Platinum Championship Wrestling--December 21, 2013--Porterdale, GA

Chip Day and Sylar Cross started the show by interrupting Shane Mackey and Dynomite Soul's introduction.  They dragged Dynomite to the ring and began beating him up.  They told someone with a video camera that they weren't pointing at the real show. Chip then stated that Mason had really fell off because he lost to Chip Day. Chip also said about Fred Yehi "I get that he can run 8 miles an hour. That's impressive. I'm not trying to be the best at exercising.  I'm trying to be the best wrestler in the company."

Match 1: "Hit for Hire" Bobby Moore vs. "Marvelous" Marko Polo

They locked up, and Moore backed Polo into the corner. Moore slapped Polo and Polo returned with a slap of his own.  Moore kicked Polo and Polo caught his foot.  Polo cornered Moore and chopped him. Moore punched Polo then whipped him into the corner.  Polo reversed Moore's armbar attempt into an armdrag. Moore punched Polo, but Polo countered with a crossbody and another arm drag.  Rachel pulled Polo's ankle trying to worm her way into the match, but it wasn't enough.  Moore and Polo battled on the outside, and Polo threw Moore back into the ring.  Moore kicked Polo in the corner several times, went for a running elbow, and then unsuccessfully attempted a pin.  Moore attempted to submit Polo.  Moore landed a cross body for another unsuccessful pin attempt.  Moore distracted the referee while Rachel beat Polo up outside the ring.  Moore came out of the ring to try to finish what Rachel started, and he and Polo traded blows outside.  Moore landed a back kick.  Moore landed an elbow and attempted a pin, but Polo reversed it.  Moore kicked out.  Moore tries to hit Polo in the corner, Marko dodges, and Moore ends up hitting the turnbuckle.  Marko hit his finisher and pinned Moore. Moore struggled to get his shoulder up at the last second, but no dice. Marko won the match, and this was only the beginning of a great show.

Match 2: Sugar Shane and Brian Blaze vs. Adrian Armour and "Dynomite Soul" Eric Walker.

Blaze started the match in control of Walker.  They played on the opening segment with Walker being off his game because of the attack from Cross. Walker missed an elbow. Shane tags Blaze back in and Blaze tortured Walker's knees.  Blaze and Shane managed to cut off the ring, isolating Walker.  Shane put Walker in a figure four around the ringpost.  While the referee was distracted, Blaze terrorized Walker outside the ring.  Blaze put Walker into a half crab, then put Walker's foot onto the rope, and landed on it with all his weight for maximum damage to the leg.  Walker finally managed a tag to Armour, and Armour did several big clotheslines, followed by a running knee and a powerbomb to Shane.  Walker tagged himself in. He speared Shane then punches him.  Blaze tagged himself back in, and laid waste to Dynomite winning the match.  Dynomite lay prone in the ring, and Armour had to help him out. The attack from Mice and Men messed his knee up, and he left with a noticeable limp.

Terry Lawler talked about the fourth and final Nightmare to Remember show scheduled for February 8, 2014 in Villa Rica.  He wished us all a Very Terry Christmas.

Match 3: De La Vega vs. Mike Posey

De La Vega grabbed the mic from commentator Shane Mackey and said "What is this match? Why am I wrestling Mike Posey? I believe I am the rightful Platinum Championship Guy."  Mike Posey showed off by doing a split on the ropes.  Posey asked De La Vega to shake hands, and it looked like De La Vega would comply, but he attempted to kick Posey instead. Posey caught his foot, and took him down. Posey wrapped De La Vega up in a submission, and then slapped his butt.  Posey then kicked De La Vega in the butt.  Posey bent De La Vega into a bridge, then slammed him down.  De La Vega drop kicked Posey and attempted to pin him.  De La Vega tried a submission but Posey got up.  De La Vega did a clothesline, then attempted another pin, but this proved unsuccessful.  Vega then bombed Posey, but Posey kicked out again.  Posey kneed De La Vega in the head, but De La Vega put Posey in a face lock.  Posey stood up and kicked Vega in the head. He followed this with giant clotheslines, a spinebuster, and a slingshot dropkick.  He attempted a pin, but was unsuccessful. He followed up with a jawbreaker then a neckbreaker which led to another unsuccessful pin attempt.  Adrian Armour distracted De La Vega. Posey took advantage with a neckbreaker then sailed off the top rope to victory.

Match 4: Shane Marx vs. "Country Jacked" Corey Hollis

Marx kneed Hollis in the midsection, and Hollis answered with chops to Shane's chest.  Marx landed an uppercut to Hollis's chin. Marx left the ring after Hollis responded to that assault.  Marx punched Hollis repeatedly then elbowed him in the face.  Hollis did a beautiful dropkick.  Hollis tossed Marx into all four turnbuckles then chopped him.  Marx received a big slam form Hollis followed by a suplex.  Rachel attempted to interfere, but Hollis grabbed her by the hair. Marx threw Hollis into the ring post for messing with Rachel. Marx gained advantage by working Hollis's arm. He put Hollis in a hammer lock, but Hollis gets out. Marx clotheslines Hollis, and unsuccessfully attempts a pin.  Marx attempted another armbreaker.  Hollis punched Marx, but Marx landed a boot to Hollis's shoulder.  Hollis chopped Marx's chest, and Marx put him in an armbar again.  Hollis punched again and again and then broke away from Marx to catch his breath. Marx was on him like a dog. Hollis clotheslined Marx and really came back. He suplexed Marx then kicked him in the knee.  Hollis then did a neckbreaker to Marx, attempted a pin, but Marx kicked out.  Marx slammed Hollis, but was unable to get a three count.  Marx landedseveral shots to Hollis's head, and kneed him in the jaw, but still was unsuccessful at pinning him.  They exchanged blows.  Hollis attempted to gain control, but Marx superkicked him in the jaw. They were both down, and Hollis rolled Marx over, but Marx managed to kick out. Hollis did an airplane spin into a slam, but still only managed a 2 count on Marx.  Hollis tried to make Marx submit, but Marx countered and attempted to pin Hollis.  Marx speared Hollis and unsuccessfully attempted another pin.  Hollis rolled Marx up and made another pin attempt.  Marx was down, and Rachel tried to interfere. Hollis did his airplane spin on Rachel, and was about to slam her when Marx superkicked him. Marx then finished with Natural Selection and won the match. Hollis called for the microphone, and said "Give this man a round of applause. These people may hate you, but Shane Marx, you've earned my respect. Shake my hand or I'll punch you square in the face." They shook hands. This match wins match of the night, but Posey and Vega were a close second.

Main Event: Of Mice and Men vs. Supernatural and Fred Yehi

Sylar Cross and Fred Yehi began the match, but Chip Day was tagged in quickly.  Yehi tried to break Day's arm.  Supernatural kicked Day.  Yehi tagged in and grabbed Day by the ear. Day tried to do the same to Yehi, but was unsuccessful.  Supernatural kneed Day's arm, then did a submission similar to the Black Widow, where he wrapped his whole body around Day. Day landed several blows to the chest of Supernatural. Cross slammed Supernatural, but he was not the legal man. Yehi stepped into help Supernatural, and it took a second for the referee to regain order.  Day dragged Supernatural over to his corner then tagged in Cross. Cross elbowed Supernatural, attempted a pin, but Yehi broke up the count.  Day put Supernatural in his version of the lion tamer.  Day then did an STO to Supernatural.  Cross and Day managed to isolate Supernatural for a long time.  Day threw Supernatural into Cross's leg, then stomped on him.  Day followed this with a snap suplex. Cross went to slam into Supernatural in the corner, but Supernatural dodged. Day and Cross hit heads.  Yehi got the hot tag, and the action spilled outside the ring.  Quasi Mandisco set Supernatural on fire, and sicked the Black Chair Brigade on him. The Black Chair Brigade dragged him out the back and beat him up.  Of Mice and Men beat up Fred Yehi in the ring. Quasi Mandisco returned with Supernatural's mask in his hand, and he put it on mockingly.  Supernatural and Fred Yehi won the match by disqualification, but the beatings continued.  Terry Lawler ran to the ring to help Fred Yehi starting a fight between Lawler and Day.  Chip Day's mom ran to the ring to separate them, and Chip hit her, and yelled "You always choose him over me" Terry Lawler and Chip Day are scheduled to face off on January 4th at PCW's next show.

This show was an absolute delight, and the best way that PCW could wrap up their year.  Here's hoping that 2014 starts with as much of a bang as PCW ended 2013.

NWA Atlanta--December 14, 2013--Griffin, GA

The acoustics were terrible in the venue, and there were only 3 matches on the card. The second match was a 20 man Royal Rumble style match, and it was awesome. There were a lot of twists and turns, and the crowd really got into the various rivalries built within.

Match 1: Billy the Kid and Osborne vs. The BFF's

It was odd that the BFF's were getting cheers from this audience. The BFF's spent too much time outside the ring, and it took a long time for the match to get started.  The BFF's picked up the win when Marvelous Michael pinned Osborne.

Match 2: 20 man Saturday Night Rumble:

The participants were as followed: 1: Fry Daddy, 2: Stupid, 3: Frankie Valentine, 4: Simon Sermon, 5: J-Rod, 6: Zac Edwards, 7: Rick Michaels, 8: Rey Guapo, 9: Drew Adler, 10: Matt "Sex" Sells, 11: Drew Game, 12: Santa Claus, 13: King Conga, 14: Bill the Butcher, 15: Luke Gallows, 16:Marvelous Michael Stevens , 17: Adorable Anthony Andrews, 18: Southside Trash, 19: Brian Daniels, 20: Pain.

The match worked like the Royal Rumble where two participants start out in the ring and another enters every two minutes until all 20 men have entered the ring. Elimination occurred when a participant was thrown over the top rope and both feet touched the floor. Order of Elimination was as followed: 1. Stupid, 2: Frankie Valentine, 3: Rey Guapo, 4: Drew Game, 5: Santa Claus, 6: Rick Michaels, 7: Simon Sermon, 8: Matt "Sex" Sells, 9: Fry Daddy, 10: Zac Edwards, 11: Drew Adler, 12: King Conga, 13: Southside Trash, 14: Brian Daniels, 15: Marvelous Michael Stevens, 16: Adorable Anthony Andrews, 17: Luke Gallows, 18: Bill T. Butcher, 19: Pain. The winner was J-Rod. I'd expected that Pain would win, and that the rivalry between Andy Anderson and Pain would be renewed.  J-Rod now gets a shot at the GA Heavyweight title at NWA Atlanta's next show on January 11th.

Simon Sermon and his flaming nipple lights stole the match for a moment during his entrance.  Zac Edwards wore a Christmas Sweater vest that was charming and awesomely awful.  Rick Michaels attempted to get audience adoration by bringing an adorable dog to the ring. Frankie Valentine did quite a few nice spots in the match.  Drew Game just walked around the ring for a long time during his entrance and was eliminated about a second after the referee made him enter. He pitched a nice little fit and the referee had to remove him from ringside.  Matt Sells and Fry Daddy got into a brawl outside the ring because Matt elminated Fry Daddy after he'd already been eliminated himself.  They had a street fight of their own that excited the crowd. Matt's really become good at getting heat lately, and since Fry Daddy's NWA's favorite face of the moment, this is building into the best rivalry the promotion has. Pain accidentally eliminated partner, Bill T. Butcher, and that will likely add to the tension between the two of them. Their valet, Black Widow, certainly looked the part tonight in her leather pants and high boots. She still was very quiet and a little stiff. This match brought sunshine to a  lackluster show.

Match 3: Tyson Dean vs. Andy Anderson for the GA Heavyweight Championship

Kurt Kilgore was his usual adorable, obnoxious self, and as usual he was the best part of the match.  It was a no disqualification match, but there was little interference from Kilgore and little use of outside weapons other than a couple of chair shots from Dean to Anderson. I was way up in the bleachers, and I could see everything, so it was obvious to me when Dean hit Anderson with a chair that he really hit the steps. Tyson Dean won by choking Andy Anderson out.  The crowd was kind of dead for this match. I expected a lot more venom from the crowd when Dean won.

NWA Atlanta is taking a break for the holidays, and their next show will be on January 11th.

Platinum Championship Wrestling---December 7, 2013---Porterdale, GA

There were about 30 people in attendance.  The place felt like a graveyard. The crowd size was down, the diehard fans tried to muster enthusiasm, but it was dead.

The opening match pitted Sylar Cross against newcomer Eric Mayne.  Mayne beat Cross by using his weight against him and rolling him up.  Sylar was a sore loser and beat Mayne up.  The crowd yelled "Loser" at Sylar.

De La Vega, Ricky Nugent, and Adrian Armour participated in a triple threat match. It was good to see Priority Male Ricky Nugent return to Porterdale.  I found this match to be confusing and boring.  It did manage to set up a feud between Adrian Armour and De La Vega, but it didn't connect with me on any emotional level.  Adrian Armour won the battle, and he and De La Vega did a pose off at each other.

Sugar Shane faced Dynomite Soul Eric Walker. Sugar Shane tried to exit the match early by running back up the stairs, but Dynomite dragged him back to the ring.  Dynomite Soul won the match with a running knee to Shane.

Johnny Danger came to the ring for his popular Johnny Danger time segment. He still sported sunglasses.  He said that the past couple months were the lowest point of his life, but his fans had stood behind him through all of it.  He sang "Amazing Grace" at us to illustrate that he was once was blind but now he sees.  Responsibility was the theme of the segment.  He felt partially responsible for the stranglehold that Quasi Mandisco has on PCW.  He held Quasi responsible for the scar on his face, and stated that even though management would no longer allow him to wrestle because of his previous injuries, he wasn't dressed to wrestle, he was dressed for a fight.  Quasi Mandisco insulted the fans, and then he presented Johnny Danger with a restraining order that stated that Johnny Danger wasn't allowed to come within 2000 feet of him at any time.  He said if Johnny Danger violated that order that he'd sue PCW, Tim Savage, and Stephen Platinum. Shane Mackey kicked Johnny Danger out of the building, and according to reports on Facebook Johnny Danger's been fired from PCW. PCW is really putting the fans through the emotional wringer right now.

Mason came out and said he wasn't here to wrestle.  Chip Day attacked him from behind after Jeff G. Bailey said "Life is hard, but it's a lot harder when you're stupid. You say you're not here to wrestle, well, you don't have a choice. The match raged on. Mason went for the scales of justice and knocked out referee Chuck Porterfield.  Sylar slammed Mason, and Chip hit him with a leather belt and then choked him with it.  Chip pinned Mason because Sylar woke the ref after all that punishment.

Mason told Shane Mackey to cut the music. He wanted to set up a tag match pitting himself and Supernatural against Chip Day and Sylar Cross since Chip Day wants to take on former champions. Chip reminded Mason that he'd been run out of PCW and can no longer wrestle due to the stipulation of his match with Shane Marx at Sacred Ground.  Instead of Mice and Men will know face Fred Yehi and Supernatural. PCW will return to Porterdale on December 21st.

Platinum Championship Wrestling--November 16,2013--Porterdale, GA

Match 1: Supernatural vs. Dementia De Rose

Supernatural presented an open challenge, and he was answered by Dementia De Rose.  Supernatural stinkfaced her, and he attempted a sleeper hold.  She snap mared him over.  Dementia did two chokeslams and a side suplex. She followed that with a side head butt.  She bit Super then flipped him over in the corner, but he landed on his feet.  Super went up top, but Dementia beat him down.  She DDT'd him for a pin attempt, but he managed to power out.  Super did a frog splash on Dementia's back and picked up the pin. He quickly dashed away from Dementia's impending revenge and celebrated in the audience with his adoring fans.

Johnny Danger Time:

Quasi came out and said he planned to make an apology, but first he had a lot to say about the main event.  He complained about how Marko wanted to be "Captain Save-a-tron".  I had a hard time hearing a lot of the first part of Quasi's speech because the crowd attempted to boo him out of the building.  Quasi continued by saying that Marko was not allowed to touch anyone from MAIM until the main event. He called out Johnny Danger so he could apologize for his actions at the previous show.  Johnny Danger's face still looked badly burned from the acid, and he wore sunglasses to protect his sensitive eyes.

Quasi says to the crowd, "I'm sorry you don't understand what we do.  I'm sorry your lives will never amount to anything.  I'm sorry you live in Porterdump.  I'm sorry you're pieces of ___." (He stopped before he finished that sentence, but everyone knew where was going with it.) Quasi told Johnny that he loved him, but when he turned his back on the Priority Males he'd brought this upon himself.  He told Johnny's wife that since Johnny was injured that he would provide for her in all the best ways. She hit him and a brawl broke out.  Quasi and his minions ripped Danger's shirt and began striking him with a kendo stick.  The Washington Bullets came out to save Johnny Danger.  After the crowd reaction to this segment, I was certain that the addition of the barricades in Porterdale's Main Event Wrestling Arena were to protect the wrestlers from the crowd and not the other way around.

Match 2: God's Gift to Wrestling vs. Adrian Armour and Joe Black

William Huckaby and Joe Black started the match, but Huckaby tagged in Shawn Adams quickly.  Armour and Black double teamed Adams.  Adams chopped Armour in the corner.  Huckaby came back in and he choked Armour in the corner.  He tried to knocked Joe Black off the apron.  God's Gift to Wrestling isolated Adrian Armour for a long time.  Adams tagged in and he manhandled Armour. Adams did a beautiful dropkick, and Huckaby followed that with a back suplex.  Adams did an elbow from the top rope, but Black broke up the pin attempt.  Huckaby took out Armour with a giant clothesline.  While the referee was distracted, God's Gift to Wrestling made a fake tag. Armour got Adams with a disaster kick off the turnbuckle. Joe Black clotheslined both Adams and Huckaby then drop kicked Adams' face.  Joe Black received a big kick from Huckaby as Adams and Armour battled outside the ring.  Black DDT'd Huckaby to the floor off the top rope. Adams pinned Armour after a big elbow to his face. God's Gift to Wrestling were declared the winner, however, it appeared that Huckaby and Black were actually the legal men. The teamwork in this match was great.

Anyone who says that tag team wrestling is dead needs to go out to an independent show because tag team wrestling is alive and well here in GA.

Rachel came out to address the bullets. She taunted them with the embarrassment of their loss of their third championship match against The Big F'N Deal at Sacred Ground saying that's why they'd stayed away from Porterdale so long.

Match 3: Washington Bullets vs. Shane Marx and Bobby Moore

The match began with Jon Williams and Bobby Moore. There were a few quick tags, and at the five minute mark Shane Marx suplexed Trey Williams. Shane and Bobby made a fake tag while Chuck held Jon Williams back from involving himself in the contest after Shane taunted him.  Bobby Moore manhandled Trey and he gave him back elbows in the corner.  Bobby Moore held up his arms and asked the audience "Who sucks now?" and they responded "You suck now".  Shane managed to distract the referee a second time by riling up Jon.  When Jon finally gets in he cleans house. He kicked Bobby Moore in the head.  Shane kicked out after a pin attempt.  Shane received knees to the head, but Bobby Moore broke up the second pin attempt.  The Washington Bullets won the match by pinning Bobby Moore after their double team backstabber and cutter combination.

Match 4: Sugar Shane vs. Dynomite Soul

Dynomite Soul  performed well in this match.  Sugar Shane won the match, but the referee didn't realize he was holding the rope.

Sylar Cross and Chip Day came to the ring. He thanked PCW fans for "giving him the night off" so we could watch a night of second rate Athletic competition.  On December 7th he plans to defend the Championship against any ex-champion.  Mason's music played and Chip headed for the hills.  Nothing happened, but hopefully that was a premonition of something that could occur December 7th.  PCW hasn't heard from Mason since Sacred Ground since the stipulation for his loss was that he would leave PCW, but wrestling is much like a soap opera. Their career isn't really dead unless you see the body.

Match 5: MAIM (Quasi Mandisco, Deandre Jackson, and TMZ) vs. Marko Polo

Marko wasted no time getting this match started, and it got brutal quickly.  A fan made a sign for MAIM and they used the sign to distract the referee so Quasi could choke Marko with his scarf.  Marko survived for a long time even though the numbers game was clearly stacked against him.  Marko Polo hit Quasi with a kendo stick that Quasi had intended to use on him as TMZ beat up the referee. MAIM was disqualified because TMZ beat up the referee, and MAIM responded to this by beating Marko with a chair after the match.  The Bullets and Dynomite came out to assist Marko. Quasi stole the microphone and said "I'm tired of all ya'll interfering with stuff that's none of your business. I don't give a damn about any of you." He attacked Shane Mackey and people had to pull them apart.

PCW is having a show at Actor's Express Theatre December 4th. Tickets are available online for that show. They will be back in Porterdale on December 7th.

Pro Wrestling Resurrection--November 10, 2013--Gainesville, GA

Attendance was very low, but that's typical for PWR. I counted 25 at belltime.

The show began with All Sells Final. Johnny Danger came out with his face bandaged as a result from last week's vicious attack from Kaiden Knight at PCW.  Matt Sells said "We're thankful for all our fans, all four members of Motley Crue, the doctors who bandaged Johnny Danger's face, and penicillin."  The theme of the show was Feast or Famine. They drew several wrestlers' names, and those who were drawn chose envelopes for either good or bad consequences.

The Undead Luchadors were drawn first, and the paper envelope they chose stated that Zombie Mascaras would be the guest referee in the Women's tag match scheduled as the show's main event.

In the opening contest, Kevin Ballenger faced the International Supertstar simply known as Marko.  Kevin Blue came out during the match wearing a Marvelous Marko shirt, and he stole his U.S. title belt back from Marko.  Marko lost the match against Ballenger because of the distraction.

Marko chose an envelope next, and he was rewarded the opportunity to be General Manager for one match.  As General Manager, he felt the need to dress appropriately, so members of the Fraternity brought him a suit to the ring which he slipped on over his tights. He used his temporary power to punish Kevin Blue. He gave Blue a "warm-up" match against the giant Geter.

Geter taunted the audience as he terrorized Kevin Blue.  Blue sold it extremely well, and the attack looked vicious.  It was exactly what it should be, a form of evil punishment.  Kevin kicked out of Geter's first pin attempt showing great resilience.  He managed to dodge Geter and make him fall with his own momentum. He jumped from the top turnbuckle but Geter caught him.  Marko tried to interfere and hit Kevin with a kendo stick wile Brian Blaze distracted the referee.  Kevin got out of the way, and Marko hit Geter instead. Kevin drop kicked Geter down and got the pin.  This was the best match of the afternoon.

The next victim of Feast or Famine was "Mr. Seen on TV" Nigel Sherrod who was accompanied by Quasi Mandisco.  There were two slips of paper in his envelope. One read "A trip to China" and the other "Royal Family" They chose "Royal Family" General Manager Michael Gentry revealed that "A trip to China" meant they would have received a $500 gift card to the Hibachi Buffet.  Since they chose Royal Family, they had to put on tiaras, act like princesses, and hand out candy to the audience.  They only complied when the General Manager threatened to take away future title opportunities from The Reckoning.  They threw the candy at the audience and insulted them.  It was hilarious.

Brian Blaze faced Zach Daniels.  Brian and Zach were in the midst of a heated match when Jacob Ashworth pulled Zach out of the ring and beat him down with the aid of Nigel Sherrod and Quasi Mandisco. Quasi choked Zach with his scarf. The match ended in a disqualfication. Jacob Ashworth said "Life's tough for the champ. Enjoy your title reign while it lasts, it's almost over." Quasi added "Ya'll thought it was funny when we were handing out candy, but I don't see you laughing now.  I'd like to announce that Joe Black is joining the Reckoning.  The Reckoning is taking over. You might as well call it Reckoning Pro Wrestling."

The next bout was a 6 man tag that pitted Jacob Ashworth, Joe Black and Nigel Sherrod against The Undead Luchadors and Bulldog James Dylan.  The Bulldog chased Quasi around the ring during his entrance.  While the referee was distracted Ashworth, Black, and Sherrod teamed up on Zombie.  They isolated him for a long time and kept teasing that they'd let him tag.  Zombie moved out of the way of Ashworth's offense allowing Supernatural to come into the match.  He assaulted Black and Sherrod with kicks.  The action spilled out of the ring as Dylan threw Super into Sherrod and Ashworth. Zombie did a Suicide dive into the fray.  Joe Black and Dylan were left in the ring, and Joe Black managed to take advantage of all the chaos and win the match.

Pandora interrupted Michael Gentry while he attempted to announce the Tag Team Title match. She read the crowd the riot act and threatened to cancel her match.  She said the crowd bored her, and that she would leave if the audience didn't make more noise. "I promise you you won't get a match unless you hear noise."

God's Gift to Wrestling faced The Rock and Roll Models for the PWR Tag Team Championships.  Shawn Adams insulted Michael Gentry saying "You fat piece of crap. You're not allowed to speak our names. We are the greatest team to ever grace this company." He also called a boy in the audience an "overweight twelve year old little girl."  Adams and Huckaby didn't let Danger and Sells finish their entrance before they attacked. It must be noted that Johnny Danger's face was marked and his eye showed discoloration from the previous week's attack.  William Huckaby raked the damaged eye of Johnny Danger several times during the match. Matt Sells was isolated for a good portion of the match.  Adams attempted to put Matt down with a Sleeper hold, but that didn't work.  Adams missed a dropkick allowing Matt to tag in Danger.  Adams broke up Danger's pin attempt on Huckaby.  Adams inadvertently struck Huckaby allowing the Rock and Roll models to capitalize and retain their belts.  Huckaby took a foam football from a young boy on the front row and threw it because he was angry he lost.  Gentry commented that God's Gift to Wrestling has fallen from grace.  He said to Huckaby that if he touches anyone he'll hit him.

Pain and Pleasure (Pandora and Nina Monet) faced Dementia De Rose and Aja Pereira.  Dementia De Rose didn't have her signature rose. She instead carried a giant knife to the ring.  Pandora pulled Nina out of the ring to save her from Dementia De Rose's assault in the corner.  It was easy to see that Pandora and Nina have experience as a team when they double teamed the opposition.  Pandora threw white powder in Dementia De Rose's eyes, and they brawled outside the ring. Nina and Aja fought outside the ring on the other side. The match ended in a no contest due to a double countout.  The arena erupted in an all out brawl after that that involved the entire PWR locker room.

This show showed vast improvement over PWR's last two shows.  PWR will be back in Gainesville at the National Guard Armory on December 15 for Winter Riot.  I expect they will continue their positive momentum as they're billing this as a "supercard".

NWA Atlanta--November 9, 2013--Locust Grove, GA

People filtered in until right before the show began. Attendance was about 80. The show began with Tyson Dean and Kurt Kilgore. Kurt Kilgore told the audience that he was celebrating his two year anniversary in Locust Grove "among his peers." He said "I understand you people more than you give me credit for.  You all had dreams, but those dreams were crushed along the way.  I have a gift for you all because Kurt Kilgore has a dream.  I want to invite you all to witness Tyson Dean win the belt. That's my dream."

Frankie Valentine was Tyson Dean's opponent in the opening contest. Tyson Dean won cleanly. The crowd wasn't very animated for the opening bout despite Kilgore's best efforts to engage them and their wrath.

Zac Edwards faced King Conga.  Zac acted cowardly, and took a long time to get into the ring. King Conga showed more personality than I'd seen him show in prior outings. He attempted to channel pieces of Abdullah the Butcher and George the Animal Steele by chewing on the ropes and biting the turnbuckles.  Conga exposed one of the turnbuckles to use as a weapon. Zac Edwards capitalized on the exposed turnbuckle because Conga ran into it himself. Edwards rolled him for the pin, and the referee failed to notice his feet resting on the ropes.

Stupid, accompanied by Tweety, faced Drew Game. Stupid's interactions with the crowd amused me greatly. He claimed that he would win with mind power. Despite his claims and an attempt at interference by his ringside companion,  Drew Game won this bout.

Bobby Hayes faced masked wrestler, Rey Guapo.  Hayes wasted no time attacking Rey Guapo.  The action spilled all over the arena.  Bobby Hayes hit Rey Guapo with a trash can. Hayes pinned Guapo picking up the win.

Kurt Kilgore returned to the ring to give the audience what he called a PSA on disfunctional families just in time for the holidays. He claimed that the Andersons are now disfunctional since Andy's won the belt. "Axil has become a jobber right before our eyes.  We've put him aside now that Andy's champion."

Axil and Andy Anderson faced Bill T. Butcher and Pain.  Bill T. and Pain wasted no time attacking the Andersons. Kurt Kilgore and Tyson Dean came back out to ringside to observe the action. The interaction between Kilgore and the audience was more entertaining for a moment than the match itself.  Tyson Dean stole the Heavyweight championship belt, and Andy Anderson ran backstage after him abandoning Axil. Pain and Bill T. Butcher won the match because Andy left Axil to fend for himself. Andy returned to the ring, and Axil pushed him. He refused to shake Andy's hand, though he grudgingly handed him back his title belt. Could we soon see an Anderson family feud?

Matt "Sex" Sells faced Fry Daddy for the Georgia Max Championship in the main event.  Matt Sells claimed he was our "Rockstar Savior". He was accompanied by a manager he called his "hetero life mate" who wore short green shorts and a shirt that said "Chicks Dig Heels". Sells and Fry Daddy possessed great in-ring chemistry, and this was the best match of the evening.  Matt hit Fry Daddy with the belt while the referee was distracted, but Fry Daddy managed to kick out of that pin attempt. Matt got him with a DDT, and won the belt.  Matt Sells is the new Georgia Max Champion at NWA Atlanta.

The show had bright spots, but was generally steeped in mediocrity.  NWA Atlanta will be back in Stockbridge, GA December 14th.

Platinum Championship Wrestling---Porterdale,GA---November 2, 2013

Match 1: Warhorses 94, 1111, and 13 vs. TMZ, Kaiden Knight and Deandre Jackson.

The match was fairly entertaining, and it did a good job of establishing TMZ, Kaiden Knight, and Deandre Jackson as bad guys since the audience was unfamiliar with them for the most part. The Warhorses put up a better defense than they do in most of their matches, but TMZ, Kaiden Knight, and Deandre Jackson prevailed.

Johnny Danger Time:

Johnny Danger told us that he is a hero to the people, and he fulfilled a request for birthday wishes. He sang Happy Birthday to a fan ( the you look like a monkey and smell like one too version).  He spoke on the power of friendship and how Dynomite Soul is now one of his good friends since his injury.  He told Dynomite "You've got a lot of fight, a lot of heart.  Let this one go. Sylar's been suspended." Dynomite responded that Jeff and Sylar made two mistakes, they jumped him from behind and they left him breathing.  He said "Shane. I don't care about suspension. I know you're here, Sylar. Let's settle this like men.

Sylar came out and he and Dynomite Soul fought all over the arena. They finally got into the ring and fought there. When Dynomite gained advantage and was about to leap from the top turnbuckle, Sugar Shane clipped his leg. Sylar power slammed Dynomite, and Sugar Shane RKO'd him. Sylar said to Johnny Danger "Every single one I put down is you. I'm coming for your ass."

Match 2: Sugar Shane vs. Marko Polo

This was a pretty good match. Sugar Shane lost the match because he tried to use Dynomite Soul's cane against Marko. Dynomite came out and grabbed it away. The distraction was enough for Marko to get Shane into a submission, and Shane tapped.

Main Event: Supernatural vs. Chip Day

Supernatural hadn't entered yet as Chip Day came out. Jeff G. Bailey spewed the vitriol he's most famous for. Chip opened the casket and out popped Supernatural. Supernatural slammed Chips head into the wall and tried to choke him.  He slammed his head into the casket. Chip kicked Supernatural in the top of the head, and then slammed him into one of the benches. All this happened before the bell rang. In the middle of the match, Supernatural had Chip down, but Jeff distracted the referee. Chip won and retained the title, and he won pretty cleanly.  Whoop, there it is has become their celebratory battle cry.

Finally, the moment we'd all been waiting for arrived. At Thursday's show, the stipulation for De La Vega vs. Marko Polo was Quasi had to wear a dress if De La Vega lost. Quasi had to fulfill those requirements, and he was brought out kicking and screaming to the ring. They had him tied up in wrapping paper, and they announced him as the "Priority Female". They unveiled his look, and he wore a black and white striped dress, and he had a sparkly black scarf tied around his head.  Quasi did his best sexy girl runway walk to Rupaul's "Supermodel". He then took the mike. "Ya'll think this is exciting. Well I've got an announcement. There are no priority males, but we've got a whole new group for you."

Deandre Jackson, Kaiden Knight, and TNT came out and they threw chemicals in Johnny Danger's eyes. His wife jumped into the ring as those guys made their hasty retreat. She cried and she screamed "I hate you Quasi." Her performance sold the attack brilliantly.  Kaiden Knight was escorted from the building by Porterdale Police and arrested.  As a result of this attack, a handicap match is set up between Quasi's new group and Marko Polo.

Platinum Championship Wrestling returns to Porterdale November 16th.

NWA Atlanta October Havoc----October 26,2013----Stockbridge, GA

There were 110 people spread out in the large middle school gym, and it looked sparsely populated for the space provided.

Match1: Matt "Sex" Sells vs. Fry Daddy for the NWA Max Heavyweight Championship

Fry Daddy, who was both the  champion and the face in the matchup, entered first. I think that Matt Sells could have gotten more heat if he'd come out first. The crowd cheered Fry Daddy when he came out, and they were largely silent for Matt.  Fry Daddy won the match with a tepid response from the crowd.

Match 2: Bill the Butcher vs. Axil Anderson (No DQ Street Fight)

The match had the potential to be brutal, and it wasn't. It didn't work because the hits looked a little weak, and they weren't selling them.  Bill the Butcher won because Pain interfered on his behalf.

Match 3: 11 man Battle Royal for #1 contendership to the GA Heavyweight Championship

Participants included Zac Edwards, who cut a long promo about it sucked that he wasn't featured on the flyer. DJ Clark, The Kentucky Werewolf, Fred Kruger, Drew Adler, King Conga, Tyson Dean, and Dark Mojo. In typical, over the top rope battle royal style, the contestants were eliminated one by one. Dark Mojo, a wrestler who wore a black costume with orange dreadlocks that hung down from his mask crawled around like a spider holding the bottom rope the entire time as the others eliminated each other. I was enthralled by this creature, and actually was cheering for him to win. He eliminated Drew Adler, and then he eliminated himself allowing Tyson Dean to win the match.  He unmasked revealing himself as none other than Kurt Kilgore, who I regard as the most entertaining part of NWA Atlanta. Dark Mojo was merely a scheme to aid Tyson Dean in securing the number one contender spot.

Match 4: Beauty and the Beast vs. The BFF's vs. The Patriot and Rick Michaels.

This was a triple threat tag elimination match for the NWA Atlanta Tag Team Titles. Rick Michaels eliminated Beauty and the Beast, and then they were ejected by the referee after throwing a fit, and they called it a disqualification.  The BFF's won the match and they are the new Tag Team Champions.

Match 5: The Nature Boy Paul Lee vs. Luke Gallows

Paul Lee really needs to find his own gimmick because Ric Flair is so iconic that it feels less like homage and more like blatant plagiarism. I couldn't get behind it at all. This match started out a little bit blah and gained momentum. It got better the further they ventured from the ring.  The best part was where they came up in the bleachers and Gallows hit Lee and knocked him down the stairs.  Gallows pinned Lee and the whole crowd chanted "Yes!"

The Main Event: Pain w/The Black Widow vs. Andy Anderson for the GA Heavyweight Title

I'm generally a huge fan of managers and valets because they assist in getting heat for their guy, but The Black Widow was decidedly beige. Her name implied beauty and danger, and she gave off nothing.  Valets like wrestlers need a character or a look that creates a fantasy or adds to the story in a significant way. She wore jeans, a sleeveless top, and resembled the stereotypical image of a soccer mom. She stood by the ring, waited for her interference spots, and didn't add to the drama.

Bill the Butcher attempted to interfere on Pain's behalf, but he was stopped by Luke Gallows.  Andy Anderson won the match, and he won it very cleanly for a no DQ match.  Rick Michaels, Fry Daddy, and Luke Gallows helped him celebrate his victory in the ring.

NWA Atlanta's next show is November 9th. I'm hoping this is in their Locust Grove location because it seems their shows are sharper and more interesting in the smaller venue.

Platinum Championship Wrestling---Porterdale, Georgia----10/19/2013

Attendance was only 40, and I suspect football season and weather were the culprits.  There were only two matches on the card, but the first was an hour long iron man match between Fred Yehi and Shane Marx. I was skeptical that the two of them would be able to hold the attention of Porterdale's crowd for the entire hour, but the crowd was hot for the whole match.  As Miss Rachel entered with Shane Marx, a girl held a sign that said Miss Rachel is smart and sexy.  Rachel took the sign from her, threw it on the ground, and stomped it.

Fred Yehi won the first fall of the match when Shane Marx tapped to the Koji clutch.  Fred was on a roll as he won the second fall.  Shane came to the aid of Miss Rachel, hitting Fred Yehi with a chair.  Fred attacked her after she meddled in the match on behalf of Shane Marx.  The third fall went to Shane Marx who pinned Fred Yehi with the Natural Selection.  Shane reversed a splash attempt from Fred into a spinebuster from the second rope to score the fourth fall of the contest.  Shane also scored the fifth fall by pinning Fred.  Fred tied up the contest by pinning Shane at the 52 minute mark, and he pulled out the victory scoring his 7th fall with only 5 seconds remaining.  Porterdale fans went crazy when Fred Yehi won.

Johnny Danger did his popular Johnny Danger time segment after intermission.  He told the audience he'd been down recently since Sylar Cross ended his career. Stephen Platinum called him recently because he felt like a failure. He said "They used to call me the heart of PCW, but I tried to help Marko win against Sylar Cross, and he failed. I failed when I tried to help Supernatural win the ladder match, so I'm not the brain of PCW.  I can't get in the ring and fight anymore, so I'm not the right hand of PCW. What am I?" He explained he became angry and frustrated, but Platinum told him wisely "Johnny Danger, you are the spirit of PCW." He told the fans that they are powerful and don't even know it. He led us in some cheers against heels Jeff G. Bailey and Chip Day. They included "Jeff is stupid." and "Chip's a butthole." He then explained that Casey Kincaid has some darkness in him, but he's the type of hero that PCW needs.  Our chant for him was "Kill, Casey, Kill."

Jeff G Bailey came out with Chip Day and said that Johnny Danger Time was a waste of time.  The crowd drowned out most of Jeff G's rant with the "Jeff is Stupid chant." I managed to hear that Jeff G.Bailey wants to wipe out every trace of Stephen Platinum's existence from PCW, and that "no one will take the Empire title from him, and no one will take the PCW belt from Chip." Casey Kincaid became frustrated because he couldn't pin Chip and he took it out on the referee.  While Casey was in a shoving match with the referee, Chip capitalized and pinned Casey.  Jeff G. Bailey and Chip celebrated their victory by playing "Whoop, There It Is" and dancing in the ring. Casey cut their victory party short by spitting "green mist" in Chip's face. Chip ran away calling for Jeff G. Bailey like a crybaby.

PCW ran an exciting show that had only two matches containing 4 wrestlers, 2 managers, and a talk show segment. Both matches contained exceptional technical wrestling.

Platinum Championship Wrestling will be back October 31st at 7pm for a special Halloween show, and they will also do their usual 1st Saturday of the month show on November 2nd.

Pro Wrestling Resurrection---Gainesville, GA----October 13,2013

The crowd was still small for this show. I counted 30 in the audience, but it was an enthusiastic crowd. The show was generally better than it was last time, but still had its weak spots.

Match 1: Joe Black vs. Kevin Blue

The match started out pretty good. The Fraternity came out to ringside and sat next to me. I figured they were up to something.  Joe had Kevin in an armbreaker, and Kevin countered into a headscissors.  Joe asked for a time out saying that Kevin pulled his hair.  Joe kneed Kevin in the corner, and Kevin countered with punches.  Joe pinned Kevin, but Kevin kicked out.  Joe kneed Kevin, then got him in a lock, and he pulled his hair.  Kevin threw punches.  Joe did a leg drop, and attempted a pin.  He then did a backbreaker, then attempted a submission, and then he slammed Kevin down.  Joe delivered several chops to Kevin in the corner that were answered with kicks.  Joe then headbutts Kevin.  Kevin countered a suplex attempt with clotheslines, then a bulldog, attempting to pin Joe unsuccessfully.  Joe did a backbreaker and got a two count.  Kevin Blue won with what looked like a neckbreaker where he flips his opponent over.  Marko got up and began taunting Blue as he's still wearing the shirt he stole from the merchandise table last time, and he's still holding Kevin's U.S. championship belt.

Match 2: God's Gift to Wrestling vs. Overdrive

William Huckaby cut a   heel-turn promo where  he complained that while he was injured no one sent him letters, cards or well-wishes. He then mocked all the teams and wrestlers who just stay here in Georgia while he and his partner Shawn Adams wrestle all over.  He said he'd give his opponent "the beating of a lifetime". Their opponents, Overdrive, were smaller and quicker, and they were pretty good when it came to double teaming.  God's Gift to Wrestling won the match with a double team move where Huckaby threw the guy and Adams got him with a knee.

Match 3: The Black Ninja vs. Zach Daniels

Zach started out doing mock karate moves at the ninja.  Zach did his worst, but the Ninja kept coming back for more. Zach won the match, but there was little doubt this would be the outcome.  The match was amusing, and it seemed popular with the kids.

All Sells Final:

Johnny Danger and Matt Sells said they dropped the PWR titles while playing mini-golf, so that's why they're not wearing them today. Since Kevin Ballenger recently joined, they decided they needed to find him a date, so they set up The Dating Game for that purpose. Johnny Danger reached into his tights and pulled out a stinky bandana to blindfold Kevin Ballenger so he couldn't see the contestants. The contestants were Nina Monet, Dementia De Rose, Aja Pereira, and Grundy. The first question was "What is your ideal dinner date?" Aja answered Hooters for beer and wings.  Grundy simply grunted.  Dementia answered roadkill.  Nina said, "Anywhere as long as you're paying, but it'd better be fancy."  The second and final question was "What kind of chocolate do you like?" Nina began with expensive and foreign.  Grundy simply grunted.  Aja said "Chocolate should come from the heart."  Dementia said she didn't want something from the heart, she'd rather cut out your heart.

Aja and Grundy fought over Ballenger, and this was the lead in to the planned ladies 4 way elimination matches. During the match, the crowd was split between Aja and Grundy.  Nina Monet won this weak and confusing match.  She waited until the others were eliminated then stole the win.

Main Event:
Brian Blaze, Marko, and Geter (The Fraternity) vs. Matt Sells, Johnny Danger, and Kevin Ballenger (Rock and Roll Models)

The Rock and Roll Models tired of waiting for the Fraternity to get started, so they came and sat in the audience.  While they did that, the Fraternity mocked them by putting on their jackets.  Sells and Blaze started. Matt's armbar was reversed by Blaze.  Matt got him down into a chinlock.  Blaze attempted a pin.  Matt did a submission that Brian escaped.  Matt attemped it again to no avail.  They both went for a kick, but they caught each other's leg, and they agreed to let go on three, which Sells didn't.  Matt slammed Brian.  Matt took Brian's head between his legs and bounced it onto the canvas 5 times.  The action spilledoutside the ring as Matt and Johnny fought all three members of the group.  Geter started to do a dive onto all of them, but they ran.

Johnny Danger and Brian Blaze were in next. Johnny Danger made one pin attempt, but Blaze kicked out.  Matt Sells tagged back in, and threw punches to Brian Blaze's face.  Geter then tagged in, and did a giant suplex to Matt Sells.  Marko then tags in.  The referee is distracted by Johnny Danger while the Fraternity has Sells isolated.  Marko hadSells in a submission and he jumped to hit Matt. The third time he did it, Matt counteredwith his knees.  Danger taggged in, and so did Blaze. Danger attemptted  a pin, but Marko broke up the count.  Ballenger and Danger double teamed Blaze, then Ballenger suplexed Blaze.  Marko broke up the count again.  Marko tagged in and attempted a pin of his own to no avail.  Blaze and Ballenger exchanged blows in the corner.  Geter falsely tagged in while the referee was distracted.  He only managed a 2 count on Ballenger who was isolated for a bit.  Geter manhandled him, but he kicked out again.  Blaze came back in, and Ballenger kicked him.

Danger clotheslined Blaze then kicked him.  Marko broke up the pin yet again.  Blaze tagged in Geter, and Danger tagged in Sells.  Sells chopped Geter in the corner, and when Blaze attempttedto come in, Sells threw him out of the ring.  Marko pulled Johnny Danger out of the ring, leaving only Sells and Geter.  Matt was distracted by the action outside, and Geter slammed him hard.  Matt powered out at 2.  Geter and Blaze double teamed Sells.  Geter held Matt up and dropped him while Blaze elbowed him, and the Fraternity wins.  A major brawl broke out at the end.

Aja Pereira grabbed the microphone and said "Nina, you cheated to win, and that's not how we do things. You find yourself a partner because I want to face you November 10th." At the next show, Aja and a partner of her choosing will face Nina and a partner of her choosing.

NWA Atlanta---Locust Grove, GA---10/12/13.

There were approximately 70 fans in attendance in Locust Grove for NWA Atlanta on Saturday night.  The crowd was pretty hot for this show.

Match 1: Fred Yehi vs. Drew Adler

Fred Yehi came out with a video camera, and he yelled at the fans for cheering when Drew Adler entered. Drew Adler bills himself from the Mushroom Kingdom, wears Mario related ring gear, and enters to the Super Mario theme.

Drew and Fred began by grappling. Drew clotheslined Fred, but Fred took the coward's way out.  The ref started counting, and Fred yelled at Drew to slow down. Drew got a "Scaredy Cat" chant directed at Fred from the crowd.  They grappled again.  Drew got Fred into an armbar, and Fred managed to pull Drew down for a pin, but Drew kicked out.  Fred got hold of Drew's arm but Drew reversed it.  Fred tied Drew up in his shirt, and he had Drew's legs up around his head.  Drew managed to gain control, and he did this move where he rolled like a bowling ball.  Drew followed that with a nice suplex, but Fred kicked out of the pin attempt.

Fred went for a leg drop and missed. Drew slammed Fred, and then whipped hm into the corner.  Fred flipped over the rope and pulled Drew out of the ring.  They fought outside the ring exchanging chops.  Fred kicked Drew in the head , then he did a neckbreaker. Drew kicked out of the pin attempt. Fred put drew in a chinlock, but Drew fought his way out. Fred chopped Drew and he taunted the crowd as he continued his assault.  Drew regained control, but he didn't keep it for long. Fred slammed Drew, then went off the top rope, but Drew countered.  Drew landed a running knee. Fred countered as Drew ran out of the corner with an elbow.  Drew kicked Fred in the head and secured the victory. This was a great high energy opener. Both wrestlers are technically gifted, and they both did their best to get the crowd invested.  This is easily the match of the night.

Match 2: Axil Anderson vs. Bill T. Butcher

Andy Anderson's music played, but Tyson Dean came out instead.  He said that Andy Anderson couldn't make it because he was still suffering from the injuries he'd given him.   He called out Axil Anderson, and Tyson told Axil he had a surprise for him. They cued up Bill T. Butcher's music, and he came out to stomp Axil Anderson.  The action spilled out of the ring, and they got counted out. It was ruled a double disqualification because they went through the barricade. Bill T. Butcher kept attacking.

Matt "Sex" Sells came out and the crowd yelled "We don't want to hear you." He responded, "Each and every one of you are just like Fry Daddy. The thing that separates me from Fry Daddy is that he has to try hard." Sells really has the cocky, wanna be rock star thing down.  He said he'd lay waste to Fry Daddy later in the evening.

Match 3: Zac Edwards vs. Frankie Valentine

There was a pretty good exchange in the middle of the match where Frankie clotheslined Zac and Zac jumped over Frankie's head. Frankie got him down and did an elbow to his throat.  Zac spent a lot of time outside the ring during this match.  Zac did a tilt a whirl backbreaker to Frankie.  Zac lost the match because he was too distracted by the idea of Bowtie Power.  Frankie rolled him up.

Match 4: The BFF's vs. Rick Michaels and The Patriot.

Rick came out and told the BFF's that it's Breast Cancer Awareness month and that Real Men can Wear Pink, but they looked like they were dressed for the Pride parade going on in Atlanta this weekend.  Rainbows are for sissies. The entire crowd started chanting "Sissies" at BFF's.  Rick Michaels went to shake Adorable Anthony's hand but thumbed him in the eye.  The match barely got started when Michael Stevens left the ring.  The Patriot got into the match for a short time, and when Rick tagged in he slid under the Patriot's legs to give his opponent a low blow which the ref didn't catch. When he complained about Rick's low blow, Rick Michaels said there was nothing there to hit.  Rick was isolated for a while. He managed to make the tag but the referee didn't see it. The BFF's won.  This match didn't click for me. Rick and The Patriot seem like a mismatch, and I wish I knew the history behind why they were tagging.  In general, I found the match boring.

Match 5: Stupid vs. Shaun Tempers

Tempers chopped Stupid on every corner of the ring.  Stupid distracted the referee and Tweety attacked Shaun.  Stupid then did a neckbreaker and pinned Shaun, but he kicked out.  Stupid did a chinlock to Shaun. Shaun gained control and side slammed Stupid. Stupid regained control and did an elbow. Stupid got a pin, but Shaun got his leg on the rope. Shaun suplexed Stupid, then did a neckbreaker, and he managed a pin attempt.  Shaun got Stupid in a submission where it was likely he'd have tapped if Tweety hadn't interfered and pulled his leg onto the rope.  There was a nice scoop slam from Shaun.  Tweety tried to create her typical distractions, but Shaun won the match.

Main Event: Matt "Sex" Sells vs. Fry Daddy

Matt Sells refused to perform unless he received complete silence, and the crowd responded by screaming louder.  Fry Daddy punched and kicked Matt in the corner, and Matt took the coward's way out by leaving the ring to call a time out.  Fry Daddy pushed Mat's head into the barricade. When they got back in the ring, Matt pins but no win.  Matt played drums on Fry Daddy's head while he had him down between his knees. He danced suggestively as well.  The crowd chanted "Slater wannabe" at him the entire match.  Fry Daddy did a bulldog. Matt did a headscissors. Fry Daddy set up for a crossbody, but Matt got a pin by rolling Fry Daddy over.

This show was better in my opinion than NWA Atlanta's War Games show that I attended during the summer.  NWA Atlanta may be on the rise. Their Halloween show is Oct 26th at Stockbridge Middle School, and I will be in attendance.

Sacred Ground Chapter 4: Platinum Championship Wrestling, Oct 5, 2013

As I stood in line, I chatted with another writer who told me that about a year ago he'd heard a remark from another promoter that "Platinum was moving his gay theatre to Porterdale." It is no secret that people in wrestling circles did not respect PCW, and many believed it would die out without Platinum directly at the helm.  A year later, PCW flourishes in Porterdale with steady crowds, and PCW wrestlers have risen to prominence at several promotions around the state.  The Porterdale crowds are rabid about PCW. Last year's Sacred Ground felt like the end of an era, but this year felt more like a celebration, a way for PCW to say "Look at us, we're still here, and we're stronger than ever."

The crowd was much lighter than last year's,only around a hundred in attendance, but they were in good spirits and ready for a show.

Match 1: Platinum Royal

Entrants: Sugar Shane, Josh Colter, Grundy, Aja Pereira, Adrian Armour, Go Time Eric Jones, Dynomite Soul Eric Walker, Casey Kincaid, and Dwight Power.

Before the Platinum Royal started, Dwight Power came out and made a statement about homosexuals and minorities that made the audience glad he was eliminated first.

Eliminations were as follows: 1.Dwight Power, 2. Aja Pereira, 3. Grundy (who eliminated herself so she could get to Aja), 4. Sugar Shane, 5. Josh Colter, 6. Dynomite Soul Eric Walker, 7. Adrian Armour. 8. Casey Kincaid. Last man standing: Go Time Eric Jones.

In a Platinum Royal, the last man standing, Go Time Eric Jones, has to face the man who eliminated the most contestants, in this case, Casey Kincaid. The match showed the audience the best that Eric Jones had to offer us.  The tension between Kincaid and Eric Jones was epic, and this is the first time that the final two men eliminated in the Platinum Royal have faced each other in the final battle to win. Kincaid won the match, even with a a bad knee. Kincaid helped Eric up and they shook hands.

Match 2: Bobby Moore vs. Joey Kidman

Joey Kidman started out strong. Moore did a suplex, but after he turned around to brag to the audience only to have his suplex answered by one from Joey Kidman.  Rachel interfered outside the ring while the referee tried to count Joey Kidman out, but was distracted by Bobby Moore. Moore got Kidman into an ankle lock, but Kidman reached the rope. The next time Moore got Kidman into an ankle lock, Rachel attempted to hold the rope just out of Kidman's reach. Aria saw Rachel, and she ran around to her. Aria and Rachel got into the middle of the match, and they provided enough distraction that Bobby Moore was able to strike Joey Kidman with a loaded elbow pad and he picked up the win.

Match 3: Brian Blaze and Geter vs. De La Vega and Adam Pearce

When Quasi Mandisco made his entrance, he was his usual, not-so charming self. He came right up and put his butt in my face.  Adam Pearce hassled the referee by tying his bow-tie tighter.  When Quasi Mandisco is involved in a match, the crowd will get behind the other team, no matter how hated they are when they face our heroes.  This crowd was behind Brian Blaze and Geter by that virtue alone.  When it looked like Pearce had the match cinched, De La Vega tagged himself in. That proved to be the wrong move and Brian Blaze got the pin in one of the most exciting exchanges PCW audiences have seen.  De La Vega and Pearce fought after their match, and Adam Pearce hit Vega. He then did a piledriver on Quasi and blew his nose on him.  If Pearce ever wrestles in Porterdale again, he'd be a hero.

Match 4: Washington Bullets vs. Los Ben Dejos

When Los Ben Dejos entered, they chased the photographer around the ring. I noticed that the Bullets were sporting some new pink and blue ring gear.  One of Los Ben Dejos sat in a lady in the audience's lap, and she looked traumatized.  The match was fast paced and exciting,  and the Washington Bullets advanced to the finals. Both of the tag team semi-final matches tied as my pick for match of the night.

Match 5: Mia Yim vs. Leva Bates vs. Dementia De Rose (Platinum Trinity Match)

Mia Yim and Leva Bates often double teamed Dementia De Rose to keep her out of the ring so they could focus on eliminating each other.  Dementia De Rose was the first eliminated, but neither Yim nor Bates managed to pin the other during the two minute period that De Rose was barred from the ring. Mia Yim managed to pin Leva Bates at the second that De Rose reentered the ring, and De Rose made quick work of Yim.

Match 6: Fred Yehi vs. Steven Walters

Adam Pearce was presented with the 2013 Platinum Standard award for his contributions to both PCW and the sport of professional wrestling as a whole.  In his honor, Fred Yehi and Steven Walters put on a match that exemplified skill and sportsmanship.  There were a few cheers for Fred Yehi, and the match itself showcased both competitors agility, athleticism, and wrestling ability. It was non-stop action the whole time.  Walters tapped to Fred's koji clutch.

Match 7: Sylar Cross vs. Marko Polo

Johnny Danger Time: Johnny Danger came out wearing a green track suit and a giant watch that reminded me of Flava Flav. He said "I'm still standing, and I'm still putting smiles on people's faces. It don't get much better than that.  I'm not afraid anymore and neither is Marko. Sylar comes out, and Johnny Danger said he'll kick his butt with the power of song. Marko's Magic Mangina theme started and both Stephen Platinum and Johnny Danger sang loudly and proudly.

Immediately after this display of musical amusement, the stretcher match between Sylar and Marko begins. They start off taking turns pounding each other in the corner.  Marko tried to pick Sylar up for a slam, but fell backwards. Sylar tried to put Marko on the stretcher, but Polo raked Sylar's face.  Sylar regained control and whipped Polo into the corner, but he missed his next move.  Polo got Cross down with a clothesline. Chip Day came out and kicked Marko Polo in the head, and Jeff G. Bailey held a chair in the corner. Sylar went to ram Marko into the chair, but Marko got away.  Cross ran himself into the chair.  Sylar then hit Marko twice with the stretcher outside the ring.  Sylar got Marko on the stretcher, and though Marko did his best to unhook himself, Sylar managed to get him across the line and win the match.

Match 8: Shane Marx vs. Mason

Mason and Marx waste no time going at each other. Shane Marx won after a hard fought victory. This was a loser leaves town, last man standing match. I cried when I realized it was Mason leaving. Mason gave us a heartfelt speech. "10 years ago is when the Demi-God started. 9 years ago is when I met you, and it's been 9 years of of me building and you destroying. Porterdale's always felt like home. The memory of 14 stitches in my head only lives in the minds of these people." Mason, we will miss you, and I hope that Loser Leaves Town doesn't mean forever.

Match 9: Brian Blaze and Geter vs. Washington Bullets

These are the two top teams that PCW has, and it's no surprise they're in the finals.  It was a chaotic, action packed match, and Brian Blaze got the pin.  The Big F'n Deal comprised of Geter and Blaze are Tag Team Season Champions two years in a row. Both they and the Bullets have won twice, so next year's Tag Team finals will be the two of them, and the team that wins the most matches during the season gets to choose the stipulation.

Match 10: Supernatural vs. Chip Day for the Unified PCW/Empire title

Jeff G. Bailey exchanged heated words as Supernatural hung the titles from the ceiling.  Super used the ladder to slam Chip into the apron. They fought for a while, and the two of them both ended up on the ladder, and Super grabbed the Empire title, and Chip the PCW title. Platinum comes out and introduces the new PCW belt, making the two former titles invalid. The match is restarted. Super laid Chip Day across the ladder draped on the ropes, and he jumped off the giant ladder. Platinum jumped into the ring after Bailey jumped in to help Chip. Bailey threw white powder into Platinum's face, and Chip Day won the match.  Chip Day is now PCW champion.  In the midst of Platinum's heartfelt speech about, Jeff G. Bailey yells "Thank you for being a loser." Casey Kincaid will cash in his title shot he earned from the Platinum Royal at the October 19th show against the new PCW champion, Chip Day.

The thing that struck me most about Sacred Ground was the fact that hometown talent won their matches against out of town talent, and the out of town talent was used to enhance the story going on in the hometown show rather than be the attraction themselves.  This differs from other shows I've attended with prominent guest stars where the guest star typically comes out on top. The show was a success, and it's time for a new year of story lines, heroes, villains, and drama.

On October 19th a new chapter begins with an Iron Man match between Shane Marx and Fred Yehi, and the championship match between Casey Kincaid and Chip Day.

Pro Wrestling Resurrection 9/22/13

The crowd for this show was non-existent. There were only 19 people total, and this blogger isn't privy to numbers of how many of those weren't somehow connected to the show. The show felt boring, and it was only two hours long. Nothing really drew my interest. PWR is cutting back their schedule to monthly shows, and will be running on the second Sunday of each month.

Match 1: Kevin Blue vs. Zach Daniels (Champion vs. Champion)
No Contest

The first contest pitted U.S. Champion Kevin Blue against Heavyweight Champion Zach Daniels. Kevin Blue is the recognized U.S. Champion, but Marko has the belt. They called the wrestlers out before there was a referee in the ring. Then it appeared that they tried to cover the fact that the referee was late by having the competitors and the referee switch roles. It was an attempt at cuteness, but it fell flat.  The match was interrupted by The Fraternity, who beat up both competitors. The match was ruled a no contest.   Marko stole a Kevin Blue shirt from the table, and put it on and mockingly said he was Kevin Blue's biggest fan. Kevin Blue chased him out of the building. Jacob Ashworth came out to mock Zach Daniels saying that he became champion while he was with the Reckoning but he's losing without them. The match between Zach Daniels and Jacob Ashworth was set for December 8th. Both Daniels and Ashworth were given the rest of the night off. If Jacob Ashworth lays a finger on Zach Daniels before their match on December 8th, then he'll lose his title shot.

Match 2:

The Fraternity (Geter and Brian Blaze with Marko) vs. William Huckaby and Dave Sanders
Winners: The Fraternity

William Huckaby sells really well. Geter's chops look menacing.  Brian Blaze got the pin for The Fraternity, and as usual they cheated. There was the greatest fan sign across the way that read "Geter, Please don't eat me. I want to live."

Match 3: Chad Case vs. Cousin Cletus
Winner: Cousin Cletus

The crowd really got into Cousin Cletus's silliness. He tried to connect with the audience by square dancing with them.  Cousin Cletus won the match because Chad Case's attempt to throw powder backfired, and the powder ended up in his own face.

Match 4: Matt Sells vs. Joe Black
Winner: Matt Sells

. The match starts out a little slow as Joe Black refused to wrestle until the crowd stopped cheering for Matt, then Matt decides he'll take a little break too. Matt Sells has improved a lot over the past few months, and this was a pretty good match as a result.  There was one funny moment in the match where Joe Black is accused of pulling Matt's hair and Joe says he was trying to kill a spider in it. Matt pinned Joe Black, and the crowd cheered for that. The Rock and Roll models are the most popular wrestlers in PWR.

After a brief intermission came All Sells Final. Joey Kidman wasn't there, so they chose security guard Troy Bennett as their third judge. The contestants Kevin Ballenger and Aja  went through karaoke, cheesy pick up lines, and finally their special talents. In the end, both were picked to join the Rock and Roll Models. Quasi came out and said "No one cares." He then says that his people will show us all what wrestling is.

Match 5: Johnny Danger and Aja vs. Adrian Armour and Grundy
Winners: Adrian Armour and Grundy

I like PWR's mixed gender matches because they are actually mixed gender. They don't follow the rules that WWE sets where the same gender opponent must immediately be tagged.  Aja is very cute and has a good personality. She's got a lot of potential. The match was won because Adrian Armour hit Johnny Danger in the head with his tag team belt while the referee was distracted.  He then pulled Grundy on top of Danger and she picked up the pin. The match seemed messy, and it didn't hold my interest. After the match, Aja beat up Quasi, and they had to help him out of the ring. It was kind of funny when they rolled him out of the ring and let him fall to the floor.

Main Event:
Rico Suave, Supernatural, Marko and Kevin Ballenger in a 4 way elimination match for #1 contender to the PWR Heavyweight Title.

I enjoyed the spot where Rico Suave had Supernatural on the chair and he kicked him off it. Marko eliminated Supernatural and Supernatural's mom threw a drink at Marko for beating up her baby. Security did nothing, and as a result it felt manufactured.  Marko won the match by pinning Ballenger. The Fraternity came to beat up Ballenger, but the Rock and Roll Models intervened. The Fraternity are supposed to take on the Rock and Roll Models on October 13th.

Platinum Championship Wrestling 9/21/13

Attendance was down from last show, an estimated 50.  The die-hards came out, but it seemed no one wanted to brave the rainy weather.

The show began with Rachel talking about how that little "wanna-be" cheerleader Aria needs to mind her own business and keep her nose out of places it doesn't belong when it comes to Joey Kidman's match against Bobby Moore at Sacred Ground 4.  Chip and Sylar took the microphone next, and they announced they are giving their points accumulated during the Tag Team Season to Los Ben Dejos, a tag team coming in from Florida for Sacred Ground.  This worked because Chip and Sylar have singles matches during Sacred Ground which are more important to the overall story arc.  If that weren't the case, them giving up their shot at being tag team champions wouldn't really speak to me, as they seem currently to want all the gold and all the glory. Jeff G. Bailey was suspended because he didn't make his previous engagement to be handcuffed to Johnny Danger. Jeff G. Bailey rarely stays gone for long, so I'm pretty sure he'll make an appearance at Sacred Ground.

Match 1: Sugar Shane and Josh Colter vs. The Washington Bullets

Winners: The Washington Bullets.

The match was explosive with lots of twists and turns. Both teams worked really well together. Sugar Shane and Josh Colter play cocky heel in a lovely fashion, and they made you really want the Bullets to slap them down.  The Bullets won this match the way they do best by double teaming the opposition.

Match 2: Matt Von Reaper vs. El Zombie Mascaras

Winner: El Zombie Mascaras

When two faces fight each other, the crowd's loyalties are torn. In this case, both Matt Von Reaper and Zombie Mascaras are crowd favorites, and the crowd seemed afraid to get solidly behind either wrestler for fear of hurting the other's feelings. This doesn't work well because the audience sits there quietly, and there are no real emotional moments. The two wrestlers shook hands at the beginning of the match. Zombie Mascaras appears to be a more solid wrestler than Matt Von Reaper though Matt Von Reaper has a more compelling character.  Reaper did get a tiny bit of audience support, but the audience really sat through the match with little response. Zombie pinned Von Reaper after a nice slam, and he was really sweet after his win and held up Reaper's hand too.

Match 3: De La Vega vs. Dynomite Soul

Winner: De La Vega

De La Vega came out accompanied by Quasi Mandisco. Quasi Mandisco was brilliant. He nearly made the audience revolt.  He went off on someone about what a real man was, and managed to make them angry enough they left for a bit. They came back in a few minutes.  Bad guys exist to make the audience hate them, and Quasi Mandisco really did his job at this show.  When he was told he really upset the crowd he said I don't give a damn about them. Dynomite Soul came out after that to play  hero, and the wrestling portion of this segment began.  Vega plays the part of cowardly scum well, as he kept leaving the ring to avoid having to face Dynomite Soul.  Vega got the pin because Dynomite was distracted by having to deal with Quasi's shenanigans.

Next we had Johnny Danger Time.  Johnny Danger started by saying "Everyone's afraid of something." An older lady in the audience said "Nope." Danger responded "Well you're hardcore." He then asked audience members what they were afraid of, and one responded spiders. Johnny Danger said to the young man, "Marry someone tougher than you to kill them for you." Danger said "I'm afraid of heights, but if my best friend Supernatural can climb a ladder to win the belt then I can climb a ladder tonight." He climbed to the top of the ladder, and Chip Day and Sylar Cross came out. They told him he had to shut his show down. He responded "You buttholes ended my career. You're not taking my show." It looked like Sylar and Chip would knock him off the ladder, but Marko and Supernatural came out to his aid. The audience went crazy out of concern that Sylar and Chip would succeed in their efforts to hurt Johnny Danger. Chip Day is deliciously evil, and he makes one want to slap the smirk right off his face.

Match 4: Dementia De Rose and Warhorse 10101 vs. Big F'n Deal (Brian Blaze and Geter)

Winners: Big F'n Deal

Dementia De Rose spoke about the first ever women's trinity match in Sacred Ground History. She warned Mia Yim and Leva Bates, "When you step into my ring, you step into my nightmare."  This match was a squash, which was expected since a Warhorse was involved. This match was less about the match itself and more about setting up for Sacred Ground.  Big F'n deal were the 2012 Tag Team Season winners, and they said "This is our place, our show, we are a big F'n deal." The bullets came out and got in their faces, and De La Vega came out and proclaimed that he would be Tag Team Champions. He's scheduled to compete at Sacred Ground with a mystery partner.

Main Event: Of Mice and Men (Chip Day and Sylar Cross) vs. Supernatural and Marko Polo

Winners: Supernatural and Marko Polo

Of Mice and Men inspire true hatred from the Porterdale crowd.  The match took a minute to get started as fighting took place outside the ring, but this really established how much these two teams despise each other.  When it looked like Of Mice and Men were going to lose this contest, Sylar hit Marko with the stretcher causing a disqualification.  They attacked referee Chuck Porterfield for calling the match a disqualification. The entire locker room came out after they attacked the referee, and an all out brawl ensued.  Tensions were at an all time high, but then everything drastically halted as the Sacred Ground 4 trailer began playing on the screen. The pause was awkward and completely unnatural.  The video paused for a minute because it had to buffer, and Brian Blaze yelled "Hit somebody." and the brawl restarted.  The trailer's placement in the show interrupted the flow of the action immensely.

At the very end of the show, Supernatural came out to the ring with a ladder holding both belts. He climbed to the top of the ladder and laid both belts up there. The image of the belt at the top of the ladder was the last thing the crowd saw before they exited the building. This show was pretty good, but it felt less like a show and more like a teaser trailer for the bigger event, Sacred Ground 4, which is set to take place at 7pm on October 5th.

The definition of a good show

I've gotten feedback from various people on the recaps that I write, and most of them say that I'm too soft on shows, and I think that is true. I am unwilling to come right out and say that a show made no sense or that it was terrible. The main reason I've held back for so long is because I felt the need to draw more fans to independent wrestling. I felt the need to let people know about various promotions and what they offer. The time for that is over.

I go to an independent wrestling show almost every weekend in order to keep this blog varied and interesting. I watch shows that are amazing, and I watch shows that make wonder why they exist. Most exist on a sliding scale somewhere in between.  Does it bother me that a dreadful show can draw 300 people while a stellar show only draws 100? It bothers me more I realized. It bothers me that my reviews could be seen as propaganda in support of dreadful wrestling shows simply because I've never felt qualified enough to voice my real opinion.

I've struggled over the definition of a good show for the past few days, and the answer is so simple that it should have hit me months ago. Make me care.  Tell me a story, and draw me into your world.  If I'm cheering for faces or booing heels just out of habit, then it's not enough.  Elicit a genuine emotional response from me.  Look me in the eyes, insult me, rip my heart out, and make me scream.  Make me laugh, make me cry, make me feel.  Make me look forward to what happens next. If you're a heel, you should be pure evil. Your job is doubly hard because you've got to be evil enough to make me care about the hero. If you're a face, make me love you.

I'm certain there are other opinions on what makes a good wrestling show, but those are what I plan to judge shows on from here on out.  It's not personal at all. It's just what I feel is best for the fans.

Southern Fried Championship Wrestling 9/14/13

The National Guard Armory in Monroe was packed with approximately 300 wrestling fans.  The show began 45 minutes late because they were having problems with their ring, and the ring needed a major overhaul. When the show began, the ring was shaky, and it seemed to slide back and forth when the guy who ran the ropes tested it.  While fans waited, several popular faces signed autographs and mingled with fans.  Leatherface, who is patterned after the psychotic killer in Texas Chainsaw massacre, is a fan favorite at Southern Fried Championship Wrestling, and he posed for pictures with children and gave out high fives. Ian saw him and smiled. He ran up to him, shook his hand, and came back and said "Mom, he's a face." Leatherface signed Ian's show poster, and he could not have been a happier child.

The show started with the president, Big Charlie. He called Ace Heffner to the ring to explain his actions at the previous show. He locked Vic Roze out of the cage at their previous War Games event, so he was unable to compete.  Vic stood at the door waiting to see what transpired between Charlie and Ace. Ace said that he locked Vic out of the cage for himself. He wanted these redneck fans to come to the shows to see him rather than come to see Vic.

Ace told the manager of The Company that he wanted to buy a spot in the Heavyweight Tournament.  He wanted to buy Vic Roze's spot. It wasn't for sale though.  He asked if he could buy Chris Nelms' spot instead. They stood there talking about Nelms, and Nelms was near the announcer's booth still within earshot of the conversation. He had no reaction to the idea that his manager just sold his spot in the tournament, and he would no longer be in competition for the heavyweight title. Ace said that his entry in the tournament would be King Conga, the 400 pound monster from the Congo.  The crowd begins chanting USA.

The first four matches were part of the first round of the tournament to crown the first SFCW Heavyweight Champion.

Match 1: King Conga vs. Leatherface

Leatherface started out pretty strong when he and Conga locked up intially.  After the first exchange between the two, Conga left the ring for a five count to compose himself.  Conga headbutted Leatherface several times in the corner.  The referee was distracted several times allowing Heffner and Conga's other handler interfere.  Conga tried to put Leatherface in a sleeper, but Leatherface got up.  He gave several shots to Conga's abdomen.  Conga headbutted Leatherface, and he managed to get him down for the pin.  Conga threw something in the referee's eyes and then he beat Leatherface up with his chainsaw after the bell rang.  Leatherface advanced to the next round of the tournament because he won by disqualification.

Match 2: Bodacious Blade vs. Monster Maul

Blade began like he was going to really fight, but he faked Maul out.  Blade sat on Maul on the rope, and there were more heel shenanigans as Blade's manager distracted the referee.  Maul chopped Blade in the chest, and he hit him in the corner with a headbutt.  The second time Maul attempted to get him in the corner Blade tripped him. Blade locked in a sleeper hold on Maul and managed to get the win.

Match 3: Terry Lawler vs. Jason Blackman

Terry Lawler was amusing as a cocky heel that taunted the audience. He posed for a group of female fans, and his rear end received a cheer.  The match started out pretty good. Lawler did a neckbreaker and got a pin, but Blackman kicked out.  The action spilled out of the ring as both men did their best to gain control.  Lawler got a pin again, but Blackman got his foot on the rope.  Lawler hid brass knuckles in his tights and used them while the referee's back was turned, but it didn't matter. Despite his attempt to cheat, Blackman prevailed by using a small package.

Match 4: Roscoe Ray vs. Vicious Vic Roze

Vicious Vic Roze is truly over with the Monroe crowd.  It could be because of his easily chanted catch phrase "Who's Your Daddy?"

Vic dominated the match for the few minutes that it lasted before The Empire made a run in, and attacked both men.  The match was declared a no contest though the crowd chanted "5 more minutes." There were only 3 men who made it to the next round of the tournament.

Match 5: The Empire vs. Pain and Pleasure

After a 10 minute intermission, Dewitt Dawson came out and trashed the Monroe crowd in typical heel manager fashion. He then said The Empire would take on all comers to prove they were the best tag team.  Pandora and Nina Monet, collectively known as Pain and Pleasure answered their call.  The Empire seemed reluctant to fight them at first, but acquiesed.  Pandora and Shane started off. Pandora hit him in the face then took him down with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. She tagged in Nina who did a leg drop.  Shane tagged in Casey Kincaid who pressed Nina's head into the mat with his knee.  Marx  tagged back in, and he taunted Pandora by holding Nina just out of reach so she couldn't tag.

Kincaid tagged in for a brief stay, then Marx tagged back in. Nina crawled through Shane's legs and tagged Pandora.  Shane picked up Pandora, and Pandora tried to counter by taking him down. Casey Kincaid and Nina Monet were fighting and Casey was knocked off the apron.  Marx had Pandora pinned, and Nina went to break up the count.  Shane attempted to deal with Nina, and Pandora knocked Shane down by sliding under him.  Nina was still on top of Shane, so Pandora and Nina both pinned Shane for the win.

Shane and Casey attacked Nina and Pandora because they were angry they'd lost to women. Roscoe Ray and Vic Roze came out to assist Nina and Pandora, and The Empire ran off.  Vic Roze said The Empire showed they weren't real men because real men would never lay their hands on a lady.  That promo diminished the fact that Pain and Pleasure had gone toe to toe with The Empire and won.  Pain and Pleasure came out and accepted the challenge from male team, and they stood strong until The Empire attacked them in a cowardly fashion.

Roscoe Ray will team with Vic Roze to take down The Empire on Oct 26th.  Vic called out The Empire, and said "Why wait till the 26th? If ya'll got the cajones let's do this now." He waited for a minute, then said "If you're not coming out, Empire, we're coming to you, and Vic and Roscoe went backstage to possibly fight with The Empire.

Match 6: Extreme Rumble

Weapons were laid on the edge of the ring, and it was quite the assortment.  There was a bucket, a plastic severed leg, a cookie sheet, a record album, a telephone cord, and a teddy bear. The teddy bear had a jar of hot sauce stuck into the space on its back where stuffing would go.

The acoustics in the place weren't great, and the music obscured some of the announcements.  Participants included James Powers, The Patriot, The Canadian, Jamie Holmes, Demarko Knight, Fred Yehi, Lobo, Driveby,  a cowboy named Billy with a fringe jacket, and a man whose shiny pants had one short leg and one long leg.  The rules to this match were a bit hard to follow, but it seemed that participants could be eliminated by pinfall or submission anywhere in the arena.  There were no countouts or disqualifications.

The star of this match was Demarko Knight. He did a DDT to Driveby off the apron, and he also did a good enziguri to Jamie Holmes.  Demarko Knight eliminated the most participants.  Lobo eliminated Jamie Holmes by getting him to tap to an armbar over the rope.  The Patriot and The Canadian spent most of the match behind the crowd, and their portion of the match kind of got lost in the shuffle.  People and weapons were all over the armory. The match devolved into chaos the way that multiple person street fights tend to. Lobo used saran wrap to tie up Driveby.  Lobo reaches out to shake Demarko's hand, but Demarko answers the gesture by using a cutter to eliminate him.  There are no friends in a battle royal.  Demarko does another cutter to Driveby then finishes with a kachina clutch.  Demarko now has a title shot on October 5th in Eatonton.

Match 7: 4 team Tag Elimination Match: Jacob Ashworth and Supernatural vs. Irish Car Bomb vs. Two guys in Pink and Black vs. Chris and Jerry Nelms

The match was originally scheduled to be a three team elimination match, but The Company's manager came out and said because he gave up Nelms's spot in the Heavyweight Championship Tournament that The Company would be in this match or he'd stay on the microphone until it happened. The match became a four team match, and the winning team would be SFCW Tag Team Champions. As they entered, Chris Nelms took a fan's sign and tried to rip it up, but the fan snatched it back before he finished.  He had to take it a second time to finish the job.

Jacob Ashworth and Jerry Nelms started. Jacob Ashworth looked good as always. He's toned up and lost a lot of weight. His moves look crisp, and he's progressed a lot in the past year.  Jacob tagged in Supernatural, and they double team Jerry Nelms.  Supernatural tagged Ashworth back, and he continued his assault on Nelms.  Ashworth tagged in a member of Irish Car Bomb, and Jerry tagged in a member of the team wearing pink and black.  This is where things went awry.

The guy from Irish Car Bomb got a chair and hit one of the guys in pink and black with a chair.  Irish Car Bomb then ran away to the backstage area. The pink and black team stayed outside the ring trying to recover from the attack they received from Irish Car Bomb. Both teams were counted out and eliminated from match. Is there a history between Irish Car Bomb and the other team? The whole thing seemed like nothing more than a device to get rid of two teams quickly, so they could hurry the action along.

Ashworth takes Supernatural and launches him like a missile. Chris Nelms catches him, but Ashworth jumps at Nelms himself.  Once they returned to the ring, Supernatural attempted to hit Nelms, but it looked like he was hitting a wall.  Nelms tried to squeeze the life out of Supernatural.  Supernatural tags in Ashworth. Ashworth powerbombed Jerry Nelms into the corner then Supernatural double stomped him as Ashworth held him down.  Jerry Nelms hit Supernatural with brass knuckles. The referee did not see it, as he was distracted by Chris Nelms and Ashworth outside the ring.  The Company are now SFCW Tag Team Champions.

Match 8: Leatherface vs. Jason Blackman

This was the only semi-final match in the tournament because of the "No Contest" ruling in Vic Roze and Roscoe Ray's 1st round match. They chose to have these two face each other and allow Blade to continue onto the final without competing against a second opponent. The reasons for this were unexplained, and it might have made more logical sense to have made the final match a triple threat and skipped this match altogether.  Leatherface delivered a reasonable chokeslam to Blackman a few minutes into the match.  He was distracted by King Conga coming out to the ring, and Jason Blackman was able to capitalize by rolling him up. Jason Blackman won the semi-final match.

Match 9: Blade vs. Jason Blackman

The final match for the Heavyweight title started immediately after the semi-final match. Blade came out swinging.  Blackman clotheslined Blade. Blade threw Blackman into the corner. They fought for a little longer. Blade won by pinning Blackman.  Blade is now the SFCW Heavyweight Champion and The Nelms Brothers are Tag Team Champions. The Company runs everything in SFCW for the moment.

Demarko Knight came out and talked about how he is the current number one contender for the belt, and how he'll beat Blade Oct 5th in Eatonton.

As the crowd left, The Patriot came out and spoke and it was announced that he and The Canadian will have a flag on a pole match where the loser will have to run around the ring three times wrapped in their opponent's flag.

Southern Fried Championship Wrestling will be in Eatonton on October 5th.

Platinum Championship Wrestling 9/7/13

The Main Event was packed tonight with rabid wrestling fans, and it was surprising since the UGA hadn't ended. Football season killed attendance last Fall, but PCW fans knew that tonight would be the second to last show before PCW's largest annual event, Sacred Ground, so they came out in droves to witness it. Over the past year, Porterdale embraced PCW and made a community out of it. There is a more devoted fanbase in Porterdale, GA than in any other wrestling show around the area. Could it be because the show is held in such a small venue? Could it be that the same loyal group of fans come to every show? There is no set answer, but tonight's crowd was pumped and ready to see wrestling.

Shane Marx and Rachel came out.  Rachel informed the crowd that Jeff G. Bailey was not able to make it.  Shane Mackey decided to make things interesting and said they would handcuff Rachel to Johnny Danger during Sylar Cross's match with Supernatural instead. The crowd went crazy for this suggestion, as Rachel is the second most despised character in Porterdale, second only to Quasi Mandisco.

Mason came out to face Marx, and Marx wasted little time before jumping Mason.  Mason slammed Marx's head into the table. Mason and Marx exchanged blows right in front of us. No match started because they'd not yet entered the ring. This was a fight. They both came to the conclusion that PCW wasn't big enough for the both of them, and their next confrontation would be the final battle between Mason and Shane Marx. Their four year rivalry will end in a Last Man Standing and Loser Leaves Town Match at Sacred Ground 4 on October 5.

Match 1: Matt Von Reaper vs. Chip Day

Chip Day whaled on Matt Von Reaper from the beginning of the match, and he aggressively kicked Reaper nearly decapitating him.  Matt Von Reaper answered with a nice dropkick of his own.  Chip regained momentum, and there was a beautiful snap to the kicks delivered.  Chip Day from this time last year has returned.  Sylar entered the ring with a stretcher, and hits Reaper with it.  He then picked it up and dropped it on Reaper. Chip tossed Reaper out of the ring and he landed right at my feet.  Marko came out to Reaper's aid, and he said that people like Sylar Cross were the reason why he was afraid to go to school as a kid. He added "I am no longer eight years old" and he and Sylar are scheduled to have a stretcher match at Sacred Ground. The loser will not be able to leave of his own accord, and will have to be carried out on a stretcher.

Match 2: De La Vega and Sugar Shane w/Quasi Mandisco vs. Marko Polo and Joey Kidman w/Aria

Quasi wore a very pretty floral scarf tonight. Shane Mackey made a crack about how Quasi wasn't supposed to wear white after Labor Day. Quasi responded, "The promoter thinks he's a funny guy. You can't make jokes about a grown ass man.  We scoured the United States for a worthy partner, so show your respect for Sugar Shane.

Joey Kidman and Sugar Shane started out the match. Joey clotheslined Shane after dodging his offense, and he then did an armbar and stomped Shane's arm.  Joey dragged Shane to his corner and tagged in Marko.  Marko wasn't in long before he tagged Joey back in.  Sugar Shane did a big wicked looking leg drop.  Vega threw Kidman into the corner.  Vega distracted the referee with a bogus claim of hair pulling.  The bad guys beat up Joey in the corner while the referee struggled to keep Marko from "illegally" coming in the ring to the aid of his partner who was clearly being cheated.  Vega yelled "Grown Ass Man" before doing an elbow drop. The crowd still hates De La Vega now more than they ever loved him when he was a good guy.

Things looked bleak for our hero, Joey Kidman, as he was isolated for a while.  Joey ducked under another of Sugar Shane's clotheslines, and he managed to take Sugar Shane down. While Shane was down, Joey managed to tag in Marko.  Marko hit the bad guys' heads together. Marko and Joey won the match. Joey did a spear to Sugar Shane, and Marko got the pin.  Quasi cowered away from Marko as his team exited in defeat.

Johnny Danger Time:

Johnny Danger did one of the funniest, yet most surreal things in the world, a popular segment known as Johnny Danger time. During the first segment he called a couple kids into the ring and explained to them about the concept of hope. Each of them were asked what they hope for, the first hoped for a PS3, the second a Wii game, and the third was asked to repeat after Johnny Danger who apparently wanted to be kidnapped by aliens who look like Xena: Warrior Princess, be taken back to their home planet where he'd be taught about "love" and have ice cream for breakfast with Godzilla everyday. It seemed that our hero, Johnny Danger, might have overdosed on bad internet fanfiction when broadcasting these hopes.

He made some serious statements about wanting to pierce Sylar Cross's dark heart and send him to hell. Then he addressed Dynomite Soul in song to the tune of La Bamba. His song was titled "You used to be a butthole." It felt like PCW  crossed into the Twilight Zone.  Dynomite Soul entered the ring like he planned to hit Johnny Danger, but he joined in the song. Quasi came out and tried to appeal to Dynomite saying that he could be the next world champion if he joined with him. Johnny Danger got a pie and gave it to Dynomite to serve.  He offered to share part of the pie with Quasi and Dynomite pied Quasi in the face.  The whole crowd chanted "You got served." Quasi sold the pie shot to the hilt. He fell back like a tree.  Dynomite Soul is now on the side of our heroes.

Match 3: Sylar Cross w/Miss Rachel vs. Supernatural w/Johnny Danger

This match was a no disqualification match with the stipulation that if Sylar Cross won the match he got five minutes in the ring with Johnny Danger whose PCW career he ended a few weeks prior.  If Supernatural won, he got five minutes in the ring with Rachel.

Ian yelled "You stink" at Rachel as she passed by, and she responded "You should smell yourself." He said he wanted to throw her in a dumpster. Rachel is reluctantly handcuffed to Johnny Danger. The match was good, but watching Danger and Rachel argue outside the ring was just as amusing. That byplay should have factored into the match more than it did.  Sylar manhandled Supernatural easily for a little while, but he missed a clothesline and then Supernatural hit him in the gut, and managed offense for a short time.  Sylar felled him with a clothesline. Super kicked out of a pin attempt after Sylar threw him around like a baby doll.

Sylar did a standing supplex to Supernatural, and Supernatural kicked out after another pin attempt.  Supernatural got up on the top rope for a supplex and managed to get Sylar down. Sylar kicked out.  Sylar chopped Supernatural in the chest outside the ring, and he threw him gut first into the apron. Rachel dragged Johnny Danger to the back of the arena, and she introduced a chair into the match. disqualification  and Supernatural ended picking up the chair to try togain advantage.  Sylar punched the chair and the chair hit Supernatural in the face.  Sylar punched Supernatural in the face then threw him into the corner. He picked up the chair and hit the ring. The chair bounced into the rope and hit him in the head.  Supernatural picked up the chair and hit Sylar with it repeatedly knocking him out to win and retain the title.

Supernatural received as an added bonus five minutes in the ring with Rachel. He pulled Rachel's hair and threw her around the ring for a little bit, but Chip Day came out. He and Sylar double teamed Supernatural. Sylar held him up while Chip Day kicked him in the head.  The whole PCW locker room came out and a brawl ensued.  The crowd was at frenzy level by this point.  Aria yelled to Rachel that if she gets involved in Joey Kidman vs. Bobby Moore at Sacred Ground she would get her hands on her herself.

Match 4: Big F'n Deal (Brian Blaze and Geter) vs. Go Time Eric Jones and Zombie Mascaras

Eric and Geter started. Geter nearly took off Eric's head.  Blaze took out Zombie Mascaras so he could offer no support to his partner. Geter squashed Eric and there was nothing Zombie could do to help.  It was quick, but believable because Geter is a monster.

Match 5: Platinum Royal for a shot at Supernatural's title at Sacred Ground 4

The rules to a Platinum Royal are simple.  Participants are eliminated by being thrown out of the ring and both feet must touch the floor. It does not have to be a top rope elimination. The idea that it doesn't have to be a top rope elimination goes against what fans are used to from television, so it is good that Mackey points out the rules every time they have one.  The last person standing faces the person who eliminates the most competitors in a match to determine the winner.

Sugar Shane, Chip Day, Sylar Cross, Brian Blaze, Joey Kidman, Dynomite Soul, Matt Von Reaper, Mason, Zombie Mascaras, Marko Polo, Eric Jones and De La Vega participated. Bodies flew everywhere, and Chip Day was the last man standing.  Sylar Cross eliminated the most participants, so now Chip and Sylar had to face each other to determine number one contender.  It was a typical heel team mockery of the concept of a match. They barely slapped at each other and kept asking each other to lay down.  Chip finally pinned Sylar. Did the fans really expect a match from these traitors? Chip yelled at the audience to shut up because they are not part of the show. He let Supernatural pick the stipulation for their championship match at Sacred Ground.  The audience said "Ladders" and it was ladders. Supernatural came out from the back holding a ladder. Ladders are where Supernatural really excels.

PCW will be back in Porterdale in two weeks on September 21. No matches for that show were announced. All of the matches set were for Sacred Ground on Oct 5th. Since it's the show before the big one, PCW will likely have something memorable.

Until next bell time,
Wrestling Fan Girl.
