murder One came out and attacked Pandora and Nina Monet.  They put Pandora through a table.  Then they punched referee Stan Robinson.  Jessie Belle and Izza Belle stole the LOUIS tag team titles and left the cage. The crowd went crazy after their vicious attack on Pandora and Nina.

Universal Independent Wrestling is teaming up with Peachstate Wrestling Alliance on April 5th in Villa Rica to do a benefit show for Referee Terry Hudgins to help replace items he lost in a recent house fire.

NWA Atlanta--March 22, 2014--Locust Grove, GA

110 people showed up in Locust Grove for Saturday Night Wrestling.  NWA Atlanta's general manager came out and did a recap of the previous show before the show started. While this showed a commitment to telling a long term story, it would have been better if the recaps had been given by the individual wrestlers during their promos and smack talk sessions in their individual matches.

Match 1: Zac Edwards vs. Rey del Sol
Winner: Zac Edwards

Zac Edwards did a pretty good job of trying to rile up the crowd, and he put on one of the best matches I've seen him put on in months. He showed a more aggressive side, and I think this suits him better than when he's just trying to be funny. He pinned Rey del Sol with a snapmare driver.

Match 2: Adorable Anthony Andrews vs. Fry Daddy
Winner: Adorable Anthony Andrews

The crowd really woke up for this contest, and it is safe to say that Fry Daddy is the most over wrestler at NWA Atlanta.  Fry Daddy got Anthony early with two headscissors take downs.  He followed up with an arm drag and then another.  Anthony threatened to go home, and the crowd yelled "Just go".  Fry Daddy was going to dive onto both BFF's outside the ring, but they moved.  Anthony tossed Fry Daddy back into the ring.  Anthony hit Fry Daddy with a backbreaker. Anthony had Fry Daddy in a bodyscissors, but Fry Daddy maneuvered into a pin attempt.  Anthony picked up Fry Daddy to finish him, but Fry Daddy countered with a headscissors take down. He followed up with an elbow drop, but only managed to get the two count.  Michael Stevens tried to interfere, and the action spilled out of the ring.  The referee started counting.  Anthony pushed Fry Daddy back towards the entrance, and jumped back into the ring.  He distracted the referee, so Michael Stevens could hit Fry Daddy and knock him out.  Fry Daddy was counted out.

The original NWA Atlanta Max Champion Cru Jones came out to talk about a possible return to NWA Atlanta, and he also wanted to talk about the youth wrestling program he's been working for.  Compound Wrestling Center in McDonough is accepting girls into their program starting April 8th, and girls will be able to train for free.  He went onto to talk about how women's collegiate wrestling was the fastest growing athletic field and the number of women's wrestling scholarships were unclaimed.  He also put his name in the hat to be a possible fifth member of the Wargames team.

Tyson Dean and Kurt Kilgore interrupted this part of his spiel.  Kurt Kilgore said "If he's not signed as a wrestler then why is he here?" and "It's not the best idea if you're not medically cleared to be in a cage match."  They accused him of hiding behind children.  Jones challenged that one of his wrestling students from the audience could pin Kilgore.  Kilgore in his usual sarcasm said "Will one of Cru Jones Make a Wish Foundation kids raise their hands?"  Then he chose a girl from the audience.  She pinned Kilgore pretty quickly, and Tyson had to pull him out of the ring.  It was pretty funny.  Cru Jones said "You just got beat by a 10 year old girl".  The audience laughed and had a lot of fun with that.

Match 3: Colt Callaway vs. Matt Sells (w/Johnny Danger)
Winner: Matt Sells

This audience is never quite sure how to take Matt Sells and his "hetero life mate" Johnny Danger. It's obvious they hate Matt, but they seemed stunned by the pair as they came out to "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness and proclaiming their status as "hair metal heartthrobs".  Colt Callaway is a blond blue eyed babyface that hearkens back to another era of pretty boy hero.  Matt's persona as arrogant party boy has really grown over time.  This match was an exercise in comedy that amused the audience with sheer silliness. Matt went a little over the top, but Johnny Danger did his part. He played ringside nuisance well. While the referee was distracted, he hit Colt Callaway in the face.  Throughout the match, Callaway sold well, and he's excellent at playing the "face in peril".  Sells put Callaway in an abdominal stretch at one point and played guitar on his abs.  Matt pinned Callaway after a DDT.

Match 4: Michael Stevens vs. Pain
Winner: Pain

Michael Stevens taunted Pain saying that "his team wasn't looking so good."  Pain answered Stevens with his fists.  Pain threw Michael into the rail. During the match, Michael Stevens would go over to his ringside companion Adorable Anthony and he would kiss him. The Black Widow, Pain's valet, would tell the referee to get them to break up their kissing which made the audience laugh.  Widow's grown into her ringside role this evening. She's on the side cheering her guys along, and she's making sure things are right when it comes to making sure the other side's representatives aren't cheating.  Pain won the match with a sit-out powerbomb, and Widow entered the ring to raise the hand of her champion.

Drew Adler came out and gave his piece about Matt "Sex" Sells.  "Locust Grove, I'm usually wrestling, but tonight I have business with the "Mattlanta" Champion.  Last time he rolled me up with a handful of tights. I say Matt, me and you April 26th for the NWA Atlanta Max Championship."  Johnny Danger came to answer Drew. "Oh great, I ask for Bowser, and I get the princess." Johnny Danger responded " I am no princess.  I'm your Saturday night delight.  I'm the terror that flaps in the night.  I go where Kenny Loggins fears to tread. I am Johnny Danger."  They fought, and Drew Adler put Johnny Danger across his knee and spanked him. Matt Sells came out to the rescue of his "hetero life mate" and granted Drew his match as long as he let Johnny Danger go.  Drew kicked Matt and took the belt. He stood on the rope and held it up, and NWA Atlanta cheered at the thought of Drew being the Max Champion at War Games.

Main Event: Bill T. Butcher vs. Tyson Dean for the GA Heavyweight Championship

This was a good match overall and the crowd was clearly behind Bill.  The exchanges between Kurt Kilgore and The Black Widow were very amusing as Kurt made sure security was between them at all times.  The match felt a little short. Tyson Dean won by hitting Bill with his chain while the referee's back was turned. Then a massive beat down ensued as the men from both War Games teams came out of the back.  The entire scene stopped as the fifth member of the face team was revealed.  Andy Anderson returned to NWA Atlanta to be the fifth member of the War Games team, so both teams are now set.

Two matches are now set for April 26th's War Games Event in Stockbridge, GA, and there is one more show between now and then in Locust Grove, April 12th.

Platinum Championship Wrestling 2nd Anniversary Show--March 15, 2014--Porterdale,GA

120 rabid fans came out for Platinum Championship Wrestling's St. Patrick's Day show celebrating their 2nd anniversary at the Main Event in Porterdale, GA.  The show was action packed from top to bottom. There wasn't a bad match on the card.

Match 1: "Hit for Hire" Bobby Moore vs. "Go Time" Erik Jones.
Winner: "Hit for Hire" Bobby Moore

Bobby Moore took the mic when he entered and blamed Miss Rachel for his PCW losing streak. He told the audience that if Rachel were present he'd slap her.

Bobby Moore laid into Erik Jones with kicks and punches.  Jones answered with blows of his own.  Moore attacked Jones outside the ring then tosses him back in.  He went for a pin, but Jones kicked out.  Moore showed more emotion and intensity in this match than I'd seen from him in previous outings.  Jones matched that intensity with fire of his own which made this a good opening contest. Jones went up for a splash, but he missed allowing Moore to capitalize.  Moore pinned Jones after a knockout elbow.

Match 2: Sugar Shane vs. Velvet Jones
Winner: Velvet Jones.

My 6 year old son, Ian, made the mistake of waving his handheld video game in the face of Quasi Mandisco, who snatched it from him. Quasi wandered around the ring with it making fun of the quality of the system, generating himself some serious heat in the process.  He called Ian up to the side of the ring to get his game back, but he would repeatedly snatch it away when Ian reached for it. Ian finally got it back and told me to put it in my purse.

Quasi made fun of the fact that MAIM took Supernatural out of action, and he said "Johnny Danger Time is no more, and so is Johnny Danger." Sugar Shane insulted the audience.  "Ya'll are the most low class inbred pieces of white trash I ever saw." Velvet Jones came out and told Shane that when he insulted the audience, he insulted him.  They set the stipulation that whoever lost the match had to leave PCW for 30 days.

Sugar Shane and Velvet Jones locked up.  Shane went up top, and Velvet dropped him.  Shane punched Velvet a couple times. Velvet clotheslined Shane right out of the ring.  Shane went to Quasi for support, and Velvet knocked both of them down.  Velvet suplexed Shane, but only managed to get a 2 count.  Shane threw Velvet into the middle turnbuckle, then punched him and threw him into a corner.  Shane chopped Velvet in the chest.  Velvet reversed Shane into the corner, pulled his shirt over his face, and gave him chops of his own.  He then whipped him into the opposite corner and chopped him again.  Sugar Shane attempted a sleeper hold, but Velvet got out quickly.  Velvet attempted a sleeper of his own.  Velvet tired to roll up Shane for a pin, but Shane kicked out.  Shane slammed Velvet and attempted a pin, but Velvet kicked out. Velvet delivered a big slam to Shane, but Shane kicked out.  Shane followed that with a big elbow.  Quasi tried to introduce a chair into the match, and the Platinum Crusader's music played. He swooped out from under the ring and beat up Quasi outside the ring.  Velvet scoop slammed Shane and pinned him. Shane now has to leave PCW for thirty days.

Match 3: Brian Blaze vs. "Dynomite Soul" Eric Walker

Brian Blaze told Velvet Jones to stay in the ring.  He said he was having deja vu because six months ago Big F'n Deal had shown in the ring who they are. "Geter has held every heavyweight title in the state of GA, and I will be the first triple crown champion. We don't care if you want to try and make a name for yourself here, but this is our ring, and we have unfinished business."

Dynomite Soul came out to face Brian Blaze, and Velvet Jones remained in his corner.  The action spilled outside the ring quickly and turned into an all out brawl.  Velvet Jones and Geter who were both at ringside got involved and it escalated.  Shane Mackey and the referee got control of the chaos long enough to turn the match into a tag team contest.

Match 4: Big F'n Deal (Geter and Brian Blaze) vs. Velvet Jones and Dynomite Soul
Winners: Big F'n Deal

There was so much fury from Big F'n Deal at the start of this match.  Geter tagged in and butt bumped Dynomite Soul in the corner.  He attempted a pin, but Dynomite kicked out.  Dynomite was isolated for a long time. Blaze hit him with a snapmare, then followed with a clothesline.  Geter tagged in and kneed Dynomite Soul in the chest.  He attempted a pin, but it was only a 2 count.  Dynomite Soul punched Geter, and Geter knocked him down like he was nothing.  Blaze tagged in and took Dymomite Soul down, but only managed a 2 count.  Geter landed a huge elbow to Dynomite Soul.  Dynomite maintained steam despite being isolated for so long.  He kicked Geter repeatedly.  Velvet tagged in and drop kicked Blaze then punched him in the corner.  Dynomite Soul tagged back in and Geter clotheslined both Velvet and Dynomite Soul. He then tossed Velvet Jones out of the ring.  Geter held Dynomite Soul while Blaze did an elbow off the rope.  Blaze pinned Dynomite Soul for the win.  A fan tried to hand Geter a happy meal to congratulate him for his win.

Match 5: De La Vega vs. Marko Polo
Winner De La Vega

Marko was decked out in his St. Patrick's Day finest. He wore a mini leprechaun hat, a green fake mustache, and a green shirt that said "Love" on it.  Marko kicked Vega down and went for an early pin, but only managed a 2 count.  He grabbed him off the top rope in the corner, ran into the other corner and rammed him into the turnbuckle.  Vega did an STO followed by an elbow. He attempted a pin, but Marko kicked out.  Polo did an armbar, then hit Vega with a back elbow.  They hit each other and they were both down for a moment.  Marko did a clothesline, back elbow, then followed with another clothesline. He then hit Vega with a forearm to the midsection.  Polo hit Vega with a leg drop, went for the pin, but Vega kicked out.  Vega did a crossbody. Polo threw Vega into the corner, and did a neckbreaker. Vega kicked out of the pin attempt.  Polo tried to come up under Vega's legs to roll him up, but Vega got his shoulders down and pinned him instead. Marko extended his hand as a sign of respect, Vega kind of slapped it, but didn't actually shake it.

Main Event: Adrian Armour, Sylar Cross and Chip Day vs. The Washington Bullets and Shane Marx.

Jeff G. Bailey started by addressing Shane Marx.  "One of our brothers is on the other team.  Come down, face me one on one.  We won't beat you up."  Shane Marx came down to speak to Jeff G. Bailey. Jeff G. Bailey continued "I know you were just trying to protect Rachel.  There's room for you here alongside Adrian Armour, Sylar Cross, and Chip Day. We all care about you. You're Empire just like us." Shane answered, "There are two cardinal sins you never commit.  You put your hands on Rachel. She is my friend. You pissed me off." (Honestly, it made me chuckle that the audience cheered so loudly about putting hands on Rachel being a cardinal sin. Two months ago she rivaled Quasi for most hated person in the city.)

Adrian Armour, Sylar Cross and Chip Day then beat down Shane Marx.  The Washington Bullets came out to Marx's aid and the referee has to gain control before he can officially start the match.  The heels played coward once the numbers were even.  Chaos ensued again and all three faces were in the ring with the heels continuing to cower outside. Chip Day was in with Jon Williams of the Bullets and they grappled for a bit.  Jon tagged in Trey and they double teamed Chip.  Shane then tags in. Chip Day ran out of the ring and all the way out of the building.  Shane tried to run after him. Chip sneaked back in through the back entrance.  Sylar Cross tried to put Shane Marx in a sleeper, but Shane easily got to his feet.  Chip tagged in and kicked Shane in the chest.  Armour tagged in and landed a knee to Shane's face.  He kicked Shane in the head when he was down. Sylar was taken down by an enziguiri from Shane Marx.  This match was chaotic with quick tags and quick exchanges between the participants.  The heels attacked Trey Williams while the referee argued with Jon Williams.  Chip gave Trey an ax kick while Sylar held him down.  Sylar tried to pin him, but Trey kicked out.  Trey was isolated for a long time, and he took down Sylar with what felt like his last bit of energy.  Both men were down for a moment. Sylar tagged in Chip and Trey tagged in Shane.  Shane barreled through Chip with kicks and punches.  Shane hit Chip with the Natural Selection, but Chip got his foot on the rope to break the count.  The bullets double drop kicked Sylar. Adrian Armour missed a kick. The Bullets double teamed Adrian Armour and Trey Williams got the pin.  Shane Mackey set a title match between Trey Williams and Chip Day for April 5th when PCW returns to Porterdale.

NWA Atlanta--March 8, 2014--Locust Grove,GA

NWA Atlanta delivered a passable show last night in Locust Grove.  The fans seemed ready to see some wrestling, however, the crowd seemed down from past shows I've attended. There were 130 there, but at previous shows counts were closer to 175.  The new stable Tradition, a combination of GA Heavyweight Champion Tyson Dean and Tag Team Champions, The BFF's dominated the night in what might prove to be a new direction for the storylines in the company.  If NWA Atlanta has a weakness it is a lack of long term story building. Each card will have an interesting match, but it doesn't always build on what happened at the previous show. This show seemed like the beginning of a longer term story, and that would do a lot to improve the overall quality of the shows as a whole.

Match 1: Stupid vs. Frankie Valentine
Winner: Frankie Valentine

Frankie Valentine started off strong with an armbreaker, and he followed that by dropping Stupid on his back.  Stupid did a neckbreaker on Frankie, and he tried to dance like Frankie, much to the horror of the audience.  Stupid put Frankie in a sleeper. He tossed Frankie out of the ring next to Tweety. An older gentleman in the audience tried to smack Tweety's hand with a cane as she interfered in the match.  Frankie did a backflip off the top rope and unsuccessfully tried to pin Stupid.  Stupid tied Frankie up in a submission, but Frankie reversed it.  Frankie suplexed Stupid.  Stupid put Frankie in a half crab, but Frankie made it to the rope.  Stupid bodyslammed Frankie, but Frankie kicked out at two.  Frankie did a headscissors takedown to Stupid and tried to follow it with another move from the top rope, but was unsuccessful. Stupid superplexed Frankie, and was again unsuccessful with the pin.  Stupid slammed Frankie again, but Frankie kicked out.  Frankie Valentine pinned Stupid and won the match.

NWA Atlanta's newest faction, Tradition, came out to set their own rules for the main event where the BFF's would take on Pain and Bill T. Butcher for the NWA Atlanta Tag Team Championships. Kurt Kilgore started "All of you will feel a little bit funny and you won't know why. Mostly because you won't know the difference because you're used to being hung over. The hour's going to change tomorrow, but we'll still have the Tag Team Champion belts. That won't change. Ya'll still want a title match. We need a stipulation. Pain and Bill T. Butcher are brawlers rather than wrestlers. No brawling, No kicking, none of that nonsense. We want a "wrestling" match." The crowd drowned out most of the rest of Kilgore's speech with their incessant boos.  Tyson Dean stated that they were looking for a team to take on Tradition on April 26th at Wargames.

Match 2: The Russian Assassin vs. Drew Adler
Winner: Drew Adler

Drew began with knees to the back of the Russian Assassin. He chopped him in the chest. He never lost momentum. He kneed him in the face in the corner. It was a squash. Drew Adler annihilated The Russian Assassin.

Match 3: Colt Callaway vs. Tyson Dean
Winner: Tyson Dean

Relative newcomer Callaway made a decent showing against GA Heavyweight Champion, Tyson Dean. Dean pulled Callaway's hair at one point during the match showing he's willing to play dirty to win.   Callaway tapped to Dean's submission finisher, a hammer lock with a bridge hold.

Match 4: Zac Edwards vs. Fry Daddy
Winner: Zac Edwards

The crowd yelled "Please don't talk." at Zac Edwards as he picked up a microphone.  He did his own ring announcement.  Fry Daddy threw Edwards' vest into the crowd, and a lady on the front row sat on it before tossing it back.  Fry Daddy put it on and mocked Zac prancing around the ring. Zac walked to the back and acted like he was going to leave, but he came back and finished his match.  The match ended when Edwards rolled Fry Daddy up. The referee didn't see that he was holding Fry Daddy's tights. This would have been an ok "heel cheats, audience gets mad" moment except that the announcer had to explain that Zac Edwards was still our winner because the referee didn't see him grab the tights.

Main Event: Pain and Bill T. Butcher vs. The BFF's
Winner: The BFF's

Bill T. Butcher and Pain can perform a good wrestling match that doesn't rely on their size or monster "brawler" gimmicks. It was a real change of pace for them, but it was something I was impressed by.  Their ringside companion, The Black Widow, has really come a long way in my opinion in the six months I've been aggressively following this company. She looked great last night and she looked comfortable in her role as ringside companion as she banged on the ring shouting instructions to her wrestlers.  The match ended in a disqualification because Pain threw a closed hand punch in what was supposed to be "a traditional wrestling match". The BFF's retained the Tag Team Titles.  After the match ended a brawl ensued. The Black Widow chased Kurt Kilgore around the ring and took him out.  The BFF's started beating up Bill T. Butcher and Pain. Marko and Fry Daddy came out for the save. Zac Edwards came out and hit Pain in the gut with a baseball bat. Then he hit Marko and only the heels were standing in the ring with all the faces laid out around them.  The heels left the ring, and Marko got up and said "This ends now" Marko Polo, Fry Daddy, Bill T. Butcher, and Pain are going to team up for Wargames on April 26th. They plan to announce their 5th partner at the show on March 22nd when NWA Atlanta will be back in Locust Grove GA.

Platinum Championship Wrestling---March 1, 2014---Porterdale, GA

There were 85 fans in attendance in the Main Event Wrestling Arena in Porterdale, GA, and all were ready for a good time.  ROH talent Cedric Alexander made his PCW debut adding his star power to an already well balanced card.  I'd also like to give a huge thank you to Tim Savage for improving the venue with the new carpeting and lighting scheme. The place looks amazing inside, and it feels like you're watching wrestling in a large arena even though the area is small.

Match 1: Sugar Shane (w/Quasi Mandisco) vs. Go Time Eric Jones

Quasi Mandisco was brilliant as usual. His interaction with the audience interested me more than most of what happened in the ring.  Quasi went to get Eric Jones outside the ring while the referee was distracted, but he made the mistake of trying to interfere next to Ms. Lucy. Ms. Lucy smacked Quasi with her scarf. Security told Quasi he had to back off.  Jones missed a big move off the top rope and Sugar Shane won the match with a DDT.  Shane continued his assault of Jones after the bell rang.

Chuck Porterfield told us the story of how he tried to be a professional wrestler named Devin Desire, but he was told by doctors he was no longer able to wrestle. Stephen Platinum gave him the opportunity to be a commentator and a referee, and he was honored to be the referee at Stephen Platinum's last match, however he no longer felt he could be an unbiased referee. He put on his orange beret and took back his position on commentary as "The Voice of Reason, Chuck Porterfield."

Match 2: "The Hammer of the Gods" Sylar Cross(w/Adrian Armour) vs. Trey Williams (w/Jon Williams)

This match took a few minutes to really get started as both competitors sized each other up. Each time Trey gained momentum in the first half of the match, Cross would cower outside the ring.  Trey flew outside the ring and toppled both Cross and his ringside companion, Adrian Armour.  Trey spent too much time messing with Adrian Armour outside the ring and Cross gained control of the match.  Cross won the match by slamming Trey and then he threw Trey out of the ring like trash.

Match 3: Adrian Armour (w/Sylar Cross) vs. Cedric Alexander

Wrestlers from Ring of Honor wrestling typically observe a "code of honor" where they shake hands before their match. Adrian Armour barely slapped Alexander's outstretched hand, so code of honor was technically observed.  This was a vicious, high energy contest. Alexander brought out the best in Armour.   Armour tried to take the coward's way out saying "I don't need this" As he headed back upstairs, The Platinum Crusader pushed him back into the ring.  Cedric Alexander won the match.

Match 4: Big F'N Deal (Geter and Brian Blaze) vs. Velvet Jones and Shane Marx

Velvet Jones was isolated for most of the match.  Shane finally got in, and he laid waste to Brian Blaze.  He speared Blaze, but he was unable to pin him.  Velvet Jones took care of Geter outside.  Blaze paid too much attention to what was happening outside the ring.  Shane Marx got Brian Blaze with the Natural Selection and won the match.  Miss Rachel brought the microphone to Shane Marx and he said "The King is back."

Main Event Wrestling Arena owner Tim Savage announced that he will partner with area businesses to start a charity in connection with the City of Porterdale to help needy families.  The target is to raise $400 a month to help local families with groceries.

Match 5: Najasism vs. De La Vega

Najasism gave a small speech in the ring. "Wow! Thank you for the warm welcome.  It's been a year and a half since I've been in a PCW ring. It's like I've come back home. I needed to challenge one of my best opponents. De La Vega, let's do this."

This match had a lot of great moments in it.  Najasism put De La Vega in a surfboard stretch.  Najasism did a suicide dive onto Vega outside the ring.  I've truly missed watching these two in the ring together.  De La Vega did a neckbreaker, but Najasism kicked out at two.  Vega followed that with a hurricanrana takedown, but only managed a two count again.  Najasism did a sit-down powerbomb off the rope, both men were down, and Najasism got up first. He managed to pin Vega again for two.  Vega speared Najasism, but Najasism got his foot to the bottom rope.  They exchanged blows for a minute or two, and De La Vega got a two count after delivering a swinging neckbreaker to Najasism.  Najasism landed a frog splash, but De La Vega kicked out.  Najasism attempted the 450 splash but De La Vega moved out of the way.  De La Vega pinned Najasism after hitting him with a sliced bread.  Both wrestlers made a great showing in this dynamic contest.  Najasism extended his hand after the match, and De La Vega fist bumped him.

Main Event
Jon Williams vs. PCW Champion Chip Day(w/Jeff G. Bailey) for the PCW Title.

This was a very dramatic contest. Both competitors did their best to invest the audience in the action. Jon Williams just wouldn't go down despite Chip's best efforts.  Chip knocked the referee out, and Jon did a huge move from the top rope. He pinned Chip for an 11 count, but there was no referee to make the count. The referee called for the bell, and Chip was disqualified.  He retained the title.  Sylar Cross came out and beat up both Jon and Trey Williams. Adrian Armour aided Sylar Cross in beating up the Bullets.  Shane Marx came out to help the Bullets, and he went for Chip Day.  He threw Sylar and Adrian Armour out of the ring.  At the next PCW show on March 15th Chip Day, Sylar Cross, and Adrian Armour will face Shane Marx and the Washington Bullets in a 6 man tag team match.

March 15th is also PCW's 2 year anniversary in Porterdale, GA. Tickets will be $5 for this anniversary event.

Platinum Championship Wrestling--February 1, 2014--Porterdale,GA

This show was what I'd call the calm before the proverbial storm.  It was good, and it was the build for the return of Stephen Platinum on February 15th where huge things will happen.  The crowd was composed of only the diehards. It's possible that the weather from earlier in the week kept others away, but there were 56 people in The Main Event for PCW action.

Match 1: William Huckaby (w/Shawn Adams) vs. Joe Black
Winner: Joe Black

The match began with grappling, and William Huckaby attempted to pin Joe Black by rolling him up.  Black put Huckaby in a side headlock, but Huckaby rolled out.  Black elbowed Huckaby in the face and continued working the head.  Black attempted a submission where he wrapped his entire body around Huckaby, but it ended in a rope break.  Black slid out of the ring as Huckaby jumped back in.  Huckaby rolled outside.  Black jumped out of the ring. He did a tornado DDT through the second rope that knocked Huckaby to the floor.  Huckaby powerbombed Black on the apron, there was a pin attempt, but Black kicked out at 2. Huckaby elbowed Black in the shoulders then followed with a backbreaker.  Black punched Huckaby in the jaw.  Huckaby answered with a spinebuster to Black.  Huckaby slammed Black's head into the aprong then chopped him in the chest several times outside the ring.  Huckaby slammed Black's head into the ringpost. Huckaby tried to pin Black, but the referee caught him trying to put his feet on the rope for leverage.  Shawn Adams distracted the referee, and Joe Black began arguing with Adams.  Adams meant to strike Black, but Black got out of the way and Adams struck Huckaby.  Black pinned Huckaby in the confusion.

Adams and Huckaby argued over their miscommunication while Joe Black took a bow and said "Hey, Huckaby, maybe next time."  Shawn Adams asked for some competition of his own.

Match 2: Sugar Shane vs. Shawn Adams
Winner: Shawn Adams
Quasi Mandisco came to the ring.  "William Huckaby, Shawn Adams, Do you see this?  This is the mask of Supernatural, one of the fan favorites.  We got rid of Supernatural.  If you want to come back to Porterdale, then leave the ring.  This man is a member of the baddest group in professional wrestling.  He is God's gift to wrestling."

Anyone who wrestles one of Quasi Mandisco's goons instantly has a one match face turn, as Quasi now holds the title of most hated man in Porterdale.  The crowd was clearly behind Adams for this contest.

Shawn Adams dominated the match early on, but Sugar Shane quickly got control as he cornered Adams. Quasi choked Adams in the corner while the referee was distracted trying to keep William Huckaby from interfering in the match.  Shane thumbed Adams in the eye, and while the referee dealt with that Quasi interfered again.  Shane attempted a pin, but Adams kicked out.  Shane did a neckbreaker, then unsuccessfully attempted another pin.  Adams hit Shane with a couple of clotheslines.  Huckaby clocked Shane while the referee argued with Quasi.  Adams capitalized and won the match.  Quasi pitched a fit all the way up the stairs because Sugar Shane was beaten at his own game.

Jeff G. Bailey sang the praises of Chip Day.  He noted that he and Chip added a special song of celebration and that they were trying to help us escape our boring lives.  "You've no idea what is offered to you because you're too stupid to realize you've got the opportunity to be part of something great."  Bailey went on for a while, and the crowd grew rabid at his ravings.  He said he'd heard Platinum was in the building, and Def Leppard's Rock of Ages played, but instead of Stephen Platinum we were graced with Chip Day dressed in Platinum's trademark green track jacket.  Chip Day said that he, not Stephen Platinum, was the true life force of PCW.

Match 3 : Warhorse vs. Sylar Cross
Winner: Sylar Cross.

Sylar Cross dropkicked the Warhorse and pounded him in the face.  Cross followed this with a standing suplex and a huge forearm to the head of the Warhorse.  Cross hit the Warhorse three times, and the Warhorse was down in the corner.  Cross buttslammed Warhorse in the face. Cross picked Warhorse up, slammed him into the canvas, and it was over. Sylar continued his assault by twisting the Warhorse like a pretzel into his version of a lion tamer.

Match 4: Bobby Moore(w/Miss Rachel)  vs. Dynomite Soul
Winner: Dynomite Soul

Rachel spoke about February 15th.  "Stephen Platinum's been crowing a lot lately on his little vanity trip. He's taking time from those hardworking people in the back playing wrestler.  Steve, I hope you realize what happens here tonight is only a taste of what happens to you when you face Shane Marx on the 15th.

The match started on the mat.  Dynomite Soul elbowed Bobby Moore and got Moore back down.  Moore countered and put Dynomite into a headscissors, but Dynomite broke it.  Dynomite seized control of the match, but at the 5 minute mark, Moore regained the upper hand.  The referee argued with Moore while Rachel assaulted Dynomite outside the ring.  Moore stomped Dynomite's head.  Moore kicked Dynomite, then spun a forearm into Dynomite's chest.  Moore then did a neckbreaker and attempted to pin Dynomite. Dynomite kicked out.  Moore had him down in a headlock, but Dynomite managed to get up.  Dynomite hit Moore with a jawbreaker. Moore slammed Dynomite then unsuccessfully attempted to pin him.  Dynomite threw Moore into the corner. Dynomite went to the top rope and landed an elbow but did not manage the pin.  Dynomite punched Moore in the face, but Rachel broke up the next pin attempt.  Dynomite argued with Rachel while Moore got his "special" elbow pad. It made no difference. Dynomite Soul pinned Bobby Moore and got the win.

Match 5: De La Vega vs. Adrian Armour
Winner: Adrian Armour

De La Vega said that last time Adrian Armour cheated and grabbed his tights. He wanted him to come out and face him like a "Grown Ass Man".  Armour circled the ring, grabbed the black chair, sat outside the ring in the chair, and didn't enter the ring until the 9 count.  Armour got back in the ring for one second, then got out and argued with fans.  Vega followed.  Vega punched Armour in the face.  Once back in the ring Vega landed a cross body onto Armour.  The referee kept Vega from following Armour outside the ring.  Armour returned to the ring, and Vega hit him with shots to the midsection.  Armour knocked Vega down and tried to pin him, but Vega kicked out.  He tried to make him submit, but Vega broke the hold.  Armour kicked Vega and stomped his face.  Armour tried to put Vega out with a sleeper hold but Vega stayed in it.  Vega punched Armour. Armour hit Vega with a backbreaker. Vega answered with a high impact neckbreaker, but Armour kicked out of Vega's pin attempt.  Armour managed to pin Vega, but his feet were on the rope. Vega was furious that Armour cheated again, so he punched Armour in the gut and kicked him out of the ring.

Main Event: Marko Polo vs. Chip Day for the PCW Championship

Marko Polo started out strong with shots to Chip Day's face.  Polo slammed Day three times.  Day left the ring to regroup.  Day threw Polo out of the ring and Polo hit Day in the face while outside. Once they returned to the ring Day answered Polo's blows with kicks.  Polo countered with a flying clothesline.  Day's ringside companions interfered, and Polo is kicked to the outside.  Day firmly punched Polo, but Polo still returned them to the ring.  Day flipped over the rope onto Polo, but he didn't manage to put him away. Day punched Polo in the head and followed that with a crisp kick.  Day unsuccessfully attempted a pin a second time.  Day punched Polo, and Polo answered with a kick.  Day clotheslined Polo, but still only managed a 2 count.  Polo turned it around with with a clothesline, then he drove Day into the turnbuckle, slammed him, and hit him with a legdrop.  Day kicked out at 2.  Polo hit Day with a forearm, and then he attempted the Last Look , but Chip held the rope.  Chip regained control.  He repeatedly kicked Polo in the corner, lifted him to the top rope, but Polo punched Day down.  Day snapmared Polo off the top turnbuckle then kneed him in the back of the skull. Day attempted a pin, but Polo kicked out.  Polo whipped Day into the ropes then answered with the Beauty Mark. Day's companions interfered, and Day kicked Polo in the face and pinned him for the win, retaining the title. Day and his companions threw Polo out of the ring so they could celebrate.

Jeff G. Bailey said "Don't you turn our music down. Tell all your friends how Shane Marx will bury Stephen Platinum in the ring, and that stupid banner will come off the wall forever. "(He referred to the PCW Banner over the commentary table). The fans continued to yell at Jeff G. Bailey, and it seemed they were interested in arguing for the rest of the evening. He yelled into the microphone so loud at this point that it sounded like "rah rah rah rah". Still, the crowd continued to throw their insults at Day's win and Bailey's comments.

Chip Day and Sylar Cross are set to take on the Washington Bullets at PCW's next show on February 15th. The main event of the next show will be Stephen Platinum vs. Shane Marx in Stephen Platinum's last in-ring appearance.
