Platinum Championship Wrestling March 2, 2013

The highlights of this show were the second and third rounds of the tournament to win the PCW/Empire unified titles.

The show began with a big six man tag match. It was God's Gift to Wrestling (William Huckaby and Shawn Adams) partnered with Matt "Sex" Sells against Johnny Danger, Matt Von Reaper and Sylar Cross. Johnny Danger and William Huckaby start the match. Huckaby yells at Johnny Danger "Godzilla is a punk". Matt Sells is tagged in. Johnny slams Matt Sells twice. Matt sells misses a move, Johnny Danger tags in Reaper. Then Sylar is tagged in. Huckaby breaks up the count as Sylar nearly pins sells. Adams distracts the ref as Von Reaper is tied up in the enemy corner. Huckaby has Reaper pinned, Johnny Danger breaks up the count. Huckaby tags in Matt Sells. Reaper tags in Sylar Cross who cleans house. Adams and Huckaby both enter the ring to get Sylar. His teammates come in to stop them. The match turns into chaos for a minute, but Sylar wins it getting the pin on Huckaby.

Rachel comes out and says that Shane Marx should get a by since there is one person without competition because neither Sylar nor Jagged won their match. Sylar Cross says " Jagged Edge is nothing. This is my house." A dog collar match between Sylar Cross and Jagged Edge has been set for the March 16th St. Patrick's day extravaganza.

The second match was part of the second round of the tournament. Fred Yehi took on Trey Williams of the Washington bullets. I don't like face vs. face matches or heel vs. heel matches. I think wrestling is better when the audience has a common hero or a common enemy. During this match, it felt like the darling of Porterdale, Trey Williams was taking on the darling of the internet and the podcasts, Fred Yehi. I was in Yehi's camp, and my son was in Williams' camp. Fred was more aggressive in this match than I'd seen him in previous outings. Fred Yehi wins with a springboard rollup into a very nice bridge pin.

Match 3 was another second round bout. Chip Day fought against Supernatural. This was another one of those matches where no one knew who they wanted to get behind because Chip and Supernatural are both crowd favorites. Mostly during this match the crowd was very quiet. Chip kicked Supernatural, and Super caught his leg. Supernatural did a nice frog splash for a 2 count. Chip Day did a very pretty spinning kick followed up by a piledriver. He also kicked Super in the head. Super, however, keeps going. Day double stomps Supernatural. Supernatural kicks Day in the head, and then he dodges Day's kick. Supernatural double stomps Day on the ring apron. Chip Day is counted out. Chip does seem to be favoring his ankle after the match as well. Chip comes back into the ring, and in a show of sportsmanship raises Supernatural's hand.

The next match was also a second round contest. Pump Yo Brakes took on Geter. I find Pump Yo Brakes to be merely annoying. I don't hate him with the same zeal I hate Shane Marx or Jagged Edge. Apparently the rest of the Porterdale audience despises him, as they all cheered for Geter. And Geter delivered, as it was a complete squash.

In the third round of the tournament Shane Marx faced Fred Yehi. My child has a strange sense of humor. He yelled at Miss Rachel as she walked by that he wanted to roast her like a hot dog and put her in a hot dog bun. He also said he would like to lock Shane Marx in a cat room. Marx and Yehi exchanged blows at the start. The exchange ends in a clothesline in Fred's favor. Marx turns it around with a spinebuster, and it's Shane's turn to pound Fred on the mat. Shane Marx is a great wrestler. He's won titles across the state of Georgia, but I despise him. Fred supplexes Shane, and he goes for three like Chavo Guerrero or Kurt Angle. Marx wins the match finally because Rachel trips Yehi and holds his legs during the pin. Please ban the girl from ringside for the final. She is a cheater, and she does nothing but cause trouble. I am not unbiased in this matter.

The second third round match took place between Supernatural and Geter. As much as I love Supernatural, I actually expected this match to be a squash, and predicted that Super had no chance. Super is trying to kick Geter and his kicks are just bouncing off. Geter throws Super around the ring like a ragdoll. Geter does a giant chop to Super's chest, and Geter pins him for a 2 count. He attempts to choke Super. My friend's son yelled at Geter "Supernatural is going to behead you". Geter yells back "What's your name kid?" which makes him cower back, but he eventually answers. So for a bit, everytime Geter hit Super he would say "This is for you Issac." At some point a chair was introduced into the match. Two fans, Debra and Penny said they thought Supernatural needed an equalizer. I am not certain this is how the chair was introduced, this is merely hearsay. Geter threw supernatural into a chair, this didn't get him disqualified because he didn't pick up the chair. Super tried to take out Geter's legs. Chuck Porterfield got knocked out during the match. Geter does what I'd like to call "a giant slam of doom" to Supernatural. John Clay, my friend's other son yelled out at Geter while this is happening, "Geter, fight your true enemy, diabetes." Supernatural took advantage of the referee's ailment and got the chair. He double stomped Geter on the chair after firing repeated shots with it. Supernatural wins. The referee never saw the chair. Wait, was I talking about a chair? Our hero would never use a chair. This blogger would never encourage her husband to pick up said chair and fold it up and place it against the wall, nor would she condone the idea that Tim would sit in front of the chair to further conceal its existence. Chair, what chair?

The final showdown between Shane Marx and Supernatural will take place on March 16th. Please let our hero win this showdown, we've suffered under the reign of Marx long enough. I will not be blogging this event, however, as I am attending UIW's Redemption show that evening. Two wrestling shows in one day would be very difficult for me and my family.
