Pro Wrestling Resurrection 9/22/13

The crowd for this show was non-existent. There were only 19 people total, and this blogger isn't privy to numbers of how many of those weren't somehow connected to the show. The show felt boring, and it was only two hours long. Nothing really drew my interest. PWR is cutting back their schedule to monthly shows, and will be running on the second Sunday of each month.

Match 1: Kevin Blue vs. Zach Daniels (Champion vs. Champion)
No Contest

The first contest pitted U.S. Champion Kevin Blue against Heavyweight Champion Zach Daniels. Kevin Blue is the recognized U.S. Champion, but Marko has the belt. They called the wrestlers out before there was a referee in the ring. Then it appeared that they tried to cover the fact that the referee was late by having the competitors and the referee switch roles. It was an attempt at cuteness, but it fell flat.  The match was interrupted by The Fraternity, who beat up both competitors. The match was ruled a no contest.   Marko stole a Kevin Blue shirt from the table, and put it on and mockingly said he was Kevin Blue's biggest fan. Kevin Blue chased him out of the building. Jacob Ashworth came out to mock Zach Daniels saying that he became champion while he was with the Reckoning but he's losing without them. The match between Zach Daniels and Jacob Ashworth was set for December 8th. Both Daniels and Ashworth were given the rest of the night off. If Jacob Ashworth lays a finger on Zach Daniels before their match on December 8th, then he'll lose his title shot.

Match 2:

The Fraternity (Geter and Brian Blaze with Marko) vs. William Huckaby and Dave Sanders
Winners: The Fraternity

William Huckaby sells really well. Geter's chops look menacing.  Brian Blaze got the pin for The Fraternity, and as usual they cheated. There was the greatest fan sign across the way that read "Geter, Please don't eat me. I want to live."

Match 3: Chad Case vs. Cousin Cletus
Winner: Cousin Cletus

The crowd really got into Cousin Cletus's silliness. He tried to connect with the audience by square dancing with them.  Cousin Cletus won the match because Chad Case's attempt to throw powder backfired, and the powder ended up in his own face.

Match 4: Matt Sells vs. Joe Black
Winner: Matt Sells

. The match starts out a little slow as Joe Black refused to wrestle until the crowd stopped cheering for Matt, then Matt decides he'll take a little break too. Matt Sells has improved a lot over the past few months, and this was a pretty good match as a result.  There was one funny moment in the match where Joe Black is accused of pulling Matt's hair and Joe says he was trying to kill a spider in it. Matt pinned Joe Black, and the crowd cheered for that. The Rock and Roll models are the most popular wrestlers in PWR.

After a brief intermission came All Sells Final. Joey Kidman wasn't there, so they chose security guard Troy Bennett as their third judge. The contestants Kevin Ballenger and Aja  went through karaoke, cheesy pick up lines, and finally their special talents. In the end, both were picked to join the Rock and Roll Models. Quasi came out and said "No one cares." He then says that his people will show us all what wrestling is.

Match 5: Johnny Danger and Aja vs. Adrian Armour and Grundy
Winners: Adrian Armour and Grundy

I like PWR's mixed gender matches because they are actually mixed gender. They don't follow the rules that WWE sets where the same gender opponent must immediately be tagged.  Aja is very cute and has a good personality. She's got a lot of potential. The match was won because Adrian Armour hit Johnny Danger in the head with his tag team belt while the referee was distracted.  He then pulled Grundy on top of Danger and she picked up the pin. The match seemed messy, and it didn't hold my interest. After the match, Aja beat up Quasi, and they had to help him out of the ring. It was kind of funny when they rolled him out of the ring and let him fall to the floor.

Main Event:
Rico Suave, Supernatural, Marko and Kevin Ballenger in a 4 way elimination match for #1 contender to the PWR Heavyweight Title.

I enjoyed the spot where Rico Suave had Supernatural on the chair and he kicked him off it. Marko eliminated Supernatural and Supernatural's mom threw a drink at Marko for beating up her baby. Security did nothing, and as a result it felt manufactured.  Marko won the match by pinning Ballenger. The Fraternity came to beat up Ballenger, but the Rock and Roll Models intervened. The Fraternity are supposed to take on the Rock and Roll Models on October 13th.
