Interview with the Danger City Demons 1/11/2016

PCW fans, for this installment, I’ve interviewed Johnny Danger and Devlin Valek, 2015 PCW Tag Team Champions, The Danger City Demons for their thoughts on the 2016 Tag Team season, the betrayal by PCW promoter Stephen Platinum, their unlikely alliance with Quasi Mandisco, and the future of PCW.

If a fan was completely unfamiliar with PCW, how would you describe the talent, the atmosphere, and the wrestling to them?

Johnny Danger: PCW is perhaps the most varied collection of wrestlers you’ll find, there is something for everyone. If you want action packed, fast moving, hard hitting wrestling, we’ve got Shane Marx, Brian Blaze, the Washington Bullets. If you want to see the most dominant monster in wrestling, one of the best big men I have ever seen, look no further than our PCW champion, Geter. And if you want to see a couple guys who will fight for the people, for our fans, till our very last breath, that’s me and my brother, Devlin Valek. The atmosphere is unique, it’s a family show, but one where anything can happen. Things definitely get a little more intense than they do on Monday nights, if you know what I mean.

Devlin Valek: It’s an intimate environment with loyal fans that aren’t afraid to vocalize how they feel about the action. It’s not without reason that PCW has such a loyal fan base. At a PCW show you’ll see everything from technical wrestling and high-flying to hardcore brawls. There’s a roster of regulars that the fans love to see at every show, but there is always new talent popping in to show what they’ve got to the crowd. You never know who is going to step into the ring at a PCW show.

Johnny Danger, you were trained and brought into PCW by Stephen Platinum. How did his betrayal affect you personally?

JD: Honestly, it hurt. It hurt bad. People who know me real good, and there aren’t many of those, know that I’ve got trust issues going way back. Almost anyone who ever claimed to love me, to support me, you name it…turned their back on me, or stabbed me in mine. I wouldn’t have even BEEN a wrestler if not for Stephen Platinum. Looking back though, I should’ve seen the signs. Steve was always there to celebrate my successes, but never support me during my failures. He came out to applaud when we won tag team season, but was nowhere to be found when a restraining order was filed against me by Quasi during our intense rivalry a couple years ago, that cost me almost a year of my career at PCW, when I was in the best shape of my life, and that sucked. I also think Steve wanted me to only go so far in this business, hell, I’ll say it, he wanted to sweep me under the rug. I was his last student, but I was also his dirty little secret. That’s why I went through the hellacious beatings I took at the Academy Theater, fighting 3 guys twice my size at the same time, being thrown into the crowd by the Jagged Edge…he wanted me to quit, but I wouldn’t. Now look at a guy like Matt Hankins, someone who sees the best in everyone, someone who, if you hold up your end of the bargain, will give you that chance to shine, will truly believe in you….it wasn’t hard to choose a side when it came time. Being associated with Platinum so closely has cost me a lot in this business. A lot of people don’t like the guy. I passed up a lot of opportunities because I was a self-proclaimed “Stephen Platinum Guy”. Let it be known those days are OVER….I’m a Matt Hankins guy, no matter what that’ll cost me.

Do you care to address the appalling remarks he made to your wife at the last show?

JD: I guess it’s a good thing I was completely unconscious at the time, thanks to Jeff G. Bailey and enough Ether to take down King Kong , or else I’d be in jail right now. I was told exactly what he said, though, and obviously I’m angry, but more than that, again, I’m hurt. I had just signed with PCW when I got married and didn’t really know anybody yet, so, Steve was the only “wrestling” person that attended my wedding. He became friends with my wife, we trusted him. That was our mistake. Steve’s mistake was making things personal, by implying he could somehow be the father of my unborn child.. I’ve got a lot of things I could say about Steve, if he wants to go that route. I could bring up his “women’s self-defense” classes, that were just excuses for him to grab on a bunch of females. I could bring up the real reason Ms. Rachael suddenly picks up and moves to Orlando right before the formation of the Cornerstone, cause it damn sure had nothing with her being tough enough for anything, if you catch my meaning. I could say a lot of things…I’m just too damn classy. Oh wait…oops. Like I said last week, Steve, I’m not your “kid” anymore, I’m not that scared little punk who would let you abuse him at the Academy Theater and thank you for the privilege. You’re in the house WE built now, me, Quasi, Matt Hankins, Brian Blaze, Devlin Valek, Geter…and you’ve made it personal. Bad move.

Devlin Valek, many Porterdale fans are less familiar with your career and your origins. How did you get into wrestling and how did you find your way to PCW?

DV: My road to PCW was a lot different than Johnny’s. Years before Johnny had met Stephen Platinum I had pursued wrestling on my own. I was trained by a man from the Orient by the name of Tetchi Makuji. He roughed me up pretty well with his Japanese style of striking and took me on the road with his tag team partner at the time, Mastodon. Collectively they were known as Massive Tsunami, and I learned quite a bit from traveling from town to town with them. I spent a few years wrestling in promotions in South Carolina and South Georgia before going on hiatus to pursue other interest. Once I got word that Johnny had begun wrestling in PCW I made my way to the Atlanta area. We had always had a turbulent relationship, and at the time we weren’t seeing eye to eye. I eventually left PCW for a year after Sacred Ground Chapter 3, but returned when I found out how badly things had been going for my brother. Johnny called me in to help take care of Quasi and his goons, and we were able to form the brotherly bond we never had before. Now we’re sitting on top of the world as the 2015 Tag Team Season Champions.

At 2015’s Sacred Ground Chapter Six, The Danger City Demons proved many of your naysayers wrong by becoming Tag Team Season Champions. Now that you are poised to defend your title, are there any teams you are looking to test yourselves against?

DV: I’d really like to get my hands on any team from the Cornerstone if they deem themselves worthy to compete in this year’s Tag Team Season. I personally don’t think they deserve to be involved so I’m hoping that we can prove ourselves even further this year by competing against the PCW Champion Geter and Brian Blaze. That would be a true test for the DCD if we could get a victory over Big F’n Deal.

JD: That’s the cool thing about tag team season, we busted our asses to win it last year, and that trophy is ours till Sacred Ground Chapter 7, no matter what, no one can take that achievement away from us. But we certainly won’t be taking it easy till then, we’ve gotta fight just as hard to make it to the finals once again. You wanna talk about tests…I’d say the ultimate test is a couple of friends of ours, Brian Blaze and Geter, Big F’n Deal. We never hooked up in the 2015 season, and I’d love a match with those guys. Not many people would voluntarily seek out a fight with those two, but….we do things a little different in Danger City!

PCW fans are well-versed with your storied past with Quasi Mandisco, the Priority Males, your bitter rivalry, and your grudge matches. How is it to be reunited with a common goal?

DV: I showed up towards the end of Johnny’s rivalry with Quasi, so he probably has a much different perspective than I do. My initial instinct was not to trust him. This is a man who put my brother through hell and almost ended his career by causing Johnny a serious knee injury. I’d honestly rather knock his teeth out than shake his hand, but I trust my brother’s judgement. Johnny has done battle with Quasi for years, so that means he knows him better than anyone. If Johnny is siding with him, I’m siding with him.

JD: Honestly, I surprised myself when I came down to the ring to back him up, and we embraced. I took a step back the next day, shut myself off from communication and went into a dark place to be alone and think, and ask myself if I could truly trust Quasi. What I came to was this…yes, for nearly 4 years, we damn near tried to kill one another, but the one thing I can say about Quasi is, he has a certain integrity. He never offered me friendship with one hand, with a snake in the other. When we were at war….it was WAR.  And I realized myself and Valek, we don’t exactly confirm to societal norms, we have our own code of justice…and so does Quasi. At the end of the day, we have given blood, sweat, and tears to build up PCW in Porterdale, and we’ll be damned if Platinum, Rachael, Bailey, Carpenter, or anybody else tears that down, so with that in mind, to answer your question…it feels….right.

Do you see yourselves on the same page with Mr. Mandisco long term? Or is this more of a “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” sort of thing?

JD: It’s hard to say. It’s not something we’ve talked about. it’s hard to even think “long term” right now when the short term is so chaotic. PCW has faced threats from the outside before, I was recruited to the PCW side as a rookie to help fight the EMPIRE….but never have we seen such a threat from within…the Cornerstone is like the Hydra from ancient myths…a multi-headed, snake-like monster…cut off a head, two more grow in its place. Even the mighty Hercules couldn’t kill it on his own…he needed help to cauterize the wounds after he cut off each head, so they couldn’t grow back….so we’ve got to stick together, it’s the only way to slay this monster. After that? Time will tell.

DV: I’m definitely not going to stop looking over my shoulder. After everything he’s done it’s hard to trust him completely. Right now we are getting along and are on the same page. He’ll have to earn more of my trust over time. Bottom line is as long as he does right by the Danger City Demons we’ll do right by him.

What are your thoughts on the PCW Championship title scene now that Shane Marx has returned?

DV: It definitely will make things more interesting. Shane is a multi time PCW Champion so you know he’s got what it takes to get that belt back. We haven’t seen him in a while so only time will tell if he’s going to stick around to go after that belt or where his allegiances lie in this Cornerstone fiasco. If he does stick around I know he’ll be a power player as always. I’m hoping I can lock up with him eventually and I’m sure my brother feels the same. You never know, he may find a partner and throw his name into this year’s Tag Team Season.

JD: I don’t know exactly where Shane Marx’s head is at. He’d been gone since Sacred Ground and hadn’t really spoken to many of us, that I know of. I hope now that he’s back he’ll be the same Shane Marx I know, because we could sure use his help against Cornerstone, if he’s willing to stand against people like Steve and Rachael, who we all know he was especially close to. I don’t even know if the championship is on his radar right now. Like Brian Blaze said, keeping the PCW title out of Cornerstone’s clutches is the most important thing right now, and I think Geter is the best man for that job. Assuming we defeat them…all bets are off. I know me and my brother would both love to hold that title one day. I’ve battled Geter in tag team matches before elsewhere, but never one on one anywhere in the world. If I could earn the shot, I’d love to challenge him. Sure, there’s a…80% chance I’d end up a Johnny Danger-shaped smear on the mat, but…stranger things have happened…

I recently saw on your social media that you created yourself as playable characters in the WWE 2K16 video game. Do you have any plans to create an entire PCW Roster? Is this something fans might have access to?

JD: Time permitting, yeah, I’d love to create the main roster. It’s a lengthy process, I’d say I spent close to 5 hours making myself, and I still am making minor edits to it. I’ll let people know on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/dangerkick) as new characters are available, right now myself and Devlin are both up to download on PlayStation 4 exclusively by searching our names or “PCW”. Next week you’ll be facing two members of The Cornerstone. Do you have any comments for The Cornerstone about that match?

JD: Right now, nothing would make me happier than Platinum himself getting in the ring with me. Not that I think he’s got the guts to face us head on, of course, but a Demon can dream, right? Not many people are crazy enough to say this, but I’m dying for another crack at the Carpenter, too. He has yet to be decisively beaten in PCW, but I’ve come closer than anyone else. A few weeks ago, I had him trapped in Shadows of Darkness, my version of the sleeper, and he was OUT. I felt the last bit of life leave his body, then, POW, Bill The Butcher brains me with that damn bat and I’m out cold. So I’d like to finish the job with Carpenter, for sure. Same goes for Trever Aeon, who almost took me out before Sacred Ground, I had HIM beat a couple weeks ago and he pinned me with a handful of my pants then ran like a little….well, you saw it.

DV: We definitely have some unfinished business with Carpenter and Trever Aeon. Trever tried to take Johnny’s knee out….again and our run-ins with Carpenter seem to always end with blood or fire. I just want to squeeze their heads until slimey ooze drips out of their eyeballs. Any opponent from the Cornerstone will satisfy though. We’ve had our showdowns with Bill the Butcher and Dementia as well. A couple of Neanderthals that want to scream and sling chains around. They want to get nuts? The Danger City Demons are nuts, and we’ll get hardcore and kick them in the face if that’s what it takes. Another interesting option would be Platinum and Bailey vs. DCD. Hmmmm now that could be very appealing after what those two did to us on the last show. Ether on a pole match? Doesn’t matter, we’d knock the crap out of them in any match and they know it. We’re ready for the Cornerstone.

What will 2016 hold for PCW and more specifically for The Danger City Demons?

DV: Early in 2015 I knew we were doing something special. No matter how high the odds were stacked against us we overcame them, and the PCW fans latched on to our fighting spirit. It’s because they knew that we weren’t just fighting for us, we were fighting for them. In 2016 they’re going to need us to keep fighting more than ever. The fate of this great company hangs in the balance, and the Danger City Demons vow to defend it to the bitter end. Once we rid PCW of the scum that has infected it, we may just have to rename Porterdale to Danger City.

JD: We’ve proven we are a force to be reckoned with. We’ve proven we are in it for the long haul, and that we deserve our spot in PCW. We’re not just a fly by night tag team, we’re brothers, we are in this together. I’ve permanently inked Danger City on my chest as a reminder of that. We take our spot very seriously, the town of Porterdale cried out for a hero, and out of the smoke we came. We don’t wear capes, but we look better in black, in war paint, covered with twisted metal…and when we help topple the Cornerstone, when we tear down their foundation and watch them crumble, we’re gonna rebuild Danger City on top of the ashes, and it’s gonna be the party of the millennium. Strap in and enjoy the ride.

Platinum Championship Wrestling--January 2, 2016--Porterdale, GA

Platinum Championship Wrestling started out the year in Porterdale with a packed house and a crowd pleasing show.

Opening Match: The Suntan Demons vs. Brian Kane and Haikken

Winners: Brian Kane and Haikken

Ray Fury and Drew Game, known as the Suntan Demons, faced Brian Kane and Haikken. Game and Fury entered to New Kids on The Block's "The Right Stuff" which garnered a lot of laughs from the audience.  Kane and Haikken's manager, Quasi Mandisco mocked their spray tans. He followed that with "You came to Porterdale, you're stepping into our territory. We will defend it." Mandisco's done a great job of selling the idea that he "is Porterdale" to the audience, though I questioned his new face persona as he stuck to his scarf-choking ways during the match.

The Suntan Demons isolated Haikken for a long time, and they distracted the referee on several occasions to take advantage of illegal double teaming and out of ring beatdowns.  Despite his best efforts, things looked bleak for Haikken. The referee kept Brian Kane out of the ring, powerless to aid his distressed partner. Haikken stuck in there showing great resilience, and Brian Kane got the hot tag. Kane and Haikken dropkicked the Suntan Demons into each other, and each pinned his respective opponent to pick up the win.  After their loss, the Suntan Demons beat up Haikken and Kane, and claimed it was a present from Jeff G. Bailey.

Match 2: Eli Daniels vs. Chris "The Hype" Henry

Winner: Chris "The Hype" Henry

Daniels and Henry are both athletic wrestlers, and this was an entertaining match.  Henry prevailed despite the best efforts of Daniels' ringside manager to thwart him.

Match 3: JAM and Damien Silva vs. Warhorses TBA and TBD

Winners: JAM and Damien Silva due to disqualification.

The match began comedically as all warhorse matches do.  Both teams used video game hand movements and what resembled "Kamehameha" from Dragonball Z.  Silva suplexed a warhorse twice, but he kicked out of the pin. Warhorses don't typically kick out of pins, they get squashed. A couple more unsuccessful pin attempts were made by JAM and Silva, then Warhorse TBA hit JAM with a low blow. The warhorses unmasked, revealing Stephen Platinum and Trevor Aeon from The Cornerstone.

Johnny Danger came out to face them, but he was put down by a rag full of ether.  They painted a yellow streak down JAM's back. Trevor Aeon choked Damien Silva outside the ring while Stephen Platinum addressed the crowd. He called Johnny Danger an ungrateful brat, and he said "When that baby of yours comes out, you'd better rewind the tapes to see if I was in town or not." Jeff G. Bailey extolled the greatness of The Cornerstone. "We are your masters. You may see us again before the night is over."

Match 4: Trevor Aeon vs. "Go Time" Eric Jones

The spirits of the crowd were still down after the events they'd just witnessed. Aeon won with a rope assisted DDT. It was a good match, but it would have been difficult to hype up any crowd after the carnage of the previous bit.  Aeon tried to choke out Jones after his victory, and Geter came out to make the save. Aeon scattered like the rat he is.  Geter reminded Aeon there is still an open contract on the PCW championship, so anytime he feels he's man enough to step in the ring, Geter will defend.  PCW chants were heard throughout the arena as Geter made his rallying speech.

Match 5: Jon Williams vs. Shane Marx
Winner: Shane Marx due to countout

Williams insults Porterdale upon entering.  "Porterdale is awful. Porterdale, GA, the worst city in the entire country. You should bow down and worship me because I'm a TV star. You don't have anyone good enough to face me." Cue returning hero Shane Marx who received an electric response from the crowd.

At the five minute mark, Williams had the upper hand. Marx regained control and decimated Williams with several offensive power moves.  The two wrestled their asses off, and exchanged punches. Williams took every shortcut he could, trying to pin Marx by putting his feet on the ropes. An elbow by Williams was countered with a spear by Marx. Williams followed with a double stomp, and Marx hit him with a spine buster. Williams left the ring and took the microphone. "He wasn't supposed to be my opponent. This match doesn't count.", Williams declared and left the ring. He was counted out and Marx won the match.

Main Event: Bill the Butcher vs. Brian Blaze in a Hangman match.

A hangman match is won when one man throws his opponent over the top rope while they're hanging from a noose.  The Danger City Demons were in the corner of Brian Blaze. They acknowledged that Stephen Platinum was the cornerstone of PCW because he built the place, but the place had long outgrown its creator.  Johnny Danger addressed Stephen Platinum. "You don't know who I am. I'm not the scared little kid you used to beat up during training. You're in my house now. Let's talk about Brian Blaze. Let's talk about justice."

The match was all over the arena the moment it began.  Blaze whipped Butcher with a rope. Butcher choked Blaze as Stephen Platinum ordered the monster "Do what you have to do." Butcher tried to hang Blaze early. Blaze kicked Butcher out of the corner and followed that with a large clothesline. Blaze went for the noose, and Butcher kicked him in the face.  Platinum encouraged Butcher, "You're faster, smarter, better." The crowd chanted, "Shut up Stephen." The fight continued on the ring apron where Butcher speared Blaze. Wrestlers from both sides spilled out of the locker room to join the chaos. Stephen Platinum still had the ether he'd used earlier on Johnny Danger. He was setting up to use it again on Brian Blaze, but was foiled by Shane Mackey, who used it on him. Blaze hung Butcher, and the wrestlers of PCW prevailed. Stephen Platinum repeatedly ethered himself as he still had remnants on the sleeve of his jacket.

Johnny Danger and Devlin Valek will face two representatives of The Cornerstone when PCW returns to Porterdale on January 16th.

PCW--November 21, 2015--Porterdale GA--New allies emerge

Heroes rallied and new allies emerged in this installment of Platinum Championship Wrestling.

The venue opened about an hour late, and ring announcer Needless Things' Phantom Troublemaker blamed the delay on the chaos left by The Cornerstone at the last show. The show had no music. It was just Phantom with the bell and one microphone. This worked since the commentary team of Mackey and Hankins was laid out by The Cornerstone at the previous show.

The main event started the show as Geter defended his title against the Saiyan Prince, Shane Daniels.  It was a brutal big man contest.  Geter retained the title because Daniels tapped out.  Geter reissued his open challenge. "Any time you're ready. Step back in my yard. Any man in wrestling around Georgia, in the U.S., around the world. I'm the measuring stick. This is PCW. I am Geter."

Brian Blaze faced Chris "The Hype" Henry. They shook hands before the match in a show of sportsmanship. Henry is an athletic, high flyer, and I find him a good addition to the PCW roster.  Blaze won the match with a lariat that flipped Henry all the way over.  Blaze asked the audience to give Henry a hand because PCW is about giving people like "The Hype" opportunities.

Blaze took the mic. "What Steve did shouldn't have come as a shock to anyone.  We've done his dirty deeds and listened to his empty promises. He didn't have any reason for what he did. He was just mad about Matt Hankins adding "Defying Expectations" under the logo.  That's what PCW's been about since we started. When we started out, people thought we'd fail. Because of Platinum we defied expectations, but now he's got to be the center of attention."

Blaze further explained that factions have risen and they tried to bring PCW to hell, but each time they already possessed the belt.  He urged Geter to stayed out of the fight because as long as he has the belt he has the power, and PCW and Porterdale have the power.  "Platinum, you started a war, and you're gonna get a war.  You've got one of the baddest guys in Brian Blaze, and you're gonna get hell." Phantom Troublemaker confirmed "PCW begins and ends with those men there."

Johnny Danger came to the ring next.  He thanked the audience for always supporting him and he informed us that he will now embrace his demonic side.  All his admiration for Rachel and for Stephen Platinum is dead. He said that Platinum took the Platinum out of PCW when he moved to Florida and spent the money he made off the backs of his wrestlers. Platinum is not wrestling's savior, he's more like its mad scientist. Danger referred to himself as Frankenstein's monster. He threatened to chase the cornerstone to the ends of the earth.

Dementia De Rose fought Haikken. She defeated him with much interference from her ringside companion, Bill T. Butcher.  Bill brutalized Haikken after the match. Quasi Mandisco came out and threatened De Rose and Butcher. He said "I'm not asking for forgiveness, but I'll fight everybody from The Cornerstone myself. If I defend Porterdale you'll all get behind me." Haikken, Mandisco, and Kane are now a faction against The Cornerstone.  Quasi continued addressing The Carpenter. "I respected you, but that was past tense. You decided to take out Matt Hankins who never did anything but try to entertain all these people." Carpenter responded, "I don't need Stephen Platinum or Rachel here. I just need two fists and your face."

Carpenter and Quasi begin to fight, and the entire arena is cheering for Quasi.  Danger and Blaze came out to even the numbers against Carpenter, De Rose, and Butcher.  Geter came out carrying a large stick.  "Quasi, Danger, Haikken, Blaze, and Geter are coming for your ass."  Danger addressed Quasi. "I don't like you. You don't like me. You're a dirty underhanded snake, but you're Porterdale's dirty underhanded snake. What you've done is not forgotten, but you are forgiven. See you all in two weeks, Cornerstone. Quasi bring your best men, and you know we'll give you what for."

Platinum Championship Wrestling returns to Porterdale on December 5th.

Rise of the Villains?---Platinum Championship Wrestling---November 7, 2015---Porterdale, GA

Chaos reigned supreme last night in Porterdale, GA in a shocking turn of events that unfolded at the end of the main event women's tag team match. Young children left the arena crying, old ladies screamed, and everyone wondered what would happen next in perhaps the most heinous betrayal in Porterdale's wrestling history.

During the first half of the show, the crowd's hearts soared. Our heroes dominated match after match. Johnny Danger triumphed over  JAM.  Brian Blaze and returning crowd favorite and PCW original, Mason, beat The Washington Bullets. Devlin Valek defeated Trevor Aeon.

Marko Polo and Bill T. Butcher tore each other apart in an unsanctioned Lights Out match that ended when Butcher slammed Polo through a table rendering him incapacitated. Though Polo was defeated, the crowd's spirits were still high. Haikken defeated Chris "the Hype" Henry with much interference by ringside manager, Quasi Mandisco. Henry stood out because of his athleticism, and the crowd supported him, knowing he'd have won if not for Mandisco's trickery.

Luscious Latasha and Miss Rachael faced Su Yung and Dementia De Rose. Rachel left the match early due to an apparent knee injury. Latasha was left alone and defenseless.  De Rose and Yung made quick work of her.  The Carpenter entered the ring, and Yung drug Latasha upstairs presumably to finish her off.

Carpenter oozed his usual evil as he talked about burning down Porterdale and recreating it in his own image.  He cursed the idea that people like announcer Matt Hankins and Johnny Danger could be the faces of PCW. three masked figures joined him in the ring, and laid plastic in the ring.  They launched a brutal attack on Matt Hankins, repeatedly hitting him with a baseball bat, laying him out, and leaving him bloodied.

One by one the Carpenter's disciples removed their masks. Jeff G. Bailey's presence surprised no one. He's always been an evil bastard. What happened next broke our collective heart, as the remaining two were revealed to be Miss Rachael and Stephen Platinum. Platinum embraced Bailey.  He went on a tirade about how Porterdale never really loved him, and how the only places who truly loved him were Avondale and Atlanta.  Rachael crowed about being Platinum's last true student and how she was his legacy.

Johnny Danger came to the ring, sickened by the attack on Hankins, looking for answers from his friend, Rachael, and his mentor Platinum. They ganged up on him, and Rachael cut a large chunk of his hair as a trophy.  Quasi Mandisco came out to admire their handiwork, and he asked to join their alliance. They attacked him too. Bailey took the brass knuckles from his hand and knocked him out. Platinum got a bucket full of tar, a bag of feathers, and the evil alliance tarred and feathered Mandisco in the center of the ring.  The remaining villains, Bill T. Butcher, Dementia De Rose, Haikken, and The Washington Bullets came out to join their ringleaders.

Children cried as the Washington Bullets mocked them. Old ladies hurled insults at our former savior turned traitor, Stephen Platinum.  I will not be at the next show on November 21st to see the aftermath, but I leave you all with these thoughts. Where are our heroes? Who will rise to take Porterdale out of this despair? Is their a light to counter this darkness? These are surely dangerous times.

NWA Atlanta 3/28/15----Stockbridge, GA

The show began with a loving tribute and a 10 bell salute honoring the memory of Wildchild Joey Kidman who passed away on March 23.

Match 1: Zach Daniels and Chad Silva vs. The Young Lions (Lex Lee and Kevin Coffman) for the NWA GA Tag Team Championship

Winners: The Young Lions

Match rating: 4 out of 5

There was a fan who thought it was clever to bring a megaphone to yell insults at the heels.  It was unpleasant and distracting. The wrestlers worked their asses off to get the show off the ground, and their hard work went largely unappreciated by a crowd who were distracted by the noise.  The Lions won it, and they received a post-match beatdown from Daniels and Silva.

Match 2: Nigel Sherrod vs. Shane Marx

Winner: Shane Marx

Match Rating: 5 out of 5

Sherrod began the match by acting like a coward. Every time Marx would move towards him, he'd exit the ring.  Marx dominated once the match truly began. Marx elbowed Sherrod in the corner, and Sherrod fell like a tree. Marx followed up with a scoop slam. . Sherrod countered Marx's advances with a powerbomb. Marx followed with a perfectplex. Marx won the match with Natural Selection. The match was absolutely brilliant, and it woke up the crowd.

Match 3: Iceberg vs. Odinson

Winner: Double Countout

Match Rating 3 out of 5

Odinson kept trying in vain to suplex Iceberg at various points throughout the match. It seemed silly to me because Iceberg looks twice his size. There was another point where Iceberg looked like he was showing his size and power, but Odinson hit him and knocked him out of the ring. Iceberg hit Odinson with a blatant dropkick to the crotch, which the referee probably should have caught, but it didn't result in a disqualification. The wrestlers took their fight into the bleachers and the match ended in a double countout. They fought all the way back into the locker room.


Match 4: Simon Sermon vs. Tommy Too Much for the NWA Atlanta Heavyweight Championship

Winner: Tommy Too Much (DQ win)

Match Rating 4 out of 5

Simon Sermon came out like a man possessed. He beat up Tommy Too Much's ringside companions upon entry, and went after Too Much himself who exited the ring several times to avoid Sermon's wrath. Sermon hit Too Much in the crotch with a metal rod forcing the match to end in disqualification. Sermon retained the championship, and they will face each other on April 11th in a no disqualification match.


Match 5: Kyle Matthews vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Fry Daddy for the NWA GA Junior Heavyweight Championship

Winner: Fry Daddy

My pick for Match of the Night.

During the first portion of the match, Matthews and Rave kept Fry Daddy out of the ring.  Matthews had control. He worked the hell out of Rave, and Rave sold the hell out of his offense.  It was true beauty. Both Matthews and Rave deliver a higher caliber of in ring work than many independent wrestlers in the state, and it is a true pleasure to watch either of them work. Fry Daddy is a solid crowd favorite in NWA Atlanta, and he holds that audience in the palm of his hand.   Every time Fry Daddy tried to reenter the ring, one of his opponents kicked him back out.  Finally Rave pulled him back in and worked his neck.  Matthews put Rave in a boston crab, but Rave got the rope. Matthews locked Rave into a beautiful bridge submission, but Rave got the rope. Fry Daddy took down both Matthews and Rave. Fry Daddy then hit Matthews with a spinebuster, but only managed a two count. Rave countered Fry Daddy's offense into a crossface attempt. Fry Daddy won the match with a neckbreaker. Fry Daddy and Matthews shook hands after the match in sign of mutual respect.  All three men worked their hardest to deliver a match that made me happy I attend independent wrestling shows. It was a true work of art.

The Main Event: Bill the Butcher and Pain vs. Tyson Dean and Andy Anderson for the NWA Southern Tag Team Championship. (Steel Cage Match)

Rating 3 out of 5

Winners: Tyson Dean and Andy Anderson

The only way to win this match was by either pinfall or submission. I found it odd that escape wasn't an option, but that was made clear later in the match. I found myself slightly bored at the beginning of the match, but I think it was because I was still coming down from the greatness of the previous match. The match contained an interesting twist. Bill the Butcher went to hit his opponent, but instead hit Pain. Pain and Butcher got into a fight, and Black Widow opened the door to the cage allowing Bill The Butcher to abandon his partner to be curbstomped by Anderson and Dean. Anderson and Dean retained their belts.  Pain was so angered by the actions of his partner he attacked the referee postmatch.

Though only about 100 fans attended this show, it was one of the best NWA Atlanta shows I've personally attended. NWA Atlanta will be back in Locust Grove, GA on April 11th.

Platinum Championship Wrestling--November 30, 2014--Porterdale, GA

Match 1: Phil White vs. Azrael vs. Supernatural.
Winner: Supernatural

Phil White's gimmick was amusing. I couldn't tell exactly if he was a white supremacist in a black man's body, or if he was referring to the white people in the audience as colored, and attempting to put them in all back into slavery.  Either way it got a lot of heat. Supernatural won the match with a double stomp to Phil White, and Azrael made a nice show of sportsmanship towards Supernatural by raising his hand after the match. It was an awesome high energy opener.

Announcer Chuck Porterfield came to the ring saying that he'd often used the ring as a platform to share his political and social views with PCW fans, but he's changed course. "Fans don't come to sporting events to have opinions and views pushed on them. They want to see the best wrestling." He then described the main event tag team match between Big F'n Deal and The Washington Bullets. "It won't be opinion. It will be be in your face ass kicking between the two greatest teams in professional wrestling."

Match 2: Lyric vs. Warhorse Pi
Winner: Lyric

They attempted to introduce Warhorse Pi as "Warhorse 3.1425" or as all the digits of Pi, but as Pi is infinite that would have taken way too long.  The warhorse did a nice fakeout on the handshake to Lyric, instead choosing to kick her in the face.  Lyric did a sunset flip for a two count.  Then she did a crucifix for a two count, and got repeated near falls.  The warhorse suplexed Lyric, but he missed the follow up splash. Lyric won the match with a tiger feint kick. It was a decent debut for Lyric overall, and I'm curious to see more from this girl in the future.

The "Priority Male" Quasi Mandisco came out to tout Brian Kane's match against Bobby Moore and Shane Marx on December 6th. "I know you love me whether you want to admit it or not" he taunted the audience. "Next week The Priority Male and The Upgrade will be successful" A fan on the front row held up signs that said things like "Quasi's awesome" and then he'd rip them up to taunt Quasi. He and Quasi exchanged words and finally Quasi said "Justin, you want your 15 seconds of fame, but it ain't even worth it."

Match 3: Velvet Jones vs. President Marko
Winner: President Marko

These two wrestlers were evenly matched, and it resulted in a contest that showcased both their technical abilities. Velvet threw Marko into the barricade. Throughout the match, Jones showed a ruthlessness he'd never before exhibited.  Jones kept working Marko's leg after it appeared he'd tweaked it.  Velvet got Marko into an indian deathlock, but Marko got to the rope.  Velvet powerslammed Marko for a two count.  At the end it looked like Velvet had Marko pinned,
but Marko got his shoulder up and he pinned Velvet.  They embraced after. Velvet raised Marko's hand and then attacked him. He continued attacking Marko, hitting Marko's knee with a trash can. He wrapped him in the American flag in a way that resembled a military burial.  Overall it was a good match though Velvet's attack at the end seemed a little obvious to me.

Quasi Mandisco left the arena through the crowd. He was escorted by security, and he put on a pair of brass knuckles to show he meant business.The crowd yelled at him as he ventured out, and it drew good heat.

Match 4: Nina Monet vs. Miss Rachel
Winner: Nina Monet

These two fought hard, and Rachel had the match won. Nina tapped, but Lyric came out and  distracted the referee so Rachel didn't get her win. Rachel and Nina fought on the apron, and Nina got a two count.  Rachel was put to sleep by Nina Monet's wicked submission. It seems the rivalry between Nina and Rachel is just beginning, and with Lyric in the mix it's going to heat up.


The Main Event: Big F'n Deal (Geter and Brian Blaze) vs. The Washington Bullets (Jon and Trey Williams)

This match was a 2 out of 3 falls match to definitively decide once and for all who deserved the crown of best PCW tag team.  The match began with a handshake and a group hug, but it quickly turned into a four man brawl.  The Bullets came out strong at the start with a tandem dive.  Geter got the first fall of the match for Big F'n Deal.  Trey Williams countered Geter's size with his patented speed. Geter caught Jon Williams as he tried to dive and used him as a battering ram against Trey.  Geter got a 2 count.  Geter manhandled Trey Williams who was isolated for a long time. Brian Blaze tagged in and continued the assault against Trey.  Trey fought desperately to make the tag, and he showed great fighting spirit as he tried to withstand Geter and Blaze.

Jon Williams finally got in.  He did a slingshot, but Geter broke up the pin.  Jon hit Geter with an enzigiri.  The Bullets won the second fall because Geter attacked the referee and got disqualified.  Geter kicked out of a marion barry.  The bullets were sharp on their kicks, and they hit Blaze with a tandem kick that resulted in a two count.  Geter powerbombs Jon, then he hit Trey with a splash.  Trey won the match for the Bullets by rolling up Blaze into an inside cradle.  Geter lost his mind after they lost and it was an all out brawl. Wrestlers were thrown everywhere. In an attempt to subdue Geter, one of the bullets threw him into the wall right next to me, and there is now a hole in the wall of the arena from the impact. The night ended in carnage.

PCW will be back in Porterdale on December 6th.

Platinum Championship Wrestling 11/15/14--Porterdale, GA

To start the show,  Marko asked the audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. The "French Sensation", Romeo, promptly interrupted him, calling Americans obese.  USA chants erupted, and Romeo continued saying he was going to make Marko his own personal American lackey. A fight erupted between Marko and Romeo, and it continued as they went back upstairs.

Quasi Mandisco said "You're welcome" as he entered. " I know you're all saying thank you because I've graced you with my presence. I'm everything this crowd isn't, a real man. Nothing will keep me from putting my hands on Shane Marx or slapping the trollop out of Rachel. You need more of me in your lives, so I get a warm up match."

Match 1: Quasi Mandisco vs. Warhorse 11-11-11 (The Revolutionary Warhorse)
Winner: Warhorse 11-11-11

Quasi pushed the Warhorse down, stomped him, then choked him with the rope.  Quasi argued with the referee while Brian Kane beat up the Warhorse.  Quasi choked the Warhorse in the corner, and then he danced and strutted, taunting the Warhorse.  Quasi punched the Warhorse in the face, and he went down like a tree. Quasi then picked up the warhorse for a slam, but afterwards Quasi acted like his hand was hurt. Brian Kane hit the warhorse with a moonsault, causing the Warhorse to win because Quasi was disqualified.

Devlin Valek told Johnny Danger that he felt like he was always cleaning up his messes. "Every time it's time to step up, you're injured. I'm putting you on notice. I'm tired of doing your dirty work." Velvet Jones addressed Valek. "You know this is a business where all we do is hurt each other. Before you were wrestlers, you were brothers. The people of Porterdale don't like your attitude towards your brother, and I'm going to make you bleed inside this ring to show you that blood is thicker than water."

Match 2: Devlin Valek vs. Velvet Jones
Winner: Devlin Valek

The action spilled outside of the ring quickly after a giant clothesline from Jones.  It was an explosive match, and I enjoyed the aggression in Valek's offense.  Valek grabbed a foreign object from his pocket, and his brother, Johnny Danger pleaded with him not to use it. The referee was arguing with Danger telling him to stay back, and Valek hit Jones with the foreign object. Valek picked up the win. The match told an excellent story, and I'm looking forward to the future fallout between Danger and Valek.

Match 3: Nina Monet vs. Warhorse 3
Winner: Nina Monet
The match ended quickly when Monet used a submission that resembled a scorpion crosslock, and Warhorse 3 tapped out.  I long to see Monet's skills used against a strong female competitor on a regular basis.

Match 4: The French Sensation Romeo vs. President Marko
Winner: President Marko

Romeo kicked Marko in the midsection, and went for the cover early, but he only managed a two count.  Romeo punched Marko in the head, clotheslined him, and attempted a pin.  Romeo tried to choke Marko against the ropes, then jumped on his neck out of the ring.  Romeo put Marko into a headlock, then hit him with back elbow, and he managed a two count.  He landed shoulderbutts to Marko's midsection, and he landed two European uppercuts, but still only managed a two count.  Romeo dominated the first half of the match, but Marko came back strong.  Marko pushed Romeo into the corner, and they engaged in a back and forth flurry.  Marko took flight, and landed a leg drop for a 2 count. Marko caught Romeo when he tried to fly, and slammed him into the corner. He went up top and hit Romeo in the center of the ring to win the match.

Match 5: "Go Time" Eric Jones vs. Brian Blaze
Winner: Brian Blaze

Jones wasted no time. He superkicked Blaze in the face to open the match.  Blaze left the ring to recollect his energy. Jones hit him with an elbow and Blaze answered with shots to Jones's midsection.  Jones hit Blaze with an elbow then went up top. Blaze left the ring to avoid Jones, but Jones hit him with a gorgeous dive outside the ring.  Blaze attacked Jones and got a two count after an elbow. Jones chopped Blaze in the chest. Jones attempted to pin Blaze, and then they exchanged blows. Blaze won the match with "The Burn."

Blaze took the mic. "I let a lot of people down at Sacred Ground. I want my match. I want the Bullets. I want my partner Geter." The main event for PCW's November 29th show will be the real Tag Team Season final match from Sacred Ground. It will be Big F'n Deal vs. The Washington Bullets.

Main Event: "Hit for Hire" Bobby Moore and "The Upgrade" Brian Kane vs. "The Revelation" Shane Marx and Miss Rachel
Winners: "Hit for Hire" Bobby Moore and "The Upgrade" Brian Kane


Quasi spoke. "These people need to realize they're in the presence of greatness. We had to make a change because I want to give you the best I can. Because I hurt my hand, I found a more than suitable replacement, "Hit for Hire" Bobby Moore."

Moore and Marx started the match. Marx tried to break Moore's arm and Moore reversed into an armbar of his own.  Moore tried to corner Marx. Moore shoved Marx, and Marx pushed him down. Moore tagged in Kane.

Marx tagged Rachel, and they double teamed Kane.  Rachel tried to make Kane submit. Kane tagged in Moore.

Moore threw Rachel into the corner, and luckily she was close enough to tag in Marx.  Marx dropkicked Moore in the mouth.  Kane broke up the pin attempt.  Marx kicked Moore. Moore punched Marx. Marx tagged in Rachel.

Rachel attempted a sunset flip on Moore, but she couldn't manage to fell him.  She then wrapped him in a submission, wrapping her whole body around him until she could tag in Marx. Moore taunted Rachel by slapping Marx. He hit Marx with back elbows in the corner, then attempted a pin.  Moore kicked Marx repeatedly, then punched him in the face. Marx came to his feet, and Moore punched him again. Marx answered Moore's blows. Marx hit him with a double knee facebreaker. Kane argued with the referee while Nina Monet hit Rachel knocking her off the ring apron.

Moore tagged in Kane. Marx hit him with with some crazy clotheslines, then scoop slammed him. Moore broke up the pin attempt. Kane held Marx for Moore, but Marx evaded, and Moore ended up kicking Kane. Marx hit a spinebuster, but only managed a two count. Marx went for a spear and missed. Kane kicked Moore, laid him on top of Marx, and pinned both Marx and Moore for the win.

Stephen Platinum entered the ring and took the mic. He announced that November 29th's main event will be the Washington Bullets vs. The Big F'n Deal, and he announced that both Brian Kane and Bobby Moore are number one contenders, so on December 6th both of them will meet Shane Marx in a three way dance for the PCW title. The first wrestler to get a pinfall or submission will be the champion.

Platinum Championship Wrestling returns to Porterdale, GA on November 29th, 2014.
