Southern Fried Championship Wrestling 9/14/13

The National Guard Armory in Monroe was packed with approximately 300 wrestling fans.  The show began 45 minutes late because they were having problems with their ring, and the ring needed a major overhaul. When the show began, the ring was shaky, and it seemed to slide back and forth when the guy who ran the ropes tested it.  While fans waited, several popular faces signed autographs and mingled with fans.  Leatherface, who is patterned after the psychotic killer in Texas Chainsaw massacre, is a fan favorite at Southern Fried Championship Wrestling, and he posed for pictures with children and gave out high fives. Ian saw him and smiled. He ran up to him, shook his hand, and came back and said "Mom, he's a face." Leatherface signed Ian's show poster, and he could not have been a happier child.

The show started with the president, Big Charlie. He called Ace Heffner to the ring to explain his actions at the previous show. He locked Vic Roze out of the cage at their previous War Games event, so he was unable to compete.  Vic stood at the door waiting to see what transpired between Charlie and Ace. Ace said that he locked Vic out of the cage for himself. He wanted these redneck fans to come to the shows to see him rather than come to see Vic. 

Ace told the manager of The Company that he wanted to buy a spot in the Heavyweight Tournament.  He wanted to buy Vic Roze's spot. It wasn't for sale though.  He asked if he could buy Chris Nelms' spot instead. They stood there talking about Nelms, and Nelms was near the announcer's booth still within earshot of the conversation. He had no reaction to the idea that his manager just sold his spot in the tournament, and he would no longer be in competition for the heavyweight title. Ace said that his entry in the tournament would be King Conga, the 400 pound monster from the Congo.  The crowd begins chanting USA.   

The first four matches were part of the first round of the tournament to crown the first SFCW Heavyweight Champion. 

Match 1: King Conga vs. Leatherface

Leatherface started out pretty strong when he and Conga locked up intially.  After the first exchange between the two, Conga left the ring for a five count to compose himself.  Conga headbutted Leatherface several times in the corner.  The referee was distracted several times allowing Heffner and Conga's other handler interfere.  Conga tried to put Leatherface in a sleeper, but Leatherface got up.  He gave several shots to Conga's abdomen.  Conga headbutted Leatherface, and he managed to get him down for the pin.  Conga threw something in the referee's eyes and then he beat Leatherface up with his chainsaw after the bell rang.  Leatherface advanced to the next round of the tournament because he won by disqualification.

Match 2: Bodacious Blade vs. Monster Maul

Blade began like he was going to really fight, but he faked Maul out.  Blade sat on Maul on the rope, and there were more heel shenanigans as Blade's manager distracted the referee.  Maul chopped Blade in the chest, and he hit him in the corner with a headbutt.  The second time Maul attempted to get him in the corner Blade tripped him. Blade locked in a sleeper hold on Maul and managed to get the win.

Match 3: Terry Lawler vs. Jason Blackman

Terry Lawler was amusing as a cocky heel that taunted the audience. He posed for a group of female fans, and his rear end received a cheer.  The match started out pretty good. Lawler did a neckbreaker and got a pin, but Blackman kicked out.  The action spilled out of the ring as both men did their best to gain control.  Lawler got a pin again, but Blackman got his foot on the rope.  Lawler hid brass knuckles in his tights and used them while the referee's back was turned, but it didn't matter. Despite his attempt to cheat, Blackman prevailed by using a small package.

Match 4: Roscoe Ray vs. Vicious Vic Roze

Vicious Vic Roze is truly over with the Monroe crowd.  It could be because of his easily chanted catch phrase "Who's Your Daddy?"

Vic dominated the match for the few minutes that it lasted before The Empire made a run in, and attacked both men.  The match was declared a no contest though the crowd chanted "5 more minutes." There were only 3 men who made it to the next round of the tournament.  

Match 5: The Empire vs. Pain and Pleasure

After a 10 minute intermission, Dewitt Dawson came out and trashed the Monroe crowd in typical heel manager fashion. He then said The Empire would take on all comers to prove they were the best tag team.  Pandora and Nina Monet, collectively known as Pain and Pleasure answered their call.  The Empire seemed reluctant to fight them at first, but acquiesed.  Pandora and Shane started off. Pandora hit him in the face then took him down with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors. She tagged in Nina who did a leg drop.  Shane tagged in Casey Kincaid who pressed Nina's head into the mat with his knee.  Marx  tagged back in, and he taunted Pandora by holding Nina just out of reach so she couldn't tag. 

Kincaid tagged in for a brief stay, then Marx tagged back in. Nina crawled through Shane's legs and tagged Pandora.  Shane picked up Pandora, and Pandora tried to counter by taking him down. Casey Kincaid and Nina Monet were fighting and Casey was knocked off the apron.  Marx had Pandora pinned, and Nina went to break up the count.  Shane attempted to deal with Nina, and Pandora knocked Shane down by sliding under him.  Nina was still on top of Shane, so Pandora and Nina both pinned Shane for the win.

 Shane and Casey attacked Nina and Pandora because they were angry they'd lost to women. Roscoe Ray and Vic Roze came out to assist Nina and Pandora, and The Empire ran off.  Vic Roze said The Empire showed they weren't real men because real men would never lay their hands on a lady.  That promo diminished the fact that Pain and Pleasure had gone toe to toe with The Empire and won.  Pain and Pleasure came out and accepted the challenge from male team, and they stood strong until The Empire attacked them in a cowardly fashion.

Roscoe Ray will team with Vic Roze to take down The Empire on Oct 26th.  Vic called out The Empire, and said "Why wait till the 26th? If ya'll got the cajones let's do this now." He waited for a minute, then said "If you're not coming out, Empire, we're coming to you, and Vic and Roscoe went backstage to possibly fight with The Empire.

Match 6: Extreme Rumble

Weapons were laid on the edge of the ring, and it was quite the assortment.  There was a bucket, a plastic severed leg, a cookie sheet, a record album, a telephone cord, and a teddy bear. The teddy bear had a jar of hot sauce stuck into the space on its back where stuffing would go. 

The acoustics in the place weren't great, and the music obscured some of the announcements.  Participants included James Powers, The Patriot, The Canadian, Jamie Holmes, Demarko Knight, Fred Yehi, Lobo, Driveby,  a cowboy named Billy with a fringe jacket, and a man whose shiny pants had one short leg and one long leg.  The rules to this match were a bit hard to follow, but it seemed that participants could be eliminated by pinfall or submission anywhere in the arena.  There were no countouts or disqualifications. 

The star of this match was Demarko Knight. He did a DDT to Driveby off the apron, and he also did a good enziguri to Jamie Holmes.  Demarko Knight eliminated the most participants.  Lobo eliminated Jamie Holmes by getting him to tap to an armbar over the rope.  The Patriot and The Canadian spent most of the match behind the crowd, and their portion of the match kind of got lost in the shuffle.  People and weapons were all over the armory. The match devolved into chaos the way that multiple person street fights tend to. Lobo used saran wrap to tie up Driveby.  Lobo reaches out to shake Demarko's hand, but Demarko answers the gesture by using a cutter to eliminate him.  There are no friends in a battle royal.  Demarko does another cutter to Driveby then finishes with a kachina clutch.  Demarko now has a title shot on October 5th in Eatonton. 

Match 7: 4 team Tag Elimination Match: Jacob Ashworth and Supernatural vs. Irish Car Bomb vs. Two guys in Pink and Black vs. Chris and Jerry Nelms

The match was originally scheduled to be a three team elimination match, but The Company's manager came out and said because he gave up Nelms's spot in the Heavyweight Championship Tournament that The Company would be in this match or he'd stay on the microphone until it happened. The match became a four team match, and the winning team would be SFCW Tag Team Champions. As they entered, Chris Nelms took a fan's sign and tried to rip it up, but the fan snatched it back before he finished.  He had to take it a second time to finish the job. 

Jacob Ashworth and Jerry Nelms started. Jacob Ashworth looked good as always. He's toned up and lost a lot of weight. His moves look crisp, and he's progressed a lot in the past year.  Jacob tagged in Supernatural, and they double team Jerry Nelms.  Supernatural tagged Ashworth back, and he continued his assault on Nelms.  Ashworth tagged in a member of Irish Car Bomb, and Jerry tagged in a member of the team wearing pink and black.  This is where things went awry. 

The guy from Irish Car Bomb got a chair and hit one of the guys in pink and black with a chair.  Irish Car Bomb then ran away to the backstage area. The pink and black team stayed outside the ring trying to recover from the attack they received from Irish Car Bomb. Both teams were counted out and eliminated from match. Is there a history between Irish Car Bomb and the other team? The whole thing seemed like nothing more than a device to get rid of two teams quickly, so they could hurry the action along. 

Ashworth takes Supernatural and launches him like a missile. Chris Nelms catches him, but Ashworth jumps at Nelms himself.  Once they returned to the ring, Supernatural attempted to hit Nelms, but it looked like he was hitting a wall.  Nelms tried to squeeze the life out of Supernatural.  Supernatural tags in Ashworth. Ashworth powerbombed Jerry Nelms into the corner then Supernatural double stomped him as Ashworth held him down.  Jerry Nelms hit Supernatural with brass knuckles. The referee did not see it, as he was distracted by Chris Nelms and Ashworth outside the ring.  The Company are now SFCW Tag Team Champions. 

Match 8: Leatherface vs. Jason Blackman

This was the only semi-final match in the tournament because of the "No Contest" ruling in Vic Roze and Roscoe Ray's 1st round match. They chose to have these two face each other and allow Blade to continue onto the final without competing against a second opponent. The reasons for this were unexplained, and it might have made more logical sense to have made the final match a triple threat and skipped this match altogether.  Leatherface delivered a reasonable chokeslam to Blackman a few minutes into the match.  He was distracted by King Conga coming out to the ring, and Jason Blackman was able to capitalize by rolling him up. Jason Blackman won the semi-final match.

Match 9: Blade vs. Jason Blackman

The final match for the Heavyweight title started immediately after the semi-final match. Blade came out swinging.  Blackman clotheslined Blade. Blade threw Blackman into the corner. They fought for a little longer. Blade won by pinning Blackman.  Blade is now the SFCW Heavyweight Champion and The Nelms Brothers are Tag Team Champions. The Company runs everything in SFCW for the moment.

Demarko Knight came out and talked about how he is the current number one contender for the belt, and how he'll beat Blade Oct 5th in Eatonton.

As the crowd left, The Patriot came out and spoke and it was announced that he and The Canadian will have a flag on a pole match where the loser will have to run around the ring three times wrapped in their opponent's flag. 

Southern Fried Championship Wrestling will be in Eatonton on October 5th. 

Platinum Championship Wrestling 9/7/13

The Main Event was packed tonight with rabid wrestling fans, and it was surprising since the UGA hadn't ended. Football season killed attendance last Fall, but PCW fans knew that tonight would be the second to last show before PCW's largest annual event, Sacred Ground, so they came out in droves to witness it. Over the past year, Porterdale embraced PCW and made a community out of it. There is a more devoted fanbase in Porterdale, GA than in any other wrestling show around the area. Could it be because the show is held in such a small venue? Could it be that the same loyal group of fans come to every show? There is no set answer, but tonight's crowd was pumped and ready to see wrestling. 

Shane Marx and Rachel came out.  Rachel informed the crowd that Jeff G. Bailey was not able to make it.  Shane Mackey decided to make things interesting and said they would handcuff Rachel to Johnny Danger during Sylar Cross's match with Supernatural instead. The crowd went crazy for this suggestion, as Rachel is the second most despised character in Porterdale, second only to Quasi Mandisco. 

Mason came out to face Marx, and Marx wasted little time before jumping Mason.  Mason slammed Marx's head into the table. Mason and Marx exchanged blows right in front of us. No match started because they'd not yet entered the ring. This was a fight. They both came to the conclusion that PCW wasn't big enough for the both of them, and their next confrontation would be the final battle between Mason and Shane Marx. Their four year rivalry will end in a Last Man Standing and Loser Leaves Town Match at Sacred Ground 4 on October 5. 

Match 1: Matt Von Reaper vs. Chip Day

Chip Day whaled on Matt Von Reaper from the beginning of the match, and he aggressively kicked Reaper nearly decapitating him.  Matt Von Reaper answered with a nice dropkick of his own.  Chip regained momentum, and there was a beautiful snap to the kicks delivered.  Chip Day from this time last year has returned.  Sylar entered the ring with a stretcher, and hits Reaper with it.  He then picked it up and dropped it on Reaper. Chip tossed Reaper out of the ring and he landed right at my feet.  Marko came out to Reaper's aid, and he said that people like Sylar Cross were the reason why he was afraid to go to school as a kid. He added "I am no longer eight years old" and he and Sylar are scheduled to have a stretcher match at Sacred Ground. The loser will not be able to leave of his own accord, and will have to be carried out on a stretcher.

Match 2: De La Vega and Sugar Shane w/Quasi Mandisco vs. Marko Polo and Joey Kidman w/Aria

Quasi wore a very pretty floral scarf tonight. Shane Mackey made a crack about how Quasi wasn't supposed to wear white after Labor Day. Quasi responded, "The promoter thinks he's a funny guy. You can't make jokes about a grown ass man.  We scoured the United States for a worthy partner, so show your respect for Sugar Shane. 

Joey Kidman and Sugar Shane started out the match. Joey clotheslined Shane after dodging his offense, and he then did an armbar and stomped Shane's arm.  Joey dragged Shane to his corner and tagged in Marko.  Marko wasn't in long before he tagged Joey back in.  Sugar Shane did a big wicked looking leg drop.  Vega threw Kidman into the corner.  Vega distracted the referee with a bogus claim of hair pulling.  The bad guys beat up Joey in the corner while the referee struggled to keep Marko from "illegally" coming in the ring to the aid of his partner who was clearly being cheated.  Vega yelled "Grown Ass Man" before doing an elbow drop. The crowd still hates De La Vega now more than they ever loved him when he was a good guy. 

Things looked bleak for our hero, Joey Kidman, as he was isolated for a while.  Joey ducked under another of Sugar Shane's clotheslines, and he managed to take Sugar Shane down. While Shane was down, Joey managed to tag in Marko.  Marko hit the bad guys' heads together. Marko and Joey won the match. Joey did a spear to Sugar Shane, and Marko got the pin.  Quasi cowered away from Marko as his team exited in defeat. 

Johnny Danger Time:

Johnny Danger did one of the funniest, yet most surreal things in the world, a popular segment known as Johnny Danger time. During the first segment he called a couple kids into the ring and explained to them about the concept of hope. Each of them were asked what they hope for, the first hoped for a PS3, the second a Wii game, and the third was asked to repeat after Johnny Danger who apparently wanted to be kidnapped by aliens who look like Xena: Warrior Princess, be taken back to their home planet where he'd be taught about "love" and have ice cream for breakfast with Godzilla everyday. It seemed that our hero, Johnny Danger, might have overdosed on bad internet fanfiction when broadcasting these hopes. 

He made some serious statements about wanting to pierce Sylar Cross's dark heart and send him to hell. Then he addressed Dynomite Soul in song to the tune of La Bamba. His song was titled "You used to be a butthole." It felt like PCW  crossed into the Twilight Zone.  Dynomite Soul entered the ring like he planned to hit Johnny Danger, but he joined in the song. Quasi came out and tried to appeal to Dynomite saying that he could be the next world champion if he joined with him. Johnny Danger got a pie and gave it to Dynomite to serve.  He offered to share part of the pie with Quasi and Dynomite pied Quasi in the face.  The whole crowd chanted "You got served." Quasi sold the pie shot to the hilt. He fell back like a tree.  Dynomite Soul is now on the side of our heroes. 

Match 3: Sylar Cross w/Miss Rachel vs. Supernatural w/Johnny Danger

This match was a no disqualification match with the stipulation that if Sylar Cross won the match he got five minutes in the ring with Johnny Danger whose PCW career he ended a few weeks prior.  If Supernatural won, he got five minutes in the ring with Rachel. 

Ian yelled "You stink" at Rachel as she passed by, and she responded "You should smell yourself." He said he wanted to throw her in a dumpster. Rachel is reluctantly handcuffed to Johnny Danger. The match was good, but watching Danger and Rachel argue outside the ring was just as amusing. That byplay should have factored into the match more than it did.  Sylar manhandled Supernatural easily for a little while, but he missed a clothesline and then Supernatural hit him in the gut, and managed offense for a short time.  Sylar felled him with a clothesline. Super kicked out of a pin attempt after Sylar threw him around like a baby doll. 

Sylar did a standing supplex to Supernatural, and Supernatural kicked out after another pin attempt.  Supernatural got up on the top rope for a supplex and managed to get Sylar down. Sylar kicked out.  Sylar chopped Supernatural in the chest outside the ring, and he threw him gut first into the apron. Rachel dragged Johnny Danger to the back of the arena, and she introduced a chair into the match. disqualification  and Supernatural ended picking up the chair to try togain advantage.  Sylar punched the chair and the chair hit Supernatural in the face.  Sylar punched Supernatural in the face then threw him into the corner. He picked up the chair and hit the ring. The chair bounced into the rope and hit him in the head.  Supernatural picked up the chair and hit Sylar with it repeatedly knocking him out to win and retain the title.

Supernatural received as an added bonus five minutes in the ring with Rachel. He pulled Rachel's hair and threw her around the ring for a little bit, but Chip Day came out. He and Sylar double teamed Supernatural. Sylar held him up while Chip Day kicked him in the head.  The whole PCW locker room came out and a brawl ensued.  The crowd was at frenzy level by this point.  Aria yelled to Rachel that if she gets involved in Joey Kidman vs. Bobby Moore at Sacred Ground she would get her hands on her herself. 

Match 4: Big F'n Deal (Brian Blaze and Geter) vs. Go Time Eric Jones and Zombie Mascaras

Eric and Geter started. Geter nearly took off Eric's head.  Blaze took out Zombie Mascaras so he could offer no support to his partner. Geter squashed Eric and there was nothing Zombie could do to help.  It was quick, but believable because Geter is a monster.

Match 5: Platinum Royal for a shot at Supernatural's title at Sacred Ground 4

The rules to a Platinum Royal are simple.  Participants are eliminated by being thrown out of the ring and both feet must touch the floor. It does not have to be a top rope elimination. The idea that it doesn't have to be a top rope elimination goes against what fans are used to from television, so it is good that Mackey points out the rules every time they have one.  The last person standing faces the person who eliminates the most competitors in a match to determine the winner. 

Sugar Shane, Chip Day, Sylar Cross, Brian Blaze, Joey Kidman, Dynomite Soul, Matt Von Reaper, Mason, Zombie Mascaras, Marko Polo, Eric Jones and De La Vega participated. Bodies flew everywhere, and Chip Day was the last man standing.  Sylar Cross eliminated the most participants, so now Chip and Sylar had to face each other to determine number one contender.  It was a typical heel team mockery of the concept of a match. They barely slapped at each other and kept asking each other to lay down.  Chip finally pinned Sylar. Did the fans really expect a match from these traitors? Chip yelled at the audience to shut up because they are not part of the show. He let Supernatural pick the stipulation for their championship match at Sacred Ground.  The audience said "Ladders" and it was ladders. Supernatural came out from the back holding a ladder. Ladders are where Supernatural really excels. 

PCW will be back in Porterdale in two weeks on September 21. No matches for that show were announced. All of the matches set were for Sacred Ground on Oct 5th. Since it's the show before the big one, PCW will likely have something memorable.

Universal Independent Wrestling--August 17th, 2013: If you can get the girls, the boys will follow, also known as the power of Ryan Howe.

The show started with the So Fine Mafia interrupting Mark Grason's introduction. They fired Epic Grant Mitchell because he was nowhere to be found. They also spent a lot of time tormenting "The Biggest Little Man in Wrestling" J.B. Lamentary, who led us in a preshow prayer. This behavior is nothing less than typical of the So Fine Mafia. When they left, Mark Grason said "We had to get our obligatory So Fine Mafia promo out of the way."

Match 1: Josh Storm vs. Frankie Valentine

Josh Storm and Frankie Valentine arguably have the most heated rivalry in UIW. Their matches always excite the fans because of their history. Throughout this match Peanut, the So Fine Mafia's ringside minion kept the referee distracted so Josh could do his worst to Frankie. Peanut also managed to beat Frankie up outside the ring as Josh distracted the referee. The match was going great, but Stupid came out and beat up Frankie, and the match ended in disqualification.

Match 2: Stupid vs. Ryan Howe
Stupid  said "If ya'll like Frankie Valentine better than ya'll like me, you've got problems." Ryan Howe, with his guitar in hand, interrupted Stupid. Stupid kept trying to talk, and Ryan played guitar over him much to the delight of the female fans.  Stupid and Ryan had a match, and Stupid won with the roll-up, but he was holding the rope. The referee didn't see. The entire audience was still chanting "Rock and Roll" as Ryan Howe exited.

Match 3: Pandora vs. Jessie Belle

This match was great throughout. Jessie Belle did a great job before the show getting crowd support by posing for pictures and mingling with fans. Pandora claimed at the beginning that Jessie hit her with a closed fist. The whole crowd was yelling "No she didn't". Jessie Belle taunted Pandora by getting on her back and riding her like a horse, playing into her whole Southern cowgirl image. There was a good back and forth roll-up sequence. Nina Monet distracted the referee while Jessie had Pandora in a Boston Crab. Pandora tapped but the referee didn't see it. During another distraction, Nina Monet introduced a foreign object into the match. Pandora hit Jessie with it and secured a victory after throwing the object out of the ring. She and Nina then beat up Jessie. Jessie came to and said "That's how you work. I'm pretty sure everyone here saw you tap out. You might have the belt, but a true champion can win the belt fair and square. Everybody knows my daddy, Tracy Smothers. I've got a couple of sisters, and me and my sisters are from the dirty south. Me and my sisters are coming for you."

Match 4: Billy Knight vs. Brad Lynch
This was supposed to be an "I Quit" Match. I have no idea exactly how this match ended. I don't know if anyone quit, or if there was a disqualification. I think the match ended because the Mercenary was supposed to be banned from ringside, but came out to attack Knight anyway.  I do know that it ended with a So Fine Mafia beatdown of Billy Knight which led to Stan Robinson running out in his defense with a baseball bat. There is a bunkhouse brawl match set up for Sept 7th which will settle this rivalry. Lynch and Mercenary are set to take on Knight and Robinson.

Match 5: Luke Gallows vs. Bobby Moore.

The crowd teases Bobby Moore mercilessly because he's big and he wears purple. They call him Barney, and some people sing the "I love you" song at him. The match took forever to actually get underway. DOC ran around the ring with the belt. He danced with a lady in the front row. He danced with the referee. Bobby Moore wouldn't get in the ring because he said he wouldn't wrestle till we stopped the Barney chants. 7 minutes in they finally started the match. Gallows wins the match with a giant chokeslam. He takes the Jr. Heavyweight belt and the crowd cheers. He has to give it back though because it was a non-title match. At the end Gallows said that he's a GA boy and he always shows up.

Match 6: Geter vs. Bull Buchanan

This match was a street fight for the UIW Heavyweight championship. As usual the action spilled all over the arena, and the audience does their best to follow. Probably the best spot of this whole match was where Geter tried to hit Bull with a bat and he hit ring post and the bat broke. Geter won the match and now he's UIW heavyweight champion. Billy Knight comes out after the match to ensure that Geter doesn't rough up Bull Buchanan any more than he already has.

UIW's next show is at Villa Rica Elementary School September 7th.

Platinum Championship Wrestling August 3rd,2013

The crowd outside was fired up for PCW. They started a Ric Flair inspired "Woo!" chant before the doors even opened.

Quasi Mandisco opened the show. He said "I've been saying for the longest time that Supernatural should not be the champ. De La Vega will not be here tonight, so the people of Porterdale will not have their main event." Shane Mackey stopped him. "There will be a new main event. Sylar Cross and Quasi Mandisco vs. Supernatural and Marko Polo." The crowd began a loud "Yes!" chant.

Match 1: God's Gift to Wrestling vs. The Washington Bullets

God's Gift to Wrestling took every chance they could to distract the referee. The most notable instance of this was when William Huckaby slapped Jon Williams in order to get him to enter the ring so they could further distract referee Chuck Porterfield. The Washington Bullets nearly had the pin, however, Shawn Adams pulled the referee out of the ring. While Chuck was out of the ring, they hit Jon in the head. God's Gift to Wrestling picked up the win using their cheating ways.

Match 2: Brian Blaze vs. Zombie Mascaras.

Brian Blaze was accompanied by his Big F'n Deal Tag team partner Geter. Geter attempted to interfere a few times. The most notable was when Geter went to chop Zombie with one of his massive chest chops. Zombie moved out of the way and Geter's hand hit the ring post. Brian Blaze ends up winning the match, but Zombie Mascaras put up a good fight.

Johnny Danger came out and told us "I expect to get hurt. What Sylar Cross did to me wasn't in the confines of a match. I know he's just Jeff G. Bailey's puppet. I suffered a serious concussion that could lead to permanent brain damage if I get hit in the head one more time. I called doctors that might not have been reputable to try to get cleared for wrestling. Stephen Platinum called me this morning and said no. He would not have me putting myself in danger. I want to say to everyone here and everyone who's ever been to a PCW show, thank you. Do not let my sacrifice be in vain. Sylar Cross, you broke my heart and you put me out of wrestling, but you didn't break my spirit. As long as my heart beats I will not leave PCW. I will be back as soon as the clock strikes Johnny Danger time."

Match 3: Dynomite Soul vs Fred Yehi (Match 5 of the best of 7 Series)

Fred Yehi came out swinging with a "take no prisoners" attitude. Dynomite Soul moved when Fred tried to chop him outside the ring. Fred hit the ring post. Fred was aggressive during this match. He was disqualified for choking Dynomite Soul. Dynomite took the mic and said " You did exactly as I wanted. I got in your head. This series is going to go to seven." Fred then gave the longest speech I've ever heard him make. "We're about to have church. I don't know if this was a revelation or you hitting me in the face. I've always thought of myself as a wrestling machine.  I don't leave scratches, I don't bruise, I don't quit, I don't lose. I'm a man. I'm disappointed that I didn't sweep you because I do have a heart, because I do have emotions. There's nothing that will stop me from beating you and beating you. This isn't about wrestling. This isn't about competition. This is about me breaking you." This is the first time I've seen any real emotion or character from Fred Yehi to accompany his amazing technical ability. I like what this best of seven series is drawing out of him. If he continues in this direction, he will be great.

Match 4: Mason vs. Geter

The match was supposed to feature Mason vs. Shane Marx, however, Shane Marx wasn't present. The Demi-God Mason managed to get the giant Geter to tap out. Blaze and Geter came out after the match to lay waste to Mason. They hit Mason with the ring bell. Then The Black Chair Brigade came out to continue the beatdown. Casey Kincaid came to Mason's aid holding a screwdriver. He said "The Prodigal Son has come home. I'm telling everyone that dinner's on. Come get some."  Geter was suspended for a month because he hit Mason with the ring bell.

Rachel came out after intermission and began talking. She said that she would find a partner for Brian Blaze and that Casey Kincaid's return was a problem for her personally. I couldn't hear her over the crowd, so I'm certain I didn't get everything. Joey Kidman came out and laid waste to the Black Chair Brigade who surrounded the ring while Rachel gave her speech. Joey Kidman had to work hard to hold his girl, Aria back from trying to get at Rachel.

Match 5: Warhorse Spirit Fingers vs. Dementia De Rose

Dementia De Rose squashed Warhorse Spirit Fingers very quickly. She yelled "Bring me some more people to hurt." I can't wait to see who her next opponent is.

The Main Event: Sylar Cross and Quasi Mandisco vs. Supernatural and Marko Polo

Jeff G Bailey accompanied Quasi and Sylar. His tie looked like the reptile he is. When Supernatural entered the ring, he first modeled Quasi's scarf and acts girly. He then got Quasi down on all fours and rode him like a horse, while he wore Marko's cowboy hat and used Quasi's scarf for reigns. The bad guys isolated Polo for a while through multiple beatdowns and referee distractions. Marko managed to finally tag in Supernatural about 7 minutes into the match. The match ended when Jeff G. Bailey sprayed something in Marko's eyes. He then made a speech. "If you're not Stephen Platinum's lapdog, Shane Mackey, then Sylar Cross gets a title shot. He looks more like a real champion than this guy." Mackey announced Supernatural and Marko the winners of the match, and Bailey said "They don't look like winners to me.They're on the floor, and we're standing tall."

PCW will be back in Porterdale on August 17th. The main event will be a title match between Sylar Cross and Supernatural.

Wrestling Fan Girl plans to attend a show in Decatur, GA on August 10th at Decatur First United Methodist Church. PWR's Rock and Roll Models will be there along with a lot of other great talent in GA. August 17th, I'll be in Villa Rica, GA to meet TNA Superstar Robbie E at UIW's Fallout.

Southern Fried Championship Wrestling--Monroe, GA. July 20, 2013

Not rain, nor sleet, nor insanity of child shall keep me from my appointed rounds. Yesterday was a terrible day, yet wrestling was the cure. Ian wanted to see D.O.C from Aces and Eights, and we went to Monroe, GA last night to do just that. He signed autographs and took pictures with fans at a table at the back of the performance area. My son went right up to him and shook his hand. D.O.C. asked him to give him a fist bump.  He was very friendly, and Ian asked him how the TNA show from Thursday was. D.O.C said "I watched it at home. I don't work there anymore." The interaction was nice, and since that was the main reason we attended the show, we left with exactly what we wanted.

Tommy "Wildfire" Rich was there signing photos as well. I remember going to a show in Conyers, GA in the mid 1980's, and he was on the card. It was one of the first wrestling shows I attended. I don't remember anything about the show other than he was there. We got his autograph last night and spoke to him for a few minutes.

The first match was a tag match. I had a hard time hearing the names. The acoustics in the venue weren't great. I know the second team involved in the match were "The Company", the team of Chris and Jerry Nelms. They entered second, which I found peculiar because I think they are the bad guys. In later matches, the bad guys entered first, which confused me further.

Kody Jack and Fry Daddy put on a good match. Kody Jack won, and Fry Daddy got mad afterward and beat him up.

The triple threat between The Patriot, Lobo, and another guy whose name I didn't catch was also good. The Patriot won that one.

Leatherface fought against D.O.C. in a street fight. The match was good until the end. They fought through the crowd, hitting each other with chairs. They fought into the back, and the audience didn't follow. The audience sat waiting for them to come back. They never did. I think it was a double countout, but honestly, I'm not certain. They never rang the bell. They went onto the next match leaving the audience extremely confused. It had an ending similar to the O. Henry short story, The Lady and the Tiger. You're left wondering what happened and you never get a clear answer.

I think this promotion has a lot of good talent. Vicious Vic Roze, Kody Jack, Billy Jack, all put on good matches. Vic Roze did a chain match against the Convict Blade that was good, though it got really bloody very quickly. Blade got the win because Chris Nelms came out while the ref was distracted and interfered on behalf of Blade. This led to The Company beating up Vic, and then the good guys came out to do the save.  This was the second to last match.  It felt like a main event, and a lot of the crowd sensed that the show was over. Some left. Vic Roze is probably the most popular wrestler in this promotion. He does get the audience engaged by yelling his very simple catch phrase "Who's Your Daddy?" Several fans wore his shirt, and others had signs cheering him.

The bright spot of the show was the main event. Steve Lawler vs. Tommy Rich in a Monroe Street fight. These two really put on a good match. Steve Lawler, who I believe is a member of The Company, came out dragging the referee with him. He heeled it up pretty good. Tommy Rich came out to cheers. The match spilled out into the audience. Tommy Rich hit Steve Lawler with a coke, and it sprayed all over the audience. They fought right next to us, we had to move from our seats because the action was so close. It was exciting. Steve Lawler used brass knuckles on Tommy Rich, then Tommy Rich got hold of the knuckles and used them on Steve. Tommy Rich won the match. I know the two of them are veteran wrestlers, and I could tell by the way they drew the audience in. This match was the one match on the card that really made me care.

This show was the first time that as a first time audience member I had real trouble figuring out what was going on. I am still confused as how the two monsters, Maul and Leatherface are heroes. I guess I have a hard time wanting to cheer a guy with a chainsaw and blood on his apron. A lot of the run-ins didn't make sense. Nothing drew me in and said "You need to come back."

The next time I report to you I'll be back in Porterdale at their next show August 3rd.

Platinum Championship Wrestling July 6th 2013

We sat in a packed enclosure on the streets of Porterdale. Tons of people are lined up outside to watch the action, and we're lucky enough to be inside the barricades ringside.

The Empire's Miss Rachel comes out to a new entrance theme, Fire Woman. She's accompanied by The Black Chair Brigade, which is the name of Jeff G. Bailey's force of evil ninjas. She says "Bobby Moore is top tier talent. We've got Chip and Sylar. Marko Polo is not someone who believes in the true potential of PCW. Try all you want to stop us, it's not going to happen."

Match 1: Marko Polo vs. A member of the Black Chair Brigade.

The ninja from the Black Chair Brigade opens strong, but his offense is stopped by a big elbow by Marko that's followed by a clothesline. Marko wins the contest with a big supplex.

Tim Savage, owner of The Main Event, makes a speech. "We're bringing wrestling back to Porterdale. You guys are making this happen. PCW is making this happen. The city is making this happen, and The Main Event is making this happen.

Match 2: Brian Blaze vs. Simon Sermon.

Simon Sermon came out and gave Jimmie Oxendine his cape. He put it over his head, danced around him, and gave him a kiss on top of his head. The action spilled out of the ring early. Simon went in long enough to break up a count, and it spilled out again. Simon did a big move from the top rope, but it only resulted in a two count. Brian Blaze managed to hit Simon Sermon with a low blow while the referee was distracted. Blaze got the win. I am very happy to see Simon Sermon back in PCW. He always brings the party to our city.

Match 3: Bobby Moore, Chip Day and Sylar Cross vs. Mason, Matt Von Reaper, and Johnny Danger

Chip and Sylar turned on us two days ago. I can no longer refer to them by their proper name, Of Mice and Men. They will henceforth be known as "Of Rats and Boys." I believe the proper team name for that of Johnny Danger and Matt Von Reaper is Fear the Danger. Other possible names I've used in this column have been summarily rejected. Danger gets a PCW chant started right away. He's in the ring first against Chip. Mason's in next, followed by Matt Von Reaper. Matt Von Reaper gets isolated in the enemy's corner for a long time, but he manages to make it through and they get Bobby Moore in theirs for a while. Reaper gets trapped again, and the good guys try to make it in to save him. Danger manages to break up a count. Von Reaper goes up on top but he gets caught with a kick. Bobby Moore gets the pin. Moore is great at getting heat. His facial expressions really sell his character. Mason takes the mic after the match and says "With more and more people we came up with turning on us, we need to get better." Chip said to a group of kids on his way out of the ringside area, "I hope you see me wrestle in your nightmares for the rest of your life." 

Match 4: Dementia de Rose vs. Go time Erik Jones

Erik Jones seemed hesitant to fight a woman at first, but then the crazy chick bit him. She went crazy, and she dominated a good portion of the match. She missed a move and landed outside the ring, but quickly the action went back inside. She started biting his head. She was finally disqualified because she stabbed him in the head with the black rose that she carries.

Match 5: Rick Michaels vs. Joey Kidman

Joey Kidman has this cute girl with him at ringside. She's got pigtails and a cute little pink skirt. She's the perfect accessory to his rock star gimmick. Rick Michaels is continuously trying to tell this girl that he's a better man than Joey Kidman. It's to the point where I just want to yell "Rick pay attention to the match, and stop flirting with this poor girl." He finally takes Kidman's girl by the hair and forceably kisses her. She slaps him silly, and the distraction is enough for Kidman to get the win.

Our Main Event was a cage match for the PCW Title. Quasi Mandisco comes out and says "Let me tell you about our next PCW Champ. He's better than all you slack-jawed, inbred, no job people." Vega enters to a roar of disdain. Stephen Platinum enters in Supernatural's corner. The match starts, and Chip Day comes out and unloads on Supernatural just as it starts to pour rain. I was certain the match would be called because of Chip Day's interference. But it continued. Onlookers scattered to leave, but the die hards stayed till the bitter end. Vega was going to escape the cage but Platinum taunts him. " I thought you were a grown ass man." He gets back in to beat up Super after slapping Platinum. He double stomps Supernatural, and then spears him, but still Super kicks out. Super does a big splash from the top of the cage, but still it's not enough to get Vega. They fight it out until Supernatural finally escapes from the cage. Rachel comes out to say that Bobby Moore deserves a title shot, and that he'll have one July 20th at the next PCW Event here in Porterdale. Chip Day has been indefinitely suspended due to his interference in the match. Can Supernatural retain the title against Bobby Moore? We'll find out next time

Platinum Championship Wrestling July 4, 2013 Wargames

Match 1: "Dynomite Soul" Eric Walker vs. "Bonafide" Fred Yehi in the third match of their Best of Seven Series.

When Fred Yehi entered the arena, he carried a broom, and he led the crowd in chanting "sweep sweep sweep" as he swept the floors surrounding the ring. He won the two previous matches in the series, and he won this one as well. Will it be a sweep? Yehi takes the mike and he says, "July 20th, there will be a party in Porterdale, GA. Everyone bring their brooms so we can sweep."

Match 2: God's Gift to Wrestling vs. The Movement vs. Matt Von Reaper and Johnny Danger (Reap the Danger, Fear the Danger, Dangerous Angels?)

This is a three team elimination tag match. The Movement cleverly stayed out of the ring in order to let the other two teams eliminate each other.  Matt Von Reaper and Johnny Danger were eliminated leaving The Movement to face God's Gift to Wrestling. The Movement came in full force against their competition. God's Gift to Wrestling's teamwork is wonderful, but it doesn't stand up to Quasi Mandisco's interference. While the referee's back is turned, Quasi chokes Shawn Adams with his scarf. When his man gains momentum, he looks directly at me and says "Now that's how you do it baby." The Movement picked up the win because Quasi grabbed William Huckaby to keep him  from breaking up the count.

Match 3: Rick Michaels vs. Warhorse Stuffed Crust.

The warhorses never cease to amuse me. Just when I think they can't create a crazier gimmick for that group of masked wrestlers, they do. Warhorse Stuffed Crust is a pizza delivery guy. He came out and asked each front row audience member if they'd ordered pizza.  Rick Michaels slammed him into the pizza for the victory. The crowd chanted "Where's our pizza?" as poor Warhorse Stuffed Crust left in defeat.

Match 4: Showtime Erik Jones vs. Marko Polo

Marko Polo's really had a good run in PCW since leaving the Priority Males. He is quickly becoming a fan favorite.  Showtime Erik Jones has a great missile dropkick.  Marko wins the match, and after he takes the mic and says "Attention! For two years I've watched you. You are no longer the joke, Mr. Erik. You are now Showtime Erik Jones."

We took a brief intermission so the cage could be set up, and then our one ring caged version of Wargames began.  Team De La Vega took on Team Supernatural. The only way to win the match was submission or surrender. The fireworks outside might have been postponed until July 6th, but I assure you readers, that the fireworks took place inside The Main Event on July 4th as scheduled.

Brian Blaze and Sylar Cross began the match. Bobby Moore entered next. De La Vega entered next. All of the bad guys jumped on Sylar. Jeff G. Bailey came out to ringside with a group of bodyguards. I think they look like ninjas personally, or rather like the Afghan Assassins employed by Prince Akbar at N.W.A Atlanta.
Stephen Platinum came out wearing a red white and blue hat and Uncle Sam beard. He was accompanied by Johnny Danger and Matt Von Reaper who carried sparklers. Platinum didn't make it to the ring right away as Bailey's ninjas jumped him.  Shane Marx is revealed to be one of the ninja bodyguards as he and Mason fight outside the ring.  Stephen Platinum finally made it in the ring and he made quick work of De La Vega. Cyrus the Destroyer entered the games next, and he was followed by Supernatural who popped out from under the ring. Chip Day comes out. The crowd cheers, we think the fight will finally be even, but he doesn't even make it in when he says evilly "I give up." What? Seriously? Chip, you too? Why are all our heroes leaving us? Is there something in the water that the PCW locker room is drinking that's causing them to join up with the remnants of the Empire? What sway does Jeff G. Bailey hold? The Ninjas come back into the ring to finish off Supernatural and Stephen Platinum.

Jeff G. Bailey takes a mic and yells in Platinum's face "Cock A Doodle Doo. The Chicken's come home to roost, and I've got Do or Die Chip Day. You've treated him like a second class citizen, but Chip Day's going to be the next PCW champ. Don't ever come back to my town. Porterdale belongs to Jeff G. Bailey. Sylar Cross do you want to stand with all these nothings, with the fans, or do you want to be on top? Join us or die trying to stop us." Much to the crowd's dismay, Sylar's joined the Empire too. Marko joins at this time to help ward off the ninjas who've come to pick at the remains of Platinum and Supernatural.

Stephen Platinum says "People I owe you an apology. When PCW was close to going out of business, when PCW was kicked out of Atlanta by the Empire we came here to Porterdale. There's a lot of debate, and we've not always gotten along. July 4th is about independence, July 4th is about renewal, rebirth. No matter how the odds are stacked against you you'll find a way. Porterdale is PCW's home. We kicked out the Empire at Sacred Ground. Porterdale, the town has been brought back, but the fire is at our doorstep from Atlanta. I will not have it. I can't do it alone. Our champion, Supernatural, can't do it alone. We need you. Will you be there for us? There's a cage match against De La Vega for the title. We will fight, and we will kick your ass."

There will be a special cage match July 6th as part of the city of Porterdale's postponed 4th of July festivities. Fireworks will follow the show. Be there to witness history.
